Private Mad Mutants

Angonous approached the large metal door. "The last home of Darth Mulag," he muttered tracing his hand against the door. After the Cold War, Mulag was forced to abandon his experiments. He claimed in his Holocron that he was close to finishing but the Hero of Tython caused a lot of havoc forcing the old Sith Empire to relocate. "It's a good thing he refused to blow the facility." Angonous said. "It's protocol for Sith to make sure everything is destroyed so the Jedi won't get anything useful."

There was a key etched on the door, the shape of the Holocron. The Sith Lord took out the Holocron belonging to Darth Mulag and inserted the artifact. Angonous heard a brief rumble before the door opened revealing a massive metal path full of wires hanging from the ceiling and shut down old battle droids. "We're in," Angonous said. "I trust that everything is set up?"

Sicarius nodded absentmindedly as her Master checked the tomb though something was niggling at her. It was Sith protocol to destroy anything that wasn't secure outside a of secure locations designed for prolonged existence of millenia. Sith Temples or the Valley of the Dark Lords on Korriban for instance, and even in those locations Jedi seemed more interested in locking down such sites then exploring them, they believed not entirely wrongly that such exploration of Dark Side nexus could lure Jedi into falling for the Dark Side themselves. It was far more likely that Sith had a rotocol to destroy things they didn't want other Sith to find and utilize themselves. It was sloppy of a Sith of Mulags standing and stature not to have prepared defences for just this eventuality.

"Good for us but sloppy of- Master wait!" Sicarius shouted in warning igniting her lightsaber just in time.

The shut down old battle droids activated and immediately started a circuit of fire. Sicarius defendd with some Soresu barrier of defence. Sicarius kept her lightsabers whirling, as long as she could defend long enough to get out of range they could regroup and take the battle droids down more effectively when they had time to prepare.

Unfortunately the so called battle hardened professional Mercenaries were panicking and sending panic fire in every direction.

"Sleemo slime lord thugs!" Sicarius cursed.

Darth Angonous Darth Angonous

Angonous could already sense that the Droids were active the moment Sicarius ushered the warning. A crimson blade erupted as soon as he unclipped his Lightsaber deflecting the blaster bolts and jumping into the action fueled by his rage. The first Battle Droid went down with a savage vertical strike effortlessly cut down to pieces. Grunting loudly, the Sith Lord batted away the blaster bolt fired by the second Droid redirecting it towards its it head exposing its internal conponents before being decapitated.

He didn't pay attention to the cowardly guards wildly firing like a drunken Wookie nor did he care Sicarius' cursing. Angonus was deep in his rage slicing through the Droids like butter. With single Force Push, Angonous hurled the Droids as the smacked against the wall reduced to pieces. With a deep sigh, and a grunt Angonous deactivated his Lightsaber before turning to his apprentice. "Enough Sicarius," he said in a calm tone. "No need to disparage these men so quickly. It turns out that this lab is fully operational."

Angonous frowned. "But all signs pointed at that fact that they've abandoned the lab." he said. "Perhaps the Droids took over? Unlikely though."

Sicarius Hekate Sicarius Hekate

Sicarius raised an eyebrow at her Master's quick dispatchment of the droids. It had been a rapid response and an effective one at that. The situation had had the potential to become a fiasco. Their own men had proven to be rather useless. Worst than useless in fact they had become a liability.

Sicarius turned and snarled at the mercenary thugs. "If you amateurs can't controlled your own panicked cowardly response I'll have you all castrated, blinded with your tounge's ripped out and fed to the nearest Krayt Dragon."

Sicarius grimaced and rolled her eyes at her Masters chastisement.

"What if the lab had been destroyed and anything useful they may have been able to use along with it?" Sicarius protested

As far as she was concerned she was being mild as far as her own measures of disciplinary actions. The whole incident had had the potential to be an inconvenient diversion.

"They should all be flogged at the very least spend a day on a shock rack"

Sicarius studied the Droids. Sicarius grunted in wry bemusement

"More likely the Droids were activated when the lab was breached. To discourage anyone from doing exactly what we're doing now. No self respecting Sith Lord would ever leave anything of true value behind unprotected."
Darth Angonous Darth Angonous

Normally Angnonous would agree with Sicarius' disparagement of the men, but they did have a use even if it's the simplest of kind. "Quell your anger my apprentice," the Sith Lord said as the trembling mercenaries cowered in fear of Sicarius. "Their ignorance can be explained by the many rumors that go on in these outskirts."

"They say that many people who travel to this place," one of the men: A Wequay said his shriveled face scrunching in fear. "Never come back, their ghosts will haunt the tomb of this area."

"Pure legend," Angonous said bluntly. "But legends always have a nugget of truth and it's something worth investigating."

"There has been reports," the Toady lackey said. "That the Damiyo's son disappeared as well in search for wealth and glory."

