Make Her Feel Welcome

Despite how closed off [member="Aria Vale"] was, and even without his gifts of reading people, he still would've seen how flustered she became as the door swung open. He smiled lightly then almost reassuring "Your not keeping me from anything." Solomon said as he followed her into the home. The quarters he chose for her was a premium suite on the upper levels of the city. It would more then suit her needs for the temporary time she'd be here until she was seen. In truth there were things he could be doing, a Prince always had obligations. But they could wait.

Solomon slid into a chair and watched as Aria fumbled around the kitchen. When she had his back to him he remained genuinely amused at the whole scene inside, watching how she bounced around searching from cupboard to cupboard to find objects, getting everything situated in the frantic manner. But with each passing moment that he sat there he knew that it was the right choice. He wanted to find out more about Aria Vale. But to press further he would need to wait. "Yes thank you." He said at her question of milk.

In record timing she spun around from her hunt in the cupboards with two cups of tea, setting them down on the table. There was a light splash then as one of the cups was brought down just a tad too fast, at the wrong angle sending a light splash over the side. The small event sent a visible flinch through Aria. In truth he didn't wholly expect to make her nervous over tea, in fact he wanted her to feel comfortable. Solomons hand moved over to cover her own as he looked up to her "It's alright. It looks great thank you." Solomon said, picking up the cup of tea. He took a sip savoring its warmth, its exceptional taste. "Maena has some beautiful beaches. They're not normal beaches but they're beautiful in their own way." Solomon said, deciding to make small talk. It would let her calm down then.

"Do you like beaches, Aria?"

You're a grown woman, Aria. Honestly. Even with the Jedi, Aria had always been rather...excitable. It didn't help that she had enhanced access to any such excitement - well, it helped in plenty of instances, but this wasn't really one of them. Simply an instance of her usual tendency to think and then speak had been dissolved by a burst of surprised maybe-excitement. But it got her in a bit of a flap - every time - and it wouldn't do. Just had to be careful to let certain things be less obvious.

Thankfully, tea solved everything. Universal rule. Aria picked up her own, hiding a slight twitching smile behind her mug at his thanks. Even the tea here was divine - Aria had a feeling she'd like Maena quite a bit. And as always, the hot drink slowed down the rapidly geared pace of her thoughts just enough that she didn't seem quite so unrelaxed. It was the tea that did it, of course. Obviously.

Beaches? Where did - oh, it was smalltalk. Do I look confused? Please don't tell me I looked confused for a moment there. Smalltalk was a tricky concept for Aria, but nearly twenty-four standard years could teach one a lot. "I suppose so," she replied, setting her mug back down for a moment. "It's nice to walk on a beach when I need to clear my head." Which had always been frequent. She liked the outdoors. Though Aria liked her own company best in all but a few cases, that wasn't to say she was an entirely isolated being; she'd like human interaction better if she found more people easy to talk to, besides. People just so rarely made sense.

"How about you?" It still seemed a funny question, but it was the first way she could think of to continue the conversation. And for once, she wasn't trying to keep talking with the sole intent of avoiding awkward silences - she hated those, of course, but for once she genuinely wanted to keep talking. It was a nice feeling.

There was a method to his madness.

In truth he wasn't trying to avoid any awkward silences with [member="Aria Vale"] as they sipped the hot tea and discussed things. The conversation wasn't a forced one he was genuinely interested in keeping it flowing, keeping her relaxed. There was another intention that brewed unseen beneath the surface, carefully hidden behind a light smile which ducked behind the cup of tea as more flowed into his mouth. He had a proposal for Aria, an offer that was clawing away at the fringes of his insides. Their illuminating meeting told him that he wanted more, by how irregular of an interaction this way it seemed he wanted a lot more from this. He wanted to properly ask her out, around the world.

While Solomon was a Prince raised in the most lavish of palaces given access to whatever he wished, he loved the outdoors. The world of Panatha had some of the most beautiful, and vibrant outdoors settings. From the tropical forests to the swamps, and the high mountains. So often he would go out to these settings and move through these diverse rainforests to climb the stones of ancient, long forgotten ruins immersing himself into the wild. Beaches were some of the most peaceful locations with their clear waters and smooth shores. The sounds of crashing waves filling the air and a breeze in your face that was all the more soothing.

"I am of the same mind. I love the beach especially when I need to clear troubled thoughts." Solomon said, setting the cup of tea down. "You might not be able to see it from orbit but Maena is an incredibly beautiful world, with some of the most beautiful landscapes. They're truly breathtaking."

It was entirely likely that she'd misread things, but that seemed like an opening.

Right? Aria liked to think her ability to make sense of people had improved somewhat in the years of practice she'd had, and that did very much seem like her chance to jump in with an offer to spend more time together. It'd be great to visit one of the beaches here together some time, and that was all she needed to say. No, that had to be an opening. Huh.

And then to predict his response. He had already asked to stay for tea, but Aria hadn't the skill to decide at what point the polite welcoming had become an actual desire to prolong their interaction. Then again, there was always the possibility that he'd agree out of obligation, but Aria was too familiar with such to ever want to put someone on the spot like that. People. They were so confusing.

Oh, what the hell. Worst came to worst, she made things awkward; if that happened, they didn't have to see each other again, most likely. She didn't love that that was a possibility, but she at least liked to have a worst-case scenario. If she'd read it right, however, she was fairly certain she'd get a yes, and Aria had dealt with far less than fairly certain in far scarier situations. Well, this was debatably much scarier than a moody ex-Jedi Master, but that wasn't the point.

"Yeah, I bet," she said in casual agreement, taking another sip of her tea. Then she shifted further back in her seat, resting her elbows on the table with her mug between both hands. "You know, if you wanted, it'd be great to visit them together some time."

Nicely done, Aria.

Well.

Probably.

It was an opening.

The mans open ended statement to [member="Aria Vale"] was ultimately an opening he needed to exploit. Why did he ask to come in otherwise? After all his job was done as an escort for Aria, he provided her with quarters and indeed make her feel welcome to the best of his ability.

This was the chance.

Solomon didn't want their meeting to end like this, he wanted to spend more time with Aria, to get to know Aria Vale beyond who he welcomed to Maena.

In truth during their encounter he had been mulling over how to approach asking her. First he decided after seeing her so flustered she needed to relax, to calm down more. While he could've just come out and asked her the moment needed to be right, just right. Then..

"You know, if you wanted, it'd be great to visit them together some time."

Solomon nodded as he finished his tea, setting it on the counter. "Yes I would love to take you out to show you all of the beautiful sights Maena has to offer." Solomon confirmed, standing up. It's a date.
