Accessibility: Located within the Confederate Capital, the main building’s first and second floors remain open to the public, while higher floors and other portions of the facility remain restricted, with varying degrees of security, to authorized personnel only.
Description: A large and impressive, even ‘stately’ complex, located in the heart of Golbah City, the headquarters complex of the Ministry of Science is a tangible testimony to science and technology. From sprawling offices to laboratories, workshops, medical facilities, and much more, it is a wonder of modern technological achievement, design, and architecture.

The Hearthstone Restaurant & Lounge:
With its art deco styling and opulent aura, the Hearthstone Restaurant is one of the most impressive features of the Ministry’s Headquarters. Used for all manner of events, the privately-run restaurant and lounge boasts nightly entertainment, a five-star menu, a large selection of wines and top-shelf liquors as well as craft beers from across the Confederacy. Noted for excellent service and incredible atmosphere, the Hearthstone is the perfect oasis for hard-working Ministry officials, scientists, technicians and engineers, and also a popular venue for weddings, receptions, gala events, charity fundraisers, and more to the people of Golbah City.
National Space Exploration Museum / Center for Science & Technology:

A sixteen-thousand square meter museum, paying homage to the history of spaceflight, exploration, and advancement across the galaxy, the National Space Museum is open daily and houses both permanent and rotating exhibits, interactive holo-films and displays, virtual reality experiences, and more than 11,000 rare and amazing artifacts celebrating space travel across the millennia. Adjacent to this, the Center for Science and Technology showcases the works of the Ministry of Science, ranging from humanitarian technologies, communications, military, exploratory, medical science, and much, much more. Visitors can see and interact with the Ministry’s projects both past and present. A popular gift shop is located near the entrance to this area on the first floor, boasting products from across the Confederacy.
Agricultural Sciences:

The largest of its kind ever built, the Ministry’s agricultural sciences complex, located on the lower floors, boasts grey-water, aquaponics, hydroponics, aeroponics, and botanical research laboratories, livestock facilities, and much, much more. Able to produce enough food to feed 87% of Golbah City each year, the Ministry devotes a large portion of its budget to developing agricultural, botanical, and conservation sciences. The ‘Green’ nature of the entire Ministry showcases many of these technologies, and together with its molecular furnaces and recycling systems, the Ministry is entirely self-sufficient.
Droid & Cybernetics Division Facilities:
Here, cutting-edge cybernetics and droid technologies are being advanced every day, enabling breakthroughs in prosthetics, cybernetic implants, and development of new and terrific droid and A.I. technologies. Able to produce a number of different models every day, the facility also performs on-site testing, and works closely with the state-of the heart medical sciences facility and other departments housed inside the Ministry’s mammoth headquarters.
Ministry Health Sciences & Bio-Medical Facility:
One of the galaxy’s largest – and arguably its most advanced – research and teaching hospitals, this facility can house more than 5,000 patients and boasts full-range treatment, therapy, and preventative medical facilities, as well as laboratories, classrooms, medical libraries, and more. Every day, the Ministry works to improve the health and lives of beings and species across the galaxy, combating epidemics, solving challenging medical mysteries, and training physicians and researchers who will fight and cure tomorrow’s ills. From pharmaceuticals to surgical techniques to preventative health practices, this facility is one of the finest in the galaxy and more, due to patients' participation in furthering the studies and ongoing work to improve health and medicine, there is no cost for treatment here: Simply sign the waivers, noting you are a voluntary participant and are willing to submit to cutting-edge treatments and procedures, and you will never be asked to pay even a single credit!
In addition, the Ministry also has studies into xeno-biology, veterinary science, biological studies, and more within this wing!

Minister of Science John Locke’s personal office is a cavernous facility, located on the uppermost floors of the complex. Set with every imaginable amenity, including a private residential suite, droid servants and secretarial pool, and more, Minister Locke is able to command and control the entire Ministry and its many diverse operations and divisions from this office. Hyperwave communications offer him near-instant access to media and communications and enable encrypted tele-conferencing almost anywhere in the galaxy. The ideal venue for high-level meetings, it is adjacent to conference rooms, lecture halls, and the complex's massive recreational wing, which includes training rooms, a massive pool, gymnasium, and more for Ministry employees to relax, stay in shape, and unease the burden of building a better galaxy every single day!
Deputy Minister T'shkali's Office:
Serving also as the consular-general of the Dagatan Free State, Baroness T’shkali is the CIS’ Deputy Minister of Science. Combining the location of her world’s embassy with her office gives the entire complex a permanent diplomatic immunity, making it an ideal location for diplomatic negotiations, international summits, and third-party business arrangements. Also housing a residential suite, the Baroness’ office is located on the floor below Minister Locke’s.

The entire complex is protected by heavy deflector shields (Particle and Energy), as well as by Confederacy of Independent Systems troops, assigned to protect the Ministry of Science. Additionally, the facility has extensive security throughout, from powerful advanced scanners and sensors to biometrics to armed guards and cameras. Also, certain areas, such as medical facilities and laboratories are protected by osmotic shields and other technologies aimed at preventing biological, chemical, or similar contaminations, etc. A number of interceptor starfighters are found garrisoned at the landing facilities, and surface-to-air missile turret systems, point defense turbolasers, and heavy ion cannons are also featured into the complex’s defensive strategy.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Completed after a total of two years’ construction, the Ministry of Science complex is one of the most advanced examples of technology and design in the galaxy. Acting as the nerve center for the Ministry’s extensive operations, it sits as a jewel in the Golbah City skyline. Funded and made self-sufficient by literally thousands of patents, investments, and other ventures throughout the Confederacy and across the galaxy, the budget of the Ministry of Science is far and away the largest in the entire Confederacy, save perhaps only for military spending. The Ministry sought to establish a headquarters which would work in tandem with universities, private concerns, and the numerous other departments, divisions, and ministries within the CIS, as well as showcase to the citizens of the Confederacy the Ministry’s many efforts and stimulate interest and support for them.
