Making the Jump- ACT I- Red Ravens, The Reaver Campaign

Location: The mountains

Objective: Investigate sudden intrusion into our world.
DMing, Team 1

"Did you see that mi'lord!" Markath the Reaver hissed.

"I have seen it. It is as had been foretold, the strangers have come to our world to lead us back to the galaxy ready the warbands, we march at dawn!"

"Yes Mi'lord."

The twisted mutilated creature lumbered away, moving towards the large hutt at the end of the camp. They were a small outpost in the mountains, mostly for hunting flesh and securing minerals in the mines. Markath was clad in a gruesome bone armour, consisting of several skulls and clothing made of stitched skins of his enemies. Twin scimatars and a single large slugthrower of twisted bone and steel adorned his sides.

A shrunken head was affixed to his banner. He was the herald of the camp and the sinister beings that lived in solitude and savagery upon the planet.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Summary:

The Reavers have seen your vessel crash and they now awaken their twisted warriors, preparing to march towards the canyons and investigate the crashed vessel. All across the camp the dim lanterns made of skull are being lit. It is night. A watchful eye might catch the dim lights on the top of the peaks.

Make your moves.

Objective: survive and not freak out

Asteria stumbled down the corridor as soon as Colap called to make their way to the bridge. At least nothing was broken this time, but she felt like she got hit by a speeder. She eventually found her way to the bridge after a few wrong turns and walked straight over to [member="Colap Ticon"] and asked him, "What the feth just happened?" Trying not to freak out at him.

There was a beautiful view from the viewport on the bridge of a mountain range. Her sharp eyes could make out the peaks and the foothills. Such a pretty sight for one who had been deprived of a view like that for a little while.

Cryax unbuckled himself from his swivel chair and limped to the armory. He donned a power suit and grabbed a carbine blaster rifle, then went back to the bridge. Over his commlink the Chiss gave the order for Jen, Faye, Asteria and Ice to gear up and follow him to the main ramp. There they would form a search party for the other ship and move out immediately.

It was night on the strange, unknown planet. Not the best time of day for finding a lost ship. Cryax wondered if they should wait until morning, but knew that they didn’t have any time to lose. He himself had many scheduled meetings on Antecedent, meetings with dangerous people who he didn’t want to anger with a sudden cancellation. As he descended the main ramp down to the planet’s surface, he looked out into the night. As a Chiss, Cryax had improved vision in the darkness. He thought he saw faint flickers of light all along the mountain peaks. As he waited for his team to assemble, he stared at those lights and wondered if their makers were friend or foe.

The Sith surveyed the carnage on the bridge, many were dead or soon to be among the dying, those were beyond even his help. But for the few who could be helped, Daxton offered what succor he could offer. With a sure steady efficiency, he went through his medical supply of morphine, injecting the Ravens that survived to deaden their pain and allow more mobile members to bind their wounds and check for ruptured organs.

Mumbling softly under his breath, he closed the eyes of his last patient, as life fled from the young Raven's gaze. The boy was crying for his mother, as if she could make the pain go away, only a complete fool would believe such rubbish anyway.

When [member="Colap Ticon"] began talking about a mission, he simply nodded and said, " You will need me if we are going to recover the items. I will join Cryax's team and I can have my droids stay and bolster our defenses."

Location: On board the now crashed Resolute Raven
Objective: Survive, regroup

Muttering to herself about how ships always seemed to crash with her on board, Keira wove through what halls of the Raven were still navigable after the rather unorthodox landing they had taken, making her way first to the bridge in order to reconvene with everyone. If there was one thing she'd learned from her first crash on Enigma Prime it was that knowledge of everyones current condition was paramount, and the rest could and did come after that. It seemed everyone had walked away from things relatively unscathed this time around, which was something they could all be thankful for. With the very real possibility of more than a few hostiles on this planet, they would need all hands on deck in terms of the defensive.

Thankfully she'd walked away with just a few bruises and scrapes, or so her rudimentary assessment had told her. An allover soreness was preferable to any serious injuries, and she was still perfectly capable of fighting to defend herself or others if necessary. Right now, survival was the priority, but as she gauged the condition of the ship in her passage down the corridors it was becoming more and more obvious that there was no way anyone would be leaving the planet anytime soon, unless a miracle was of a mind to take place. This would require some major repairs, but if she'd heard right, even that was a possibility.

