Washing her hands was easy, even if her face turned a bit pink in embarrassment. There were things she still wasn't too sure about. Things that were still new. She felt rather silly about it. Just like when Makai mentioned his dad building a fire on the beach.

Why would you build a fire on the beach? That made Myra's eyes grow wide. She barely managed to shut off the water - mainly because she was trying to mimic what Makai had done - when her bewildered features turned towards the youngling.

Fires were dangerous. They would burn everything down!

Judah wouldn't be able to miss the arch in Danger's eyebrow at his lie. Danger had plenty of experience at playing a role and learning to read folks when it came to business dealings. It was a skill that transferred over to social events that the woman utilized many a time to soothe over confrontations and get a feel for where a person's true intentions and desires lay.

Judah was lying. It was a mild shock to tell as much as it was heartbreaking. Was he doing it so that he could fool others or more aptly, fool himself?

"Alright," Danger would drawl slowly, the words falling with a heavy weight as if she were mulling over things.

"Give me the grand five credit tour." the corner of her mouth perked as she gestured for him to take the lead.

Sitting on the tub, legs still stretched out, Makai caught the girls stormy grey eyes. Concern filled them, almost a panic. The girl hadn't spoke him in at all. The young half-Galan wasn't sure if she could speak basic. Seemed to understand it quite well though, judging from her actions after he spoke several times.

He carefully stood up, offering a scale-speckled hand to help her off the step-stool.

"You okay? I think I hear Dad and Miss Ar-cen-eau 'round the corner. You wanna find 'em?"

Makai was going to offer to show her his room with the cool ocean views, but she seemed a little worried about something. Maybe the water was making her scared. Dad said some people couldn't stand the wide open oceans.

"Five credit tour? 'Fraid its only like a two credit tour."

He led [member="Danger Arceneau"] into the guest villa, slightly attached to the main home. It would be quiet enough for the pair to escape the Dashiell men without actually having to go too far. First stop was the living room with a small kitchen attached to the room for an open feel, the tropical vegetation as far as the eye could see.

"Not as grand as an ocean view, but I saved that for the bedrooms. Makai and I did a lot of this by hand. Great to see him not shy away from work..."

A short trip down a hallway showed the guest room that he and Makai had painstakingly wood paneled, with a small bathroom attached. Their last stop was the master bedroom for the guest villa. Sweeping ocean views could be seen in nearly every window.

"Probably the best room in this guest villa. Views are great in here no matter what type of day. Hopefully you and Miss Myra will be comfortable staying with us for a bit. Feel free to arrange how you need it, I had a designer working via HoloNet but....well....never do trust their eye all the time."

Unsure, Myra stood there for a second. Frustration lined her face as she wasn't sure how to explain things.

When he asked her if she was okay, Myra shook her head from side to side. No, she wasn't okay. Then another nod, yes she wanted to see Miss Arceneau.

Seeing him stretch out her hand at her also gave her pause. Reminded him a little bit of Alric, who was always trying to be nice to her. Carefully Myra placed a tiny hand upon the blue speckled one.

The slow full hipped saunter came to a halt in front of the impressive ocean view of the master suite. The windows were open, allowing the nearly transparent white curtains to flutter with every pass of the ocean breeze. Her smile broadened, the woman able to smell the salt of the sea and the kiss of the wind. Auburn waves of hair would dance lightly as a gust swept in, tickling her cheeks. Turning to Judah, Danger's eyes glittered with warmth.

"It's beautiful, Judah." she meant it. "Now that's a sight I reckon few ever get to see." while the arid desert of Tatooine would always be held dear in her heart, this particular one wasn't one to be disappointed with. The fact that Judah and Makai were the ones to work on the wood paneling and its construction was impressive. All the more knowing that the Dashiell men had made this their project to work through together. If there was anything Danger held with high regard, it is when a man took it upon himself to work hard and toil with his hands to make something great.

Thessa Kai was a bloody fool.