"Damiyo?" Angnouous raised an eyebrow. "What kind of name is that?"

"The name we give to rulers of a territory in Tatooine," the Toad Lackey said. "The son's name is: Belek Wendin so of Raxle Wendin: Damiyo of Mos Pelgo."

"In other words a fancy name for crime lords," Angonous said. "Does this Raxle offer a reward?"

"He promises to eternal friendship and 3 million credits to whoever brings his back." The man said.

"Looks like these men are not so useless after all," Angonous said to his apprentice. "Stay here and guard this place with your lives."

It was unlikely, but if Angonous and Sicarius could somehow find Belek, then that's another ally that can provide them what they need. "I would guess," Angonous said. "But this lab is still active somehow, we'll need to investigate further."

Sicarius huffed in a very frustrating manner that only a youthful person who has just been told to be patient by an authority figure can do. Sicarius rolled her eyes and grimaced. "Ignorance can never be explained. Hence the term ignorance. The lack of explanation and enducation is inherent in the word and its description"

Sicarius snorted as Master Angonous attempted to explain nonetheless.

"Such rumours are often associated with Sith remnants or tombs. It's not excuase for cowardice" Sicarius grumbled irritantly. "There's a tribe in the desert who still tell tales of similar angry ghost slaughtering an entire tribe."

"'Tall tales' being the salient term."

Sicarius snorted in amusement at her Master derision of the thugs attempt at justifying their cowardice.

"Actually Damiyo's were less than Crime Lords, barely better than these lackeys" Sicarius explained wryly "Damiyo's were Hutt lacey's their administrators and buraecrats, accountants, lawyers, scribes, diplomats."

"What passed for Hutt law and diplomacy at any rate"
Sicarius amended "They favoured Twi'leks for the role." Sicarius grimaced "The ones who weren't their personal body slaves at any rate"

Sicarius scowled as she reminded herself of her own short term situation in similar circumstances. Short not having been short enough.

Sicarius raised her eyebrow at the figure. Monetary gain had always seemed rudimentary to her, the only tool the powerless could gain power with. Still it had it's uses same as any other tool. Just like the tools in front of her.

Sicarius glanced at her Masters instructions. As if these tools could be trusted to guard anything with their lives. They might however guard them with their wallets.

"Stay and guard the entrance and you'll get ten percent of the reward." Sicarius promised "We'll let you have the Damiyo's eternal gratitude as well."

With that Sicarius turned haughtily and followed her Master inside.

"Ignorance is caused by a lack of knowledge or fear of the unknown," Anongous said. "Something that can easily be erased with knowledge my apprentice," Angonous said beginning to walk deeper into the old lab. "Well only if you're open minded, willful ignorance is something that cannot cured. Need I remind you Sicarius that your ignorance to your surroundings lead you to being Gula's body slave?"

He turned gave his provocatively dressed apprentice a glare. "If it weren't my interference, you would be dead or forever chained to the Hutt lashing out like a wild animal while he breaks you down to a nubile slave."

Angonous couldn't careless about the Damiyos. What matters is that there could be another potential ally that the Sith can use to build their army. Considering that many of them are not hardened crime lords, they'll be easy to manipulate. As soon as Sicarius followed Angonous, the metal door began to close behind them. "My lords!" Angonous heard the men shout after them as the door completely closed.

"You're not welcome in this place!" A haggard, mechanical voice boomed. "But yet I have more test subjects to conduct my experiments."

"Who are you?" Angonous took out his Lightsaber but did not activate it. Looks like his hunch was correct, somebody was here after all.

"My name is irrelevant," the voice said. "What's interesting though is that you're a Force sensitive. Yes my scanners indicate that besides, you're wielding a Lightsaber and actually look like you know what you're doing with it! You and your companion can be of some use to me."

"How so?" the Sith Lord replied.

"By going through some trials." the voice said as old Battle Droids marched towards their position. "Let's see what you're made of."

Angnous activated his Lightsaber, red blade shone against his face. "8 foes," he said to Sicarius. "I'll attack first, go and flank them."

Sicarius Hekate Sicarius Hekate

Sicarius barely restrained her huff and roll of her eyes as her Master once again preached about being mindful. She was beginning to be able to predict his lectures before he'd even started them, and once again he was chastising her about being captured by a Hutt so easily. Sicarius scowled.

"Gula was an inconvenience nothing more" Sicarius responded snappily "Nothing he could have done would have broken me into a nubile slave. Given enough time he would have been mine. Still might depending on how merciful I feel once we cross paths again."

"I doubt I'd give him the mercy or honour of a quick death"
Sicarius murmured dreamily imagingin all the things she could and would do to the slime lord "Plus he may prove a useful specimen for my own work"

"Not all Sith knowledge need be found in tombs and the past"
Sicarius said wryly "A good laboratory yields much for the future"

Sicarius had her lightsaber ready as the voice boomed out from the darkness. Mechanical and yet it's speech pattern was not that of a droid analysing it's target. Usually they used terms like 'affirmative' along with some calculation of percentage and odds of success or survival. Personally Sicarius liked proving the odds wrong.

