DESCRIPTION

Full of bad grammar, poor handwriting, and rambling half-thoughts, this personal notebook was used to order and organize the thoughts of Mishka Larraq as she researched the numerous Sith, Jedi, and Witch crafting techniques that others throughout the galaxy had been so inclined as to record for posterity. Beginning with several dozen pages of rough notes, the material eventually becomes more detailed towards the middle of the notebook as the writer gains a better grasp of the fundamental properties behind a wide range of mystical crafting techniques. Towards the end of this section, there are several notes about struggling to locate specific crystals, failing to tell different types of crystals from one another, struggling to find the creatures referenced in several source books, nearly dying once the creatures in the source books found her, failed alchemy rituals, successful alchemy rituals and remorse over the act, the struggles of not falling asleep while meditating, techniques to prevent falling asleep while meditating, the asinine difficulty of accessing a holocron, the utter absurdity of Sith and Witch rituals and the number of candles needed to complete them, and a dream in which she swears she summoned and spoke with a ghost.

During these initial pages, and in a handful of later pages, the notebook is full of quotes as well as page, paragraph, and sentence references to the following books.
  • Defense Against the Dark Arts: A Guide for Mando'ade
  • Clan Rekali's Comprehensive Guide to Ritual Magic for the Mando'ade Novice
  • Darkside Rituals for the Aspiring Knight
  • Words that Kill: A Study on Sith Runes
  • Wild Power: Talismans and Totems
  • Jal Shey Artifacts: What are they and How do They Work?
  • Lightsaber Alternatives: Force Imbuement Self-Training for Jedi Knights
  • Lightsaber Crystals: A Comprehensive Guide
  • Alchemy 101
  • Wild Power: Natur's Vigor
  • Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
Much later in the notebook, the material becomes more and more focused upon the three specific crafting techniques of Dathomiri Talisman Creation, Jal Shey Imbuement, and Sith Rune Engravings. As these scribblings continue, the rambling thoughts and crude drawings are replaced by a much more thorough documentation of the fundamental properties and advanced aspects of the three mystic crafting techniques to hold Mishka's focus. Included in these pages are several breakdowns and a detailed analysis of the fundamental shapes and intricate angles of talisman faces and how they compare to Sith ritual circles, as well as several pages covering the importance of clarity of thought while constructing artifacts and the importance of channeling intent into an enchantment or engraving as opposed to relying purely upon the specific words and sentences themselves.

The pages towards the end of the notebook catalog several experiments with translating Sith Runes into different forms of Mando'a, several excited and hastily written pages about successes translating these runes into the ancient Taung language, and several detailed notes about experimental rituals and crafting attempts utilizing the written and verbal dialect of the ancient Taung instead of the Sith language (as well as a few wild theories as to why modern and ancient Mando'a failed to serve as a viable medium). These are followed by many intricate and detailed drawings of ritual circles and talisman faces utilizing the ancient Taung dialect and several notes about adjustments made to various patterns.

The final pages of the notebook contain several drafts and detailed notes on increasingly complex and ambitious artifact designs, the success and failure of different designs, and a few scribbled comments on the practical troubles of taking untested equipment into a live-fire engagement.
