  • Lightspeed - Equipped with cutting-edge engines and an array of thrusters, Macula-class vessels are renown for their speed in both space and atmosphere.
  • Particle/Wave - Above average maneuverability allows the Macula-class to take advantage of its speed in evading hostiles or evading enemy anti-air batteries.
  • Never Sets - Strong shielding and hull, combined with anti-missiles defenses, give the Macula-class a greater survival rate in combat zones.

  • Localized - Lacking a hyperdrive, these ships depend on a nearby capital ship for system-to-system travel.
  • Purposeful - While capable of defending themselves, the Macula-class do not possess a wide array of weaponry. They also lack exotic technologies or facilities, and provide no creature comforts for those on board.

The Macula-class transport is designed to ferry moderate to large loads of cargo to and/or from an orbiting capital ship, or to quickly get Imperium Knights (Commandos) into the Mess -- even if that means them literally jumping out in mid-air. Toward these ends, the vessels are also equipped with a loading ramp, wide doors on either side, and a large ventral (underside) door with loading cables and optional cargo sled. They lack extremely advanced technological capabilities or grand arsenals; instead their overpowered engines and sturdy hull allow them to fulfill their role even while under fire.

The cargo bay is roughly 17 x 4 x 4 meters in size supporting up to 272 cubic meters of cargo, with a 2 meter long ramp able to store an additional 16 cubic meters when closed. Alternatively, the ship can transport up to 45 armored Knights.

Two dedicated fusion generators power the repulsorlift when in near large masses (e.g. planets). They're split and stored in the engine pods to keep the midline to remain free of obstruction for maximum storage capacity. Disabling one can severely hamper the vessel's ability to fly due to unbalanced thrust; but usually generators only go offline when an engine pod is severely damaged, which renders the generator unnecessary anyway.

Geared up to get in and deliver troops, or ferry equipment up to their capital ship, the Macula-class transport is not a formidable vessel in dog fights or battle field suppression; but it can and will defend itself in a pinch when speed alone isn't enough.
