Misty Morning Training

Celiana sank to the floor once again legs crossed underneath her. Opening herself to The Force she reached out with tendrils of thought and felt the room around her. There were the softballs scattered about, her Master's heartbeat and breathing, and interestingly enough a glaring red of mismatched code in the program. As she felt the softballs in her mind's eye.

That isn't going to be a problem for much longer. Reaching out with her mind Celiana looked through the code and located the segments that had been mismatched. Then speaking to her Master. "Master, there are several segments of code in the program that were mismatched. Switch those code segments around in the reverse order and you should have the problem fixed."

Hoping she hadn't come across as mouthy Celiana also hoped that she hadn't earned herself more laps. She'd seen a problem in the code and her Master had commented on it so she hoped it was seen as trying to be helpful.

Focusing her mind back on the balls around the mats Celiana reached out with several tendrils of thought pinpointing where the balls sat. There was one by her Master's right foot and two sitting 5 feet in front of her and off to the side.

Quoting a book she'd read long ago in a sing song voice Celiana said, "I do not love the bright sword for it's sharpness, nor the arrow for it's swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend."

Then reaching out she started lifting the ball that sat by her Master's right foot up to a foot height. Moving out with other tendrils of thought she plucked up the two balls that sat five feet from her and moved them with her mind to match the height of the first ball. Envisioning the balls forming into a loose triangle she started rotating them in a circle counter-clockwise. Sweat forming on her brow this was definitely a workout in more than just a mental sense. She hoped she was doing well but time would tell she supposed. She hadn't heard a stop from her Master yet so she started reaching out to pluck more of the balls up off the mats. And simply sat there as she did.

Tech mage.

Karen gave a look of disbelief as [member="Celiana"] mentioned R2's messed up program code. An exceptionally rare talent for any Force User. Especially for one who had only just begun her training today. Goodness. Celiana certainly was just a ball of surprises today, wasn't she. Why, I'll bet she could even speak Binary without training too. What a fascinating girl...

"Very good Apprentice. You may stop as it pleases you."

Celiana had already grasped basic Levitation too, it seemed. Good. That meant she now had the most basic foundations of the Force. Meditation, Levitation, and Philosophy. ...Though. That later one was going to need some work eh?

"That's enough for today. You now need time to practice and to incorporate these learning into your daily routine. One hour practice each day. And I'm going to prescribe at least four hours each day you spend in the library too. You're knowledge of the academic Force needs to grow dramatically. ...Ah well. Nothing that can't be fixed with good old fashioned study. Hehe."

Karen folded her arms over her chest and nodded. That was probably enough for her first week.

Having mentioned the code and feeling through The Force her Master's surprise at her having mentioned it Celiana waited until she'd levitated a foruth ball into the air holding them there in a circle spinning them counter-clockwise Celiana opened her eyes to see the four balls she'd lifted still spinning.

Moving to get up Celiana lifted both hands and went through several of the motions of a martial art style mirroring the motions of an ocean tide. Using The Force along with her focus on the balls Celiana channeled The Force through her mind and body allowing it to flow through her and follow the motions of her hands guiding the balls back into the basket. Bringing her right hand into a closed fist against her left vertical facing open palm Celiana bowed slightly and turning to her Master repeated the bow of respect.

Coming up out of the bow Celiana looked towards her Master and voiced the question on her mind. "Master why did it surprise you about my comment on the error in the program's code? I could sense your surprise as I was beginning to lift the balls." Blushing slightly Celiana voiced the other question on her mind. "Also Master does the temple have a hangar or workshop in the hangar here? I do miss having filthy hands from working on ships...."

Karen raised an eyebrow at her questions. Oh well. Might as well out with it,

"Electronic equipment is an artificial construct of we sentient lifeforms. As such, the Force holds very little domain over toys and trinkets, in the common sense. Indeed. Many nature loving Jedi often say the Force ignores most electronic equipment entirely. Though, this is obviously not true. The Force flows in and between all things. Even droids and Shard-like creatures."

She shrugged. Such as it was,

"To the point. Only a very select Jedi Knights ever show any talent with electronic Force manipulation. Sensing code. Like you did. Or perhaps understanding a droid when it speaks in beeps and tweets. Binary. Or some other droid language. ...This is very uncommon to express without specific training. Especially in an Apprentice."

Karen rubbed her chin,

"I suspect you have a natural talent as a mechanic as well. ...As, these two things are often found together. The most common type of Jedi who learns electronic Force manipulation is always either a pilot or a mechanic. Hehe. That's just how it goes."

She waved away the comment,

"And yes. Voss has many hangers, workshops, and even starports that you can employ yourself at. Never hurts to get a job, ya know? Girl's gotta eat an all. Hehe. I had a part-time job all through my Apprenticeship too. I found the diversion wonderful. Hehe."

