Makeb Me a Deal

When [member="Darth Arcanix"] checked her datapad she would find this message from T'moxin Temi, Seargent At Arms of the Red Ravens:

Ms. Arcanix,

I hear you are interested in collaborating on a business deal to expand Krayt Industries into Raven territory, specifically in the region of Makeb and also to have access to the valuable mineral Isotope-5. The Ravens would like to explore a partnership with you. Would you be willing to give me a presentation on Krayt Industries? I am especially interested in your ship building capabilities but would also like hear what else your company produces and how we can mutually benefit from a business arrangement.

Since my schedule is free I would like to set up a meeting with you very soon. The options for this meeting location are as followed:

You could meet me on Antecedent in the Dragon Palace Casino or in Club Frenzee where we will pay for your expenditures and make sure you have access to fine dining and entertainment while you're here.

I could meet you on Makeb so you could tour the Isotope-5 mining facilities.

We could meet on my private luxury yacht the Sovereign Butterfly in a system or your choosing.

Or I could meet you on another planet also of your choosing.

I very much look forward to connecting with you. Please let me know which of the options you prefer.

*Transmission over*

Once T'moxin sent her message, she sat down at the circular bar on the Sovereign Butterfly and poured a glass of expensive Cambrian wine. Then she titled the wine, so the liquid rolled toward the edges of the glass, allowing her to see the wine’s complete color range. She waited for a reply.

Taeli had decided to make overtures to the allies of the One Sith, the Red Ravens, as she had recognized a chance for further growth for Krayt Industries and access to a very rare and useful material for a future project she was developing. Reading the message she had received, Taeli started typing a reply to send to the Sergeant at Arms for the Ravens

"Miss Temi, I would very much like to visit the Dragon Palace Casino as I have yet to acquaint myself with such a well known location of the galaxy," she typed. "I shall arrive as soon as possible, and I hope we can come to a mutually beneficial partnership for both Krayt Industries and the Red Ravens."

She was very careful to make sure to say Krayt and not the Sith, she knew the semantics were important even if they were allies currently. It showed that even if things deteriorated, she wouldn't be opposed to further relations, even if they were forced to be secret. She closed her eyes for a moment, then got up with datapad in hand. She would need something truly elegant for this meeting, she thought as she started working on her presentation for the meeting. It was going to be an interesting meeting she felt.

A luxury speeder greeted Darth Arcanix at the docking bay exit on Antecedent. Tmoxin Temi exited along with two bodyguards and the driver who stood at attention by the speeder, awaiting instructions from either female.

"Good to meet you, Lady Arcanix," Tmoxin said. "I was eager to greet you myself. And while Ground Zero is fairly safe, your welfare is my greatest concern right now. If you please?" she gestured to the door, and the driver opened it.

Inside the speeder Arcanix would find supple leather seats, a long plexiglass bar underlit with soft blue lights and crystal stemware. As Tmoxin climbed in after her she added: "Help yourself to any refreshments. The speeder has just about anything you'd want to drink. And unless you are tired and just want to view the glittering lights of Antecedent around you, we could start discussing business right away." Arcanix would notice that Tmoxin's graciousness wasn't necessarily forced but there was a clipped all-business like demeanor about the Hapan.

"Why thank you for the professionalism, it is rather refreshing I must say," Taeli replied, picking up a small ice tea she spotted hiding amongst the refreshments. "You'll have to excuse me, someone in my position doesn't drink alcohol in the slightest, but to business then."

Reaching into her satchel, she pulled out a datapad and activated a small holo-projector installed on it.

"So, what I'm proposing is the establishment of shipyards and facilities on Makeb for Krayt Industries to have access to isotope-5, something that would help change the game in space combat and travel," she began. "The shipyards that would also be established here, one of our Mark I and one of our Type III, would be open to providing ships for the Red Ravens, even help in the designing of a true naval force for the Ravens of ship types exclusive to the Ravens. I understand there might be suspicions of a Sith, so I would propose that they be a joint operation between my company and the Ravens."

When the Lady Sith said she didn't drink alcohol it didn't surprise Tmoxin. She knew many a powerful female that didn't indulge in alcohol, opting instead to have a clear head at all times around her. She herself had a fondness for expensive wine but it was her only vice as she didn't indulge in spice, took vitamin supplements and kept her body in good shape. She nodded her head at Arcanix as she spoke.

Once Arcanix delivered her business proposal, Tmoxin sat back and crossed her legs. "Isotope-5 for your ships? Very interesting. You'll need some very talented engineers given the minerals unique properties but I'm sure you employ only the finest. This sounds like a very fair deal at first glance. I'm thrilled to learn more about this exclusive fleet just for the Ravens. A joint operation sounds very judicious."

"And then just so I'm clear are you suggesting the shipyards are situated on Makeb or Antecedent?"

[member="Darth Arcanix"]

[member="Tmoxin Temi"]

"They would be situated wherever the Ravens deemed most secure and most productive," Taeli said, nodding at the woman. "I understand security is a very high concern, especially in this region of the galaxy, so to that end I would leave it up to yourself and the rest of the Raven leadership to decide where you would want these shipyards built. I'm not too picky to be perfectly honest."

She was glad that Miss Temi here liked the proposal, it was actually slightly in favor of the Ravens in how it was framed, but then Taeli believed good will was important in business dealings, on top of polite manners and professionalism. Being arrogant just shut doors before they even opened, and that was just bad for business.

"For the production of the Raven exclusive fleet, I wonder would you want them to be original designs or designs that the Ravens create and are contracted out to us?" Taeli asked, not sure what they might be looking for in that regard.

