Description:
Looking to supplement income from the stockpile of reserve ships kept in the MCS dry Dock, Admiral Reshmar ordered the modification of all ancient Dreadnaught Class Heavy Cruisers to the improved MK VII standard.
Rebuilt from the frame up the old Dreadnaught heavy cruisers, these vessels have had their frames fortified and triple braced with quadranium bracing. Alusteel was then installed as the inner hull of the vessel. Ablative Quadranium Steel Plating was then layered over the alusteel in armored belts increasing the armor quality of the vessel to current MCS technology standards. The resulting vessel was reclassified as the MCE62 Repellent-class. While much of the prow and forward hull is covered in ablative quadranium steel plating, much of the amidships and aft are not layered in the ablative armor leaving it more vulnerable to attack from heavy capital fire.
Standard Mon Calamari Triple Redundancy shielding was then installed to further increase the defensive profile of the vessel. Multiple redundant systems further improve the vessels defense against ion based weapons and spatial anomaly and slicing attacks from external networks. Anti-concussion fields round out the vessels defensive systems protecting the vessel from projectile strikes.
Heavy Defensive batteries replace many of the offensive weapon systems giving the vessel improves defensive capabilities against attack craft and incoming projectiles as well as work in its main role as escort by defending other vessels against these attacks.
Offensively, the class has Mon Calamari turbolaser batteries which house six cannons each for increased single weapon power, heavy and standard warhead launchers capable of launching any types of warheads launchable by these sze systems. and EWAR weapons to decrease the enemies tactical effectiveness.
A single hanger is located on the ventral hull that can accommodate a single squadron of fighters and two large transports up to thirty meters in size. Normal composition of the onboard squadron is two four fighter flights of attack craft and one flight of support craft.