The thought arose without prompting. Then again, the Queen of Trade already had a colored impression on the Dashiell's consistently indisposed wife. One that Danger finally had brought up back on Maramere; the end result being that Judah had made it entirely clear that any discussion on his relationship with his wife was off the table. Respect for Judah made Danger stick to it --- regardless at how hot tempered she became at the thought of the Galan.

"I reckon your designer did well." it had a homey touch to it. Simple but brought out the beauty of the woods and the landscape.

Hand helped [member="Myra Elspeth"] down from the step stool that sat against the sink. It wasn't a far step down but he felt his newfound friend would need the extra assistance. If Makai thought he was skinny, the girl far exceeded skinny and was bordering on 'skin and bones'. It bothered him a little....of course Miss Arceneau fed her....what happened before Miss Arceneau though?

"C'mon, we'll go find Dad."

Hand stayed in hers and he led her through the hallways towards the guest house. He was silent, even his bare feet were barely making any noise as he listened carefully over the sound of the ocean. Voiced drifted towards them.

"I think I hear 'em...Not much further." A small pause before calling out, they had reached the living room of the guest house. "Dad!"

"Rarely.I'm used to barren nothing,used to find beauty in the rocks and caverns. This though? Its nice to wake up to every morning. I've gotten used to it quickly."

Judah planned on staying on their little island getaway for some time. It would be too hard to go to back to his home on Ceto and live. Too many memories, both good and bad, would only haunt him at his former beach home. In a way the island was both reclusive and liberating. Work had begun before Thessa had disappeared yet she had never visited the island nor the home in construction at the time. In many ways it was a blank slate for the two Dashiell men.

"Thank you. Never know with these things and I suppose it ain't wise for two men to sit and decide such things."

A small smile before he turned his head at the sound of 'Dad'. Of course it wouldn't take long for the two to come wandering their way. Although Judah had suspected Makai would be occupying Miss Myra's time with stories about Captain Atlantis and the ocean. Not so it seemed.

"Duty calls. I imagine yours is in tow."

Myra seemed to just wander along behind Makai. Her expression was a bit anxious, but steady. It was more as if she couldn't quite relay her worries and concern. Why would they burn the beach?! The youngling didn't understand, so rightfully so she fretted. When the pair came into sight of Danger and Judah, the Queen of Trade immediately noticed that something was wrong.

"You okay honey?" her smile faded, and Danger's brows drew together. Mother henning came easy to the woman, and in no time she had crossed the distance to come crouching down in front of the little girl.

Myra gave a few gestures, not quite sure how to explain. Perhaps Makai might be able to help?

Slender shoulders shrugged, feeling bad that he had made the girl feel any different than welcome. She seemed seriously upset about something. Was it his scales? Small hand went to cover a patch on his forearm self-consciously, worried that the girl was freaked out about seeing a giant fish-boy out of water.

"I don't know Dad. I don't think she likes the water. Or ocean."

If that was the case, poor Myra wouldn't be able to come see his cool room. It had a 360-view of the ocean. If she couldn't handle the view out the regular window, imagine being higher up.

[member="Makai Dashiell"]

That wasn't it!

Myra immediately became even more anxious at the assumption Makai had. That wasn't it at all! Myra didn't know much about the ocean to begin with so she had no opinion on the matter. She was far more concerned about how he was gonna set the beach on fire!

The little girl rocked on her feet, shuffling in place. Those large grey eyes helplessly went panning from Danger, to Makai then to Judah only to start all over again. In an attempt to clarify the issue, she began to gesture with her hands and fingers. The short digits made little wiggling motions as if to say something was on fire. Or at least she thought she was doing that. For all the youngling knew, she was just confusing the three even further.

Danger blinked, trying to make sense of what Myra was saying. Poor little girl was desperate to communicate, but with her not talking it made things all the more confusing to understand.

"Alright sweetheart, let's just take it one step at a time." turning to Makai, Danger gave him an encouraging smile She could see he was already panicking too.

"How about you walk me through what happened and what you talked about hmm?"

