Missiles and Monsters (Gir Quee)

Mrrew nodded. He briefly thought it was slightly inhumane to make the droid almost surely get ripped apart as a flesh (or metal) shield while they survived... then he realized he'd just blown up an astrodroid ot wake it up. There was a huge difference between memory wiped droids, and those allowed to develop personalities. He assumed the MULE droid, like the now deceased aastrodroid, belonged to the first category. "Then off we go into a Jedi killer's lair."

[member="Gir Quee"]

Gir nodded and strolled over to the MULE droid to unsaddle the mechanical beast of burden from its load of missiles. There was no sense in losing those too, if the droid did end up meeting its untimely demise in the caverns below. Gir slowly loosened the harness, letting it slowly hit the ground with a muted clank. Gir gestured for the simple droid to rise, which it promptly did. The man then pointed towards the cavern entrance. The mechanic beast began to roll into the entrance, followed by Gir with his PLEX resting on his right shoulder.

Mrrew smiled, and followed in behind [member="Gir Quee"] and the droid. Hopefully they'd find the thing... There were no more bellow sand growls signaling where it was. By now the SmartTranq would've taken effect. Hopefully all they'd have to do was follow and cage an extremely groggy Leviathon that oculd do little more then lie there. But when did things like that ever work out as planned?

Gir carefully followed behind the MULE droid as it rolled through the cavern. It was a surprisingly loud endeavor as the droid's wheels ran over countless small shards of rock and seemingly hit every little dip in the tunnel's floor. Yet nothing appeared to harass them. Almost a hundred meters down the tunnel's entrance, the trio entered a larger chamber occupied primarily by what Gir first thought was some sort of rock formation.

But it wasn't.

"Looks like it's still breathing," said Gir quietly, gingerly approaching the sithspawn.

Its tail suddenly flopped over to the left. Before anything more could transpire, Gir tapped the trigger of his launcher. The Calmant missile smashed into the prone leviathan at almost point-blank range, this time embedding itself in the creature's right flank. The creature briefly twitched before falling still again. If the leviathan wasn't drugged enough before, it certainly was now. Gir sheepishly grinned. Perhaps that was overkill, but I have no interest in even the possibility of becoming leviathan food. The man from Hast slowly lowered the weapon and turned towards the Togorian.

"I think it's safe to say that it'll be out for a little bit," said Gir, gently lowering the launcher to the ground, "I'm going to take a few samples. Would you mind getting it wrapped up? There's a stun net in the MULE droid's chest cavity. I figure that we wrap it up and have the MULE droid take it out to the ship. It might take a bit of time, but I'd rather have us be ready with our weapons in case it wakes up."

Gir cautiously approached the creature and drew out the field lab kit from his cargo pants before getting to work.

Mrrew's first reaction to seeing the Leviathon was relief. He was confident that if it wasn't moving it wasn't going to. SmartTranq was an amazing thing. However, hsi hunting partner aparently did not share the same feelings... The Togorian almost laughed when [member="Gir Quee"] fired a missile into the thing at point blank range. Not that that wasn't perfectly rational- to be scare dof something that can suck the soul from your body. But still. It was funny.

"Definitely safe to say." Mrrew spoke with a smile, before turning to the MULE dorid to retrive the stun net. He doubte dit would be needed, the leviatghon would probably be asleep for days, but it's what the client wanted. The TOgorian began to gift wrap the sithspawn.

It took the pair twenty standard minutes to securely wrap up the leviathan in a stun net, and another thirty minutes for the MULE droid to pull the beast out of the cavern and to their ships. But glancing at the bulk of the creature, Gir was almost certain that it wasn't going to fit into his shuttle. And if it did, he was almost certain he would not want to risk it waking up and promptly destroy the innards of his ship with it thrashing about in his cargo hold. No, he would have to wait for a larger cargo vessel to pick it up. Looks like Salmakk was right on that one after all...Gir tapped a button on his comlink, sending an automated message for a waiting drone barge to land and transport the creature. The man from Hast turned to [member="Mrrew"].

"Is there anything you wanted to discuss before we part ways?"

Hm. It seemed like it took much longer then fifty standard mintues to get that Leviathon packed up... Perhaps it was the heat of the desrt sun, but it almost seemed like three months. Hm. Mrrew shook his head after [member="Gir Quee"] addressed him. "Not that I nkow of. Pleasure hunting with you."
