Description: The MC-d1001 Tarpon-class Heavy Defensive Battery is the culmination of the Mon Calamari Shipyards defensive weapon systems project. It houses two short range fast tracking, repeating light turbolaser cannons on ball mounts which can engage light capital vessels as well as attack craft. Eight point defense lasers mounted on fast mounts are intended to act as point defense from incoming projectiles as well as attack craft.
The battery contains its own dedicated capacitor bank which provide the power needed to keep the rapid fire weapon systems fed with energy. Gas regulators are also included which keep a constant flow of gas fed tot he weapons from the Gas storage deep inside the host vessel.