Sicarius nodded briefly in acknowledgement and followed her Masters orders. Sicarius disignited her lightsaber. While he engaged them Sicarius muttered a small dathomir spell. Nothing powerful just a nice shroud of mist pooling around their feet and infecting the air. Outwardly harmless, but it gave her good cover to flank the enemies.

Sicarius circled round behind the Battle Droid closest to the right, using a Dun Moch technique of igniting her saber and launching her blade through it's central core.

For once she was relying on stealth rather than brute force. See sometimes she did see the value of subtlty over the more direct approach. Sicarius thought snarkedly at her Master.
Darth Angonous Darth Angonous

Channeling his anger, Angonous cleaved his way through the battle droids. Many parts flying around Angnogus as he remained focus on the task at hand. Sicarius sprung her ambush from behind slashing at the Droids from behind. In about five seconds, the Battle Droids have been reduced to spare parts lying at Angonous' and Sicarius' feet. "Who are you?" Angnous said his voice echoing throughout the empty lab.

"Who am I?" The voice replied back. "Why I am Darth Mulag. Former Head of the Sphere of Scientific Advancement way back during the Cold War. Admittedly my position didn't last that long because I never participating in any of the Dark Council's meetings. Oh well..... my brethren are dead and here I am still pressing on learning the mysteries of the Force."

An actual Sith Lord from Malgus' era! Though Angonous remained stoic, he couldn't help but be excited over this revelation. There were so many questions to ask and more importantly, so power and knowledge to attain. "We carry the maintain of the Sith!" Angnonous declared. "Though the Jedi continue to hound us, we stand strong in the face of danger. I am Darth Angonous and this is my apprentice: Sicarius. We seek an invention that you call: Mulag's Eye!"

"Bah!" Mulag said. "You're not real Sith! You're just pale imitations! I've been watching your kind struggle to attain power for generations only to fail miserably at the hands of the Jedi! We've built an Empire that lasted for hundreds of years but you Sith and I use that term lightly have been mucks in the mud trying to play catch up! I'm not impressed!"

Sicarius Hekate Sicarius Hekate

Sicarius finished off the droids, before scanning the surroundings for other threats. Nothing immediate though Sicarius suspected the lab had other surprises in store for them. Satisfied for the moment if still warey and cautious. Sicarius took her place behind her master to the left while he addressed the presence within the lab. Sicarius stifled a snort of contempt.

Darth Mulag Former Head of the Sphere of Scientific Advancement several thousand years ago. Who by his own admission was an incompetent head for a brief period of time. At best he sounded like yet another politician sycophant. Just another lab nerd with no appreciation of actual power, or how to wield it once he got it. It was Sith like him that gave the Sith Scientist a bad name.

Master Angonous however seemed rather excited by the new development. Darth Mulags attitude however only proved to be full of Hubris.

"Says the so called Darth who by his own admission was incompetent at his job at a position he didn't hold for long!"

Sicarius delivered with scorn

"You may have discovered a useful artifact, but you clearly had no idea to utilise the power you had let alone the ones you've invented."

This time Sicarius didn't try to hide her snort of derision, folding her arms with a grimace of contempt and expression of haughty pride.

"You say you created an Empire that lasted centuries millenia ago, but what have you done recently with your longevity while us true sith have continued to struggle against more factions in a fractured galaxy then your generation ever did."

"Do not lecture us on inaction, you old ghost!"

Darth Angonous Darth Angonous

"I don't need lectures from a woman who can't hide their lust for her Master!" The Doctor retorted. "Don't try to deny it, I can see the chain reactions and the chemical processes that signifies lust. The Sith I see are shadows! Unworthy to carry the mantle of the true Sith! I alone am worthy of leading the Sith from their slumber!"

"How so?" Angnonous said raising an eyebrow. "Especially when you've spent thousands of years huddled up inside this decaying facility?"

"Ignorant all of you." Darth Mulag said. "If you want to know what I was doing then come find me. You'll experience the full power that I possess!"

As the room fell silent, Angnous frowned. "We'll need to be cautious from here on out." he said to Sicarius. "We're in his home now, and no doubt he has an assortment of weaponry that he will throw at us. Those Droids was used as a test."

Sicarius Hekate Sicarius Hekate

Sicarius blushed furiously and scowled just as furiously as the old Sith ghost retorted back at her as it analysed her biological responses. Sicarius herself felt doubt and frowned she herself hadn't realised that her attraction to her Master was so physical. Mostly she was acting on the presumption that seducing her Master was a practical matter, easy to manipulate and forge a bond with until it was time to take her own place as Master.

