Massive Training Thread

During my time as a Fringe member, Jon held many group training events, and it aided a lot of people that did not have much experience in combat/Force Usage. Masters and Knights with specialties (such as Ashin Varanins usage of Force Lightning, and I believe it was Spencer that taught Mentalism) aided in teaching said techniques as well as defenses against them.

I feel this could be more than useful. Would anyone actually want to attempt this with me? I'm thinking of asking personally but still, I am asking the Public.

I don't recall ever seeing a true mass thread in OS. Not a bad idea though and something I think could be cool but.................. -looks at Acolyte tag- not something I can change at the moment.

However both of the training threads I have done so far with Vengeance have been open and public. It is just that nobody joins them. I have done a Form VII thread and a Force Lightening thread so far.

The next one I intend to do is a Makashi thread that I sincerely hope the god of Makashi training threads *cough* [member="Reverance"] *cough* will make an appearance in.

When I had Arturious Engel I think I had either 4 or 5 Acolytes I was trying to train at once some times in group threads.

Great idea though.

Dont have to be a Knight or Higher to train a class. Self training is by yourself imagine what you could discover by a group of people all interested in the same thing. A bunch of acolytes trying to preform an ability or refining their saber skills it all leads to progress either way.

Yeah.. [member="Vengeance"]

Not sure if you are addressing this at me or just agreeing with my previous comment.

Lol then you should have read the rest of that post where it says all of my "Self" training threads have been public and also advertised in the pinned looking for Master thread.

The quoted comment was more to address the semi-unavoidable state of mind that Acolyte characters largely will not jump at doing training threads without a Knight or Master overseeing them. The GR Jedi do them frequently or they did in the past but it has not translated well here in OS.

Not complaining by any means just acknowledging a hurdle that has not yet been conquered. :)

I'm looking to do this after the GR vs OS invasion ends, possibly sooner, but I am planning on doing a group training thread for Sith Alchemy skills. It's going to be a Faction thread with objectives for all levels making Alchemy-related things. There will be the opportunity to learn from a teacher, as well as do your own experimentation in the thread.

Everyone will be welcome to join that thread once it's up.

I'll be joining the alchemy thread.

Gotta make those Sith Sword with blood magics after all.

Gonna be on my loa here in a bit though, but once I get back I'm sure I can teach something with lightsabers in a mass training thread.

I'm no god of Makashi though <.<

I think I am going to postpone this until [member="Reverance"] can aid. I don't think my alt would be the greatest solo teacher

Lol I wouldn't mind rpin with an old acquaintance. But the question is, other than Lightsaber skills, what can you teach? I'm thinking of making the thread a big dodge this and that as it comes your way kind of thread. If you can use lightning, create a massive barrage. If your a shaper, use the elements. Tk, mentalism, etc.

It needs to be something the apprentices will need to work together to overcome, with the final lessons learned being how they survived it. IE while with the Fringe they used lightning to barrage the whole group, and thus those that walked away had learned to counter it in minuscule ways.