[member="Myra Elspeth"] | [member="Danger Arceneau"]

"Uhmm..." Makai tried to think, eyes darting back to Myra. She still seemed real nervous about something. Part of him was worried it was something he did, although his Dad didn't seem to be concerned. At least, his Dad hadn't told him he did anything wrong....yet.

"We washed our hands, I sat on the bathtub edge. We talked about Ceto an' the beach. Smores and stuff, how good they are. I don't know if Myra's every had smores so I thought it would be fun..."

A pause.

"Then I wanted her to see my room and the cool views.....Dad, can we still have smores, please?"

Judah couldn't help but shake his head. Of course his son would still be thinking about food at a moment like this. He watched Makai fidget a little, looking more than a little lost. Poor kid probably thought he did something wrong. Head inclined back to the main house, Judah needed to get Makai focused on something else.

"Why don't you do me a favor? Go head out to Miss Arceneau's ship and start pulling luggage down the ramp, alright?"

[member="Makai Dashiell"]

He hadn't mentioned about setting the beach on fire! Myra's eyes grew wider and she was even more distressed. She wasn't sure how to communicate it either. When she turned to look at Makai he seemed just as equally lost as the adults. However, edged along his puzzlement was the worried expression that he'd done something wrong. Now Myra felt bad.

What was she supposed to do?!

This time around the frustration expressed itself with the moisture that welled in her eyes. Her throat bobbed and her shoulders seemed to sink. She didn't know a lot of the things going on here. Everything was new to her and she was so obviously confused and flustered.

Danger could see that nothing was really getting anywhere. If anything, time would allow Myra to express herself. Taking Myra in her arms, she smiled over her shoulder at Makai.

"It's alright. I'm sure we'll figure it out. No worries." looking back at the little girl, Danger gave an encouraging smile.

"It's fine honey. Come on. We'll get settled in and then rest up a bit okay?"

[member="Myra Elspeth"]

Shoulders slumped as Makai headed out of the guest house. He was fairly certain something he had done was wrong. Myra couldn't seem to talk or get her point across. Makai didn't seem to be making anything better. Dejected he slowly wandered out towards the landing pad.

Meanwhile, Judah flashed a small smile at both Arceneau women.

"Alright ladies, we'll be around if you need us. Enjoy your rest."

A small wave to Myra before heading out to help Makai. Poor kid needed some reassurance it wasn't his fault and that Myra wasn't afraid of his scales. If that was the case the girl would have been running away when she first set foot on the island.

[member="Makai Dashiell"]

And so the first wave of confusion began. Myra peeped out from under Danger's arm and saw a rather dejected Makai wander off to help his daddy. Saddened the little girl wasn't quite sure what to make of things. She wanted to explain but couldn't seem to do so without making things all the more confusing.

It made her a bit fussy, but none the less she followed Danger off towards the small little casita that would be their domain while visiting.

Once there, Danger continued to smooth over her adopted daughter's locks.

"It's okay honey. I know you are worried about something. Just gotta figure out how to communicate it right." As much as Danger wanted to ask her to simply say it, she knew that it would only make the youngling more withdrawn. She'd talk when she was ready.

"Maybe use a datapad?" she suggested. The little girl was working on her Aurabesh sigils, but even then, she was still a bit behind.

It didn't take long for Judah's longer strides to catch up with Makai. The young boy was still walking down the crushed coral path, shoulders slumped. Judah felt for the boy, his son was taking it hard that Myra couldn't communicate with him effectively. Judah could tell Makai felt mildly responsible, the same way Makai felt it was his fault his mother had died.

"Myra will come around in time. I don't think she's been around people long and its a difficult time for her too...."

"I don't think she likes my scales. Or how I look. I think I scared her." Head tilted up towards his father, looking for a better answer than his own.

"I doubt that. You two seemed fine up until a moment ago." If the girl was scared by Makai, she would have went running at the first sight of him. "Give her time. Keep talking to her. Treat her like a normal girl. She hasn't had the type of life you had. Its going to take a long time, okay?"

"I guess so...."

"Good. Now lets get moving with this luggage."
