Moments of Peace

Watching as he changed his mind about the food yet again, she shook her head.

"Men can be so confusing at times..."

While it was spoken out loud, she hoped Ar'ekk wouldn't make any further comment on it.

"Well to be fair, I didn't expect to have do to this either. Was planning on hiding out, but then this idea came up and it allows me to stay active as a merchant. Even have a new name to go with it. Lady of Honesty."

When he asked if she would be sticking around Lithios, she shook her head.

"I can't stay forever. A few days, but I'm a merchant and need to travel around."

"I heard that!"

A playful chuckle could be heard from the kitchen as he stuffed his face with chips and chocolate, putting a quick end to his hunger with unhealthy snacks and whatnot. Much better than drinking yourself to death and waking up with a killing headache that'd put getting sliced by a lightsaber to shame.

"Quite an interesting pick, Lady of Honesty. It suits you."

He paced around the apartment with a bag of chips on his hands as he conversated with Ra, gaze switching between her and the steamy window that gave way to the outside world. A bustling city that never slept, that's for sure, Lithios was something greater than she really believed. A carefree town where most didn't care what you did unless you made it their business.

"I can't stop you with that. But remind me to call you up on that beach offer, remember?"

When Ar'ekk replied from the kitchen that he had heard her comment, they both had a bit of a chuckle at it.

"I didn't pick the name, HK did. But it's true. Everybody can be deceptive, but that's not something I strive to be. Of course tramping around looking like a droid when I'm organic is a deception. But hey, when it comes to business and staying alive, that is a small price to pay."

She watched as he wandered around the small room. His constant looking between her and the outside was noticed, but not commented on. What was going through his mind, Ra couldn't know and did not ask.

"Of course, if any of my routes take me close to a beach, I'll let you know."

"HK-36? I'm not surprised. He's a very strong droid, the best of his series. I haven't talked to him in a while, ever since I was a Jedi."

Little details slipped out of Ar'ekk's tongue unintentionally, figuring that his past wasn't as important anymore and revealing such thing was nothing out of this galaxy. It had been years since he defended a lost cause for an Order that ceased to exist the moment it felt some pressure on its neck, he owed them nothing.

"But that disguise, if you can call it that, is really something else. No one will ever recognize you plus you can take it off at any given time."

Tossing more chips on his mouth and devouring half a bag in record time, Ar'ekk's eyes laid on Ra once more and smiled. Changing the rainy and cold weather for a morning at the beach side, sand between your toes and the sun hitting your face like a bottle of the strongest Chandrila wine was too good of an offer to ignore.

"Counting on it. It'd make for a nice vacation."