Finally having arrived at the bridge she took a quick survey of the scene, the losses here heavier than in any other area of the ship. It seemed that another Raven, [member="Daxton Bane"], was already giving what help he could offer, so she simply took time to more carefully review her current physical state, finishing with a makeshift diagnostic of her cybernetic left arm, finding that even that still functioned as it had before. With that out of the way, all there was left to do was await orders.

There were two major hull breeches and one minor. As long as the apropriate bulkheads were sealed and checked they wouldn't keep the ship from being space worthy, assuming the major repairs could be made. If the bulkheads cutting off these areas weren't checked however, the Ravens ran the risk of losing their oxygen as soon as the ship broke atmo. The minor breech, a gash about seven feet high and two feet wide was down a corridor from the command bridge. One of the major breeches was located in one of the hangars, just big enough that if they hadn't also been worse for the wear one of the fighters could have taken off without scraping off anything too important on the way out. The other major breech was one bulkhead away from the reactor and spanned two floors.

Add to this a number of small electrical fires and the wounded that littered the ship, many of whom were in critical condition, and the Ravens had a lot of work set out for them, even assuming there were no interruptions and the salvaging team was successful...

Objective: Don't follow the lights(gollum reference) but follow Cryax

Asteria followed Cryax down to the hangar, and walked out into the night, sighing at the sight of the stars, feeling their blessing to her people strengthening her soul and body, speaking the exact opposite of what Cryax was thinking, "Perfect time of night to go out and fi-" She stopped talking when she too noticed the lights, her sharp vision enhanced by the stars and the moon.

Asteria frowned and turned to look back at [member="Cryax Bane"], "Who or what do you think that is?"

Activating some screens on his helmet's HUD to grant him both thermal and low light vision, the Sith joined the rest of the team forming a search party. Slinging his rifle off his shoulder, he casually held it at allow angle as he scanned the horizon for possible hostiles.

"Until we know more we have to consider the locals as probably hostiles. Best to avoid them all together if we can. Based on the condition of the ship and crew, you can't say anyone would be spoiling for a fight right abut now?"

"Ok, those parts aren't going to fetch themselves," said the Chiss. "Let's move out." Carefully pushing forward through the terrain, his Lifeform Scanner held out in front of him, its green light pulsing across the landscape. The scanner didn't pick up too many sentient critters, here and there a bird or an animal, but nothing alarming. The landscape was rough and rocky with scrubby tangled underbrush. Thorny plants scraped at the surface of his power suit. He nearly jumped a few feet in the air as a six-legged rat scampered in front of him. Cryax blinked his glowing red eyes back towards the string of lights near the canyon. What on Antecedent would possess any sentient beings to live on such an ugly planet?

Cryax turned to the Force users in the group. "Do you sense anything we should be concerned about? Any weirdo disturbances in the Force?" Even though to the Chiss, the Force was gobbledygook that science couldn't explain, he still remained in awe of its power.

Objective: get fuel canisters and techy stuff

Asteria wasn't a force user, but she had that uneasy feeling you get when you're being watched, and she felt like Cryax was feeling it too. "You've seen the lights to, sir? They look odd, and I don't like it. They look unfriendly, but I could be mistaken. What do you think, sir?" She looked up at them again, her figure barely visible in the waining moon.

Daxton signalled them for the group to halt, as he studied the lights near the canyon. Reaching out to the Force he could sense the presence of the dark side, so he increased the magnification of his helm to its maximum night vision capacity. After several moments of study he said, "There is a strong presence of the dark side lurking about. How long it will remain dormant I cannot say, best we do not linger too long. I would suggest to increase our chances you allow me to extend a mind link to each one of you."

To those that agree, Daxton would extend the protection of his Battle Mind meditation to encompass them as well. For those whose minds he touches, there is a brief and fleeting sensation of coldness, a sense of unnatural thoughts, before all their senses become more clear and heightened. In addition, they would get a broad idea where each person is in relation to their own position. A sense of calm and efficiency premeata their actions, as if they had a good rest and decent meal before hand.

Once the link is complete, Daxton would shoulder his weapon again and indicate that they should hurry with heir objectives.
