Honestly? At the current rate of success, closing it won't matter. Of course eventually activity will fall back for the OS, but as is, I don't forsee it being open as a problem. It is however, when those in charge say one thing, then later when chance arises, say another.

That was my point. It was stated that it would close, not eventually, but when those planets needed to fill it were dommed.

And the whole 'my verdict is final'? Gotta love Facism, especially when democracy is the idea thrown at us. Why say 'your vote' or mention the community if everytime something happens you blatantly state it is all your decision?

Not trying to be truculent, just a continued theme I have noticed.

It was stated that dominioning the last planet would fill the space, they never said when or how quickly. As was stated before, it will close over time, whether that's what you want to hear or not. Nobody said one thing and did something different - they are doing exactly what they said they would do, regardless of what you might have originally assumed by the initial response you received.

*shrug* I doubt it was just me. Seemingly the basic mass of the OS was under the understanding I reached as well. I just so happen to have the urge to have work put forth to reach a goal, actually meet said goal.

In the end it comes down to they said - no scratch that, as you wish to negate my previous statements, they implied one thing that did not happen. If a person in the reals said hey, do this, and I will give yiu candies - with a hundred witnesses - it becomes a binding verbal contract. If said employer than attempts to give lemon juice in place of gooey delicious candies? Legal matters can ensue.

Can or will the same apply here? Obviously not, as online statements are no where near as binding, nor is it a realistic outcome. In the end, i guess my comments will mean nothing, as those others that feel the same will either stay quiet or confront me to not go against the tyrannical regime that is Tefka.

I had just assumed that the person who did the map update didn't realize and then they scrambled "Quick, come up with something smart to cover this up." I didn't think conspiracy. That is a new one.

There was no scrambling. Chris put it off to address it next update because we're in different timezones right now. I declared how I wanted it done, Chris offered no objection, Staff is not (nor has ever been) consulted on the map, there are no rules for this exact reason.

The map game has few rules because its not a precise art. However, Staff is currently debating possible new ways to do it.
