Master and padawan requests

Ylva Alfrún

"Wolf Who Possess Hidden Knowledge"
I would like to offer this character up as an instructor based on my experience as a writer and history with the faction. Ylva's foci are located in intellectual pursuits such as medicine, engineering and education, as well as Force User history and philosophy. She is not a combat character, and as such her level of "Mastery" is based on my 10+ year history as an RP writer.
She has knowledge and experience in a great many Force abilities, but they are typically passive, non-violent, or directive in nature. I.e. She's not much of a fighter and won't be electrocuting anyone.

I think you can do that in the sense that you treat her as a npc and only use her as a teacher and dont RP with her elsewhere. I think...

Well she'll be a character, in her own sense, just starting her official RP journey late in her life. I'll be conducting my own RP's with her as the focus point, but she won't be deployed in combat-oriented threads like invasions, etc. Basically, I'll use her to a realistic extent in threads that are story driven, but when it comes to conflict-threads with set objectives and win/loss goals, I won't be using her; that would be unfair.

Totally fine by me, but I have admittingly never tried that myself. So to be sure, I would have checked in with a RPJ just to be sure.

[member="Arisa Yune"]: I would certainly agree! Ylva is primarily an educator, so her involvement in RP will in academic discussion and dialogue, negotiation, diplomacy, reform, etc. She talks a lot, and thinks even more than she says.
We could focus RP around an education in medicine for Arisa, as the relationship should be focused on the student.

On the side, Ylva is a philosopher constructing her own Sith Path, one of non-violence and peace. If that's something you are interested in for Arisa, then we'll already have the groundwork laid as Ylva's student.

That would be fine. It looks like I can find you at the temple for special studies, while I go run around with another knight in the field.

About the the Sith teachings, you'll have to be careful in the way that you present them to her. I'm open to it, but just know you may be getting some eyeballs on you from people associated with her in the process. I'll let you choose how and when you would like to present that philosophy to her.

I will make a post where Initially I approach your character for some more healing training. In this area, Arisa is experienced, having worked in the field for years as a combat medic.

The introduction to the philosophy will be gradual, if it foments into abject exposure at all (which is up to you, it's not something I should just be dropping on another writer's character after agreeing to work with theirs). It'll mainly consist of learning Arisa's standing beliefs and values, then coalesce into challenging them. Academic discussions regarding more general issues, rather than going, "Hey, you wanna to read some Sith?"
Keep in mind as well that the philosophical aspects of Ylva's teaching is rooted in pacifism, it's simply distanced from Jedi Code teachings and more focused on Sith values of personal strength. It's also a work in progress, as she's only spent the last several IC years developing these ideals.

I look forward to getting started with you!

Looking at both characters, that could make an interesting master/padawan relationship. Especially with the water thing.

I try not to take too many full time padawans, but I am always willing to thread with you.

Sorry mate, Alyona's not much of an educator. Too much of a Field Jedi. lol Though if you ever really want to stick her with some extra responsibility, she could time it during an invasion.

OOC Translation: I don't do training threading, it's boring and I want to shoot myself. But throw me padawan characters during an invasion or a skirmish and they'll learn through ass-kicking exercises.