Roberts shrugged,

"Of course. If you just mean to volunteer? Then yes. The speeder bike garage is always looking for routine mechanics. Though, I hear the work is mostly doing oil changes and tuning up carb scrubbers. Meh."

Celiana began to blush slightly at her Master's apparent praise of her inherent skills. Momentarily turning away so her master hopefully didn't notice the light flush that had no doubt crept to her cheeks, Celiana turned back to look at her Master before again horizontally bringing her right fist closed against her left vertically facing open hand and went into a slight bow. "Thank you Master I'll head to the hangars when we're done here."

As she started to walk out of the holosuites a mischievous twinkling gleam ran through her eyes and Celiana voiced her last question for this lesson. "Master, one more question if you don't mind, what was that part time job you had during your apprenticeship?"

[member="Karen Roberts"]

Blinking for a moment at her Master telling her she'd been a delivery girl during her apprenticeship. Celiana responded quickly. "See you next week Master."

Having seen a notification on her left forearm bracer Celiana realized that she needed to head to the Temple Holosuites to meet with her Master. She was beginning to make some friends not to mention she'd been practicing what Master Roberts had mentioned about her being a Tech Mage the skills she was learning were opening doors she'd never thought much about.

Grabbing her combat belt and strapping it around her waist as she headed out her door Celiana felt either side making sure her saber were secured along with both segments of her Echani bladed staff. Hopefully she'd be early she wanted to meditate for awhile before Master Roberts showed up. There were some things she needed to discuss with her Master as well.

Karen trotted into the holosuite and gave a punch of the buttons on the wall. Immediately the large room disappeared and the lush fauna of Tython appeared once again. Leaving Roberts standing back in her favorite musket armory, once again.

"Ah. Much better."

The temperature of the room slowly changed to match the Env Settings. So Karen quickly removed her trench coat and placed it on an antique chair. Wishing that somehow the program could create a nice breeze too.

"I really need to move these training sessions outside. Bah."

She scoffed at the lack of real wind and took a seat near the courtyard. Waiting patiently for [member="Celiana"] to arrive.

Celiana walked into the holosuites and once again Celiana was in the atmosphere of Tython through her Force senses she sensed Master Roberts was already there although she wasn't wearing her customary furry trench coat as it was on a chair. Stepping into the main area of the holosuites Celiana was greeted by Master Robert's cheery visage. It was nice to see her Master again even though Celiana was nowhere near her level of cheer. To be honest after having run into her new friend Aria in the wee early hours of the morning and ending up talking and sparring with her she felt a lot less cheery than she initially had when she'd started getting into the swing of things here on Voss. Celiana was fairly certain Master Roberts would pick up on her mood if she was paying the slightest amount of attention yet she still found herself saying, "Morning Master."

"Good morning Apprentice Drayven. How does the day find you?"

Karen pulled out a new fashion magazine and started flipping through the pages. Oh. But the perfume smells were wonderful. She really needed to update her closet. Gods yes.

Roberts crossed her legs and browsed the pages. Waiting for [member="Celiana"] to tell her about her week.

The first question Master Roberts asked her was, "How does the day find you?" Celiana wasn't sure where to begin answering that question. "Confused Master. I've made a new friend and started a new project in the hangars to keep myself busy. Thank you for pointing me in that direction by the way. Been practicing the levitation of objects other than softballs. I'm up to small clouds of metal bolts and myself in terms of levitation now but I'm not sure that I'm accomplishing anything."

"Master you know a good deal about my history on Coruscant. But you don't know all of it, I intentionally left some things out as I'm not even sure I know how to deal with them. I told you about the instinctive Force Barrier I formed between a Zabrack and some dancing girls, but I didn't tell you about what I personally went through. I was able to do that instinctively because I was trying to protect those girls from what I'd already been subjected to by my father's work associates. Master I was...." Celiana was choking back sobs as tears glistened on her face and others hit the holosuite floors. "Master I was raped."

The sobs Celiana had been holding back burst forth from her mouth and she sank to the floor on her knees. She hadn't wanted to talk to anyone about this she couldn't stand for anyone to look at her as damaged or broken.

Oh.

Karen was dumbfounded at the sudden realization. No. Exploitation, of her student. How could this have happened?

"Drayven..."

She sat up in her chair but didn't have the words. Karen could topple a building with her mind, sure. She had commanded Star Destroyers and braved the very depths of Hell itself. But... To council in such a time of need? Roberts wasn't sure she knew how to help.

"I'm sorry dear. I'm... Just so, so sorry."

Karen looked away and placed her hands on her knees. What do you say to such an outburst? Karen just didn't know.

[member="Celiana"]

"Sorry Master I just needed to let someone know. Actually part of the reason I wanted to become a Jedi so nobody else would be exploited the way I was. I'm good to go now I just couldn't keep it bottled up any longer."

Wiping the tears from her eyes Celiana turned to look at Master Roberts. "So what's up for training today?"