Seduction was a useful weapon for those who knew how to use it. Still from a purely physical perspective she supposed he was attractive enough to have triggered her own pheromones. Sicarius was passingly familiar with the process given her own biological experimentations. Someday she hoped to capture a Zeltron to study the phenomenon further.

Sicarius let her Master take the lead in the discussion.

"He's an Ancient Relic of a bye gone age" Sicarius seethed with contempt "but as you wish my Master."
Darth Angonous Darth Angonous

"He may be ancient my apprentice," Angonous said. "But that does not mean we should underestimate him. It's clear he's been couped up in this lab for eons plotting and scheming. Treachery is the way of the Sith as well as patience, something you need to learn."

Angonous ignored Sicarius' reaction to the Doctor's response that she was attracted to him. He was aware of her growing attraction and was curious to see how it affected her. The Sith Lord ventured forth deeper into the cave until he heard stomping from afar. Mechanical whirring along with the faint whine of multiple lasers. Raising his fist signaling Sicarius to stop, Angonous motioned her to head to the right and scout.

"I sense a massive disturbance in the Force." Angnous. "You need to train your concealment my apprentice, scout ahead."

Sicarius Hekate Sicarius Hekate

Sicarius nodded absentmindedly at her Masters caution. For a Sith Marauder it seemed like that was the only thing he ever advised or cautioned her about. Patience, patience, patience. No one ever killed their enemy with patience. Still the lab itself was fairly impressive more than adequate for a Sith Scientist to explore her theories of genetics and alchemy.. Also Sicarius preferred a more mobile lab on a personalised ship. Still there might be some decent tech they could scrounge for her own lab after they dealt with the old ghost. Although it would have to be adapted away from the obvious mechanised priority

Speaking of which..

"What's that sound?" Sicarius muttered as she was brought out of her inner monologue "Yes Master"

Sicarius stretched out her senses while she cautiously stepped forward eyes scanning back and forth, in a searching pattern. Left, right, up down. Still Sicarius could almost hear her masters criticism.

'don't rely on your eyes they can deceive you, trust the force'

Sicarius did just that.. there was something… it was attached to the..

Sicarius ducked and dived out of the way incoming blaster bolt, coming out of it into a sommer sault bringing her lightsaber to bear, she broke into an instinctive defense formation constantly circling to intercept the blaster fire.

"Battle Droids!" Sicarius shouted to her master as they stepped out of the shadows.

Darth Angonous Darth Angonous

Angonous could sense Sicarius' frustration about patience, she should know by now that patience is a major reason why the Sith keep coming back. She should remember her enslavement to Gula as a consequence of her impulsivity. The Sith Lord could already sense the upcoming battle droids by the time Sicarius told informed him. Taking out his Lightsaber, Angonous rushed towards the laboratory and leapt towards the nearest Battle Droid slicing it in half.

"Intriguing!" Darth Mulag shouted over the intercom while Angonous transitioned to a horizontal slash to his next target decapitating it. "The Force is strong with the two of you. Your Midichlorians counts are off the charts!"

The Sith Lord was too immersed into the Dark Side to acknowledge his remarks. A blanket of blaster bolts attempted to pepper Angnous but he managed to block them weaving his Lightsaber to redirect the bolts. "These Droids are some of the best machines I've produced!" Mulag shouted. "But it seems more work is necessary to improve it!"

More Battle Droids appeared from a large container while Angonous frowned. "That machine seems to be creating battle droids!" He said to Sicarius. "Try to disable it, while I handle these Droids!"

Sicarius Hekate Sicarius Hekate

Sicarius grunted in annoyance at the Ancient Sith Lords commentary. Like he was watching a sport and critiquing their performances. Although Sicarius supposed that's exactly what was happening, blood combat was pretty much every Sith's favourite sport whether it was pitting them against beasts, people or in the case machines.

Sicarius focused on the battle in front of her trying to anticipate the clankers moves analyzing them for a weakness in their attack formation. So far she and her Master were handling them with relative ease, but one of the advantages of machines was that they did not tire only persistence until there programming told them there task was complete.

Master Angonous found the weakness before she did, a fact which mildly irritated her more then the actual potentially life threatening skirmish they were currently in. No doubt it would earn her another lecture on patience and being aware of her surroundings.

"Yes Master" Sicarius obeyed with a slight grimace

Sicarius approached the machination in question, she found the obvious solution quickly, but decided to have some fun at her Masters expence.

"So Master? Should I wait patiently while the droids slowly wear you down? After all it is wise to be cautious and weary and not act rashly. Shouldn't we assess the situation meditate on it for a few hour then decide whether or not to disable the enemies that are trying to kill us?"

Sicarius grinned with a glint in her eye

"Or should I just do this?"

Sicarius turned her grin and her passion into force lightning running through her hands and over loading the machine.