Tmoxin tapped her datapad and quickly sent off a message to Cryax to have him confirm what she was thinking based on the Lady Sith's answers. "I'm not sure about the designs at this early stage, but I'll be in contact with our lead engineer and let you know," she said watching Arcanix as she awaited a reply. "Once we get to the Dragon Palace Casino I have arrangements for you to visit the day spa and have the Zero-gee massage as well as whatever other treatments you want." Tmoxin then pulled out some vouchers from her black blazer pocket and handed them to Ms. Arcanix. "These will get you into any restaurant in the Casino complex, pay for drinks... non-alcoholic of course," she winked. "And if you aren't too tired by the evening, I've left two orchestra seat tickets to the Circo-Menagerie a living replica of an Old Republic style circus. It's gotten excellent reviews." She glanced down quickly to read the reply she was waiting for.

"Let's have the shipyards built on Makeb," Tmoxin said. "I'll have the contracts drawn up this afternoon and delivered to your hotel room." She held her hand up as if to stop herself. "There is one stipulation. If the peace treaty with One Sith fails then the Red Ravens take control of all of Krayt's facilities. That sounds reasonable to you, agreed?"

[member="Darth Arcanix"]

"That all sounds lovely and very generous, I thank you," Taeli said with a smile as Tmoxin explained the arrangements being made for her stay. It was good to see that manners and hospitality were still alive and well within the galaxy, and Force knew she could use some more relaxing time. Her last mini-vacation had been rudely interrupted by one of the people who now learned from her.

"Makeb would definitely cut down on time between development of things," Taeli said, tapping her chin. "As for if the alliance collapses, it is only within your rights as a sovereign nation to do just as you suggested. I wouldn't expect anything less, Miss Temi. But, I look forward to seeing the contracts you draw up."

It was always nice to deal with someone who was just as professional as she was when it came to business.

[member="Tmoxin Temi"]

"That is being done as we speak," said Tmoxin. She looked out the window of the speeder and noticed that they were upon the glittering lights of the Dragon Palace Casino. "Ms. Arcanix we've arrived."

The luxury speeder stopped at the DPC entrance. As they climbed out of the speeder, Txomin motioned to the bellhop to get Darth Arcanix's belongings. A Bothan walked out of the revolving doors and up to both females.

"This is Frab, Cryax Bane's assistant. He will show you to your room and the contract will be securely sent to you on your personal datapad sometime this afternoon." Tmoxin smiled again at Arcanix. She admired this Lady Sith for being as polished and capable of a businesswoman as she was. "Enjoy your stay. And again if you need anything at all please let Frab know who will let me know and I will have it to you in a snap." She snapped her fingers for the full effect.

[member="Darth Arcanix"]

"Of course, and thank you for the hospitality," Taeli said, bowing graciously to the other woman before following Frab to her rooms. As he opened the door for her, she had to admit . . . the Ravens liked what money could buy. She guessed she was in a VIP suite, and it was just as fancy as she had expected.

"You can go for now," she said with a smile and taking a few credits out and handed them to him. "I'll see myself around the room."

Walking around the room after Frab had left, but not before giving her a message system to contact him immediately if she needed anything, she had examined the entire room and found it very nice indeed. She hadn't been able to resist throwing herself onto the bed or checking out the very nice bath that she might partake in later. But for now, she settled herself at a holo-terminal on the desk and began pulling up a text file she could read for a bit while she waited for the contract to arrive on her datapad. Business finalized before pleasure and games after all, well unless Ice was here then it could be both.

When Darth Arcanix received the contract it would read:

Attached is the contract Ms.Arcanix. Please read at your earliest convenience and let me know if you have any questions. Once to your liking, please sign and send back and I'll counter sign.

Master Service Agreement (MSA)

Between: Krayt Industries and DPC Incorporated

Description: To allow Contractor (Krayt Industries) to have joint-access to Makeb Isotope-5 and building production facilities, including shipyards in Red Raven owned territory. This will be done under the terms of this contract. The Red Ravens retain all rights to the Isotope-5 mines and mining facilities. Krayt Industry is the Contractor in this agreement.

MSA Terms: To allow Krayt Industries and DPC Incorporated co-own any new production facilities, including but not limited to shipyards, housing for labor, etc.
In return for access to the mining facilities and material found within the shipyards built by Krayt Industries, Krayt Industries will build a fleet of ships for the Red Ravens. The exact terms of the fleet will be covered under a separate service level agreement.

All of the above is binding based on the existing treaty with the One Sith. If the treaty with the One Sith dissolves then all of the above is null and void and the following will happen:

Red Ravens will take full control of any facilities and shipyards covered by this MSA. Krayt Industry will surrender joint access to the Isotope-5 mining facilities and any back stock of material.

Any immediate termination of this contract by Krayt Industries requires a 30-day notice period and after 30-days Red Ravens will take full control of any facilities and shipyards covered by this MSA. Krayt Industry will surrender joint access to the Isotope-5 mining facilities and any back stock of material.

The Red Ravens reserve the right to terminate this contract at any time for any reason.

Hearing the ping from her datapad, Taeli smiled as she read through the contract. It seemed very straight forward, and while it was slightly leaning towards the Ravens' favor, she didn't mind. Expansion was needed, and she wasn't too worried about the treaty being violated any time soon. It helped when several members of the faction were now Sith themselves.

Regardless, she pulled out a digital stylus and signed her name on the contract and sent it back to [member="Tmoxin Temi"] to be finalized by her and her boss. It was always a pleasure doing business people like them, people who understood money and business were important, even if there was a power beyond even what money could buy.

Wondering what she wanted to do first, she decided to take some credits with her to the casino and play some sabacc if they had it.
