Memories of the past {Polaris Sovereign}

Iceis raised an eyebrow at her sister's comment. She didn't feel offended, she couldn't care less if she was or was not cool but what she was wondering was why it was so important for Polaris. And mom was cool...

"I think worrying over being cool makes you un-cool" She said and stood up on the bed before giving a little jump to get down. She started walking over to the door. "I am going to have dinner, you can come if you want" She informed her sister.

The battle to understand Polaris' reasoning was lost and as long as she didn't cry or hurt herself Iceis would avoid the confusion it made her feel. She walked out of the chambers and took the hallway that lead to the hall, then to the dining room. She sat at the table, wishing her mother was there to dine with her.

Now left to her thoughts, Polaris thought long and hard about what made a person cool. She was kind of cool, not like the rest of her family. The rest of them were hot, on fire hot. Smoking hot. She curled up in her sheets and closed her eyes.

Dinner could wait another day. She didn't need to eat, not when she was too worried about being cool. Drifting away into a dream in the middle night, she plopped into a small sleeping daze.

Servants walked around, making sure everything was fine. She had grown accustomed to their presence simply because they had learnt that she wasn't really keen of having everything done by them. She was more...lonely and therefore, independent.

Once she was finished eating she stood up and trotted to her chambers. Once inside, she started going through the books she had in her room until she found the one she wanted. Not in the mood to read any of them she grabbed a datapad. It was a Dathomirian story.

Iceis had trouble reading it, it hadn't been long since she had asked her Mother if she could start learning the language of the Witched of Dathomir and she still had a lot to improve. Long minutes went by and she still was reading the second paragraph of the archive stored in the datapad. Absoute silence filled her room.

After many minutes of thinking and almost crying to herself, Polaris had fallen asleep on her bed with an empty stomach to keep her company. Her eyes had dried tears on them, and her body laid limp and sprawled in her day time clothing.

She dreamed, that very night, of her whole family being cool. Being pirates, raiding and looting, plundering their own family name for riches and pies.

It was all fine, until she began to wake up once more...

Finally she had reached the end. It had tired her enough as to feel the sluggish feeling of drowsiness weighting down on her upper eyelids. Suddenly, her mind sprung back again to work. The perks of her Andre'al heritage.

She started thinking once more about Polaris and her apparent discontentment with their family. In her opinion they had an excellent family, a cool (as Polaris had defined) family but for what today's experiences had proven, her sibling did not feel the same way. It was either that or they both had very different definitions of cool. Probably both.

But then a sudden, very different and unknown feeling struck deep in the heart of the cold and sometimes even...lifeless young princess. It was anguish. And although Iceis did not recognize the feeling, she hated how it felt. It was too ugly to be felt. And she ran as if her life depended on it, storming into her sister's chambers once again.

"Polaris!" She almost shouted. Iceis never, ever shouted. The image of her raising her voice should have been considered a miracle of sorts. "D-do you want us?" She asked, completely out of the blue. Still, she felt like she wasn't being clear enough and so rephrased her question, "I mean, do you care for us?" She was referring to their family of course.

Apparently Polaris' previous comments had struck home on her sister and now Iceis was questioning the affection of her sister for their family.

The sound of a stranger's voice filled Polaris' ears. She jolted awake, struggling to focus her eyes on the sound that interrupted her dreams. Though her sister was there, she did not primarily recognize her for the loud voice that previously called her name. Slowly, her priorities got straightened back into reorganization.

There was a question... A question that didn't mean much to Polaris, at that. Her first response was to ask why she was woken up for it, but then determined something of such volume was beckoned to be answered before questions that could soon answer themselves. "N-no, I don't care about us. Why?" She asked, in an innocent and tired tone.
