STRENGTHS
  • Strong Deflector Shields: Due to its nature the Merji-class possesses powerful deflector shields to withstand a good deal of direct damage, but enough sustained fire will eventually wear it down to nothing.
  • Substantial Holding Cells: The Merji-class was designed to hold a great wealth of prisoners on behalf of the Sith Empire, with the chief idea being to hold their Jedi enemies. Thus many of the ship's systems were designed to keep Jedi from breaking out of their cells and taking over the ship.
WEAKNESSES
  • Not Designed For Naval Combat: The Merji-class is merely a prison transport, nothing more. It's not fast and lightly armed and can be an easy target if not properly escorted by stronger more capable vessels.
  • No Escape Pods: To prevent prisoner escape during transit, the Dungeon Ship was designed without escape pods.
DESCRIPTION

With a war against the defenders of the light approaching fast on the horizon, the Sith Empire knew that it needed a ship capable of transporting any extremely hostile Force-sensitive POWs from the battlefield to more secure cells within their territory. Thus the idea of a dungeon ship was conceived. The Emperor of the Sith, Darth Carnifex, had worked with the idea of dungeon ships ever since the Adasean Black Crusades when he and Darth Hauntruss launched a preemptive strike against the Jedi in the aftermath of the Netherworld Crisis. Hundreds of Jedi were captured and executed in the wake of their Crusade, with dozens of Jedi Temples in the Core Worlds and Colonies being sacked and ultimately destroyed.

Sad'Ist Dungeon Cruisers were designed to accompany their war fleets as they descended upon hapless Jedi Bastions, but they were ultimately limited in number and often were not a part of most scourings. Most of the existing ships were either lost or destroyed when the One Sith Empire collapsed following the Dark Lord's permanent death, but the ideas of such vessels lived on in the minds of Sith like Darth Carnifex. It was he who would ultimately revive the idea during the rise of the Sith Empire, designing and overseeing the construction of these horrific vessels.

These new vessels are capable of containing a great many numbers of prisoners, both Force-Sensitive and not, and are guarded by five hundred Imperial Dungeoneers accompanied by M1 Battle Droids and Scourge Mk. I Battle Droids. S1 Medical Droids had been reprogrammed and repurposed for the sole purpose of torture and brutality, their limbs outfitted with various tools of butchery designed to inflict as much pain as possible while simultaneously prolonging prisoner's lives despite how much injury is inflicted upon them.

The Dungeon Ship is also equipped with a large airlock to not only dispose of bodies but can be used to vent up to fifty prisoners at any given time.
