Militant Jedi?

Militant Jedi are the worst. Putting innocent folks at risk. Just go look and look at Nar Shaddaa. Gotta invade the place to rescue 3 Padawans who weren't even in prison, and neglected to get off world. 3 people to over 500 billion lives at risk, a wee bit of an unreasonable response.

Context is pretty important. Those three Jedi (2 Knights and a Padawan) were on a diplomatic mission. One which resulted in their deaths being GM'd (obviously altered). They did not provoke attack. Just said "yo, we're gonna be making a move on the Sith Empire. You probably should not get involved with them." Well, they attacked the diplomats. You know what that is? An act of war. So the Republic put that crap down. Just sayin'. Context is mad important.

Here's the thing about military Jedi, kids, and I feel like [member="Caid Centurion"] is about to love the hell out of me for this.

The military, in general, is not a stupid thing. They have this thing (at least in the US) called the Uniform Code of Military Justice and another thing worldwide called Rules of Engagement. If a Jedi serving in the military obeys both of these things, or at least the Republic equivalent? The chances of them going Dark and doing something ridiculously stupid lowers dramatically.

It's actually more often that not idiotic fools who don't play by the rules that screw up, and by extension set up all y'all are saying.

[member="Graxin Rade"] [member="Ta'mur Rokar"] - The Silver Jedi were created because, at least at the time, the Republic were the militant ones. They were aggressively expanding left and right, and the Jedi Order was at the helm. Some of us didn't like seeing the Jedi become just another beast of war, so we left.

I'm not even talking about the Silvers; me and a bunch of other writers left the Republic way before the Silvers for the same reason and formed the Silent Conclave, which is now the Levantine Sanctum.

[member="Thurion Heavenshield"] - Honestly? It's the downside of a personal competitive environment. You're putting people against people. Hell, I was there. Hell, I (as Qae) helped found the Silent Conclave. I think it's just a matter of common sense. At that point in time, none was being shown. People were being chased out of the Jedi Order by certain elements who took control. You know what? It happens. Welcome to people having opinions. I don't blame 'em.

All it means is that those who want common sense to prevail should just bear in mind things like how a Jedi would respond to certain wartime situations. Like not murdering babies. That helps.

1) wrong face, scrublord ;)
2) The whole Wu Tang thing actually wasn't me. The incredibly talented and my partner in crime [member="Ben Watts"] was the one to introduce me to the Wu Tang Clan and their music. It's actually his tagline. As his clone, I inherit what he does. Since I made Zane, I've come to appreciate the W.

:p

They're okay, I guess...

No one was ever chased out. No one was told to leave. No one was told they did not belong. They chose to leave.

Also of importance. This "aggressive expansion" was the destruction of the Sith empire. Sooooooo. Check facts before you listen to the butt hurt.
