Moonlight Lekku

That brightened her expression somewhat as if she knew that would be an issue. "They pay Jedi?" At least she was teasing him again.

"I have funds. Just need to access them at an Aurum Bank terminal." Honestly, the lieutenant commander likely made more than Trextan had ever used in the past year. It was a modest stipend, but she doubted he really had any funds on him.

"Pay? No actually not really...But well... I think they said something like 'you don't get paid for this, but you need credits.' I think that means the credits are more like an expenses account?"

He shook his head. "Still, let's not go back to the ward if we can avoid it. I think we're going to get discerning glares if we stand within three feet of each other down there now." Certainly, he thought to himself, being this close even to shield her from the cold would probably warrant at least a raised eyebrow if not a telling off.

There, the patch was done. However, by then Choli had brought her head up to face him anew. An amused expression of bewilderment carved her olive face, right eyebrow arching up as if humoring him.

"So... then how are we going to pay for anything?" Problem number one. "Neither of us is carrying anything -- no pockets remember." To her credit Choli did not look down.

"Well then we'd best get going! Another adventure awaits." His hand slid from her shoulders, fingers leaving a delicate trail across her shoulder blades.

As he stood he turned his back to the railings and kept his left arm out. He captured her right hand and gave a gentle tug to help her to her feet. There was mischief in his eyes once more. What there wasn't was any intention of letting that hand go as they went back inside.

Neither plucked up the courage to tackle what had nearly happened on that sofa head on over the next few days, but when Trextan was stood back in his clothes, a bag slung over his shoulder he knew he had to say more.

"Look this has been a mad week. Pretty shit at times too. I know you agreed to go to Tatooine but maybe we could meet up or at least talk before then? You know, under better circumstances. Something just about...us...like?"

Choli gave a quizzing lift of her brow over to Trextan. Her heart gave a little flip. Wait what did he mean by that? There was a little flutter at her throat, and suddenly the brash Rogue felt nervous again. It had just been an awkward constant. Okay, just… keep it light.

"... us... like?" a small pause then in emphasis.

"...like?"

"So.." By now Choli found a bit of common ground in mixing mild humor to cover her embarrassment. Sometimes it worked; other times not so much. "...isn't that what we've been doing already?"

"What else goes beyond your Pizza Man and twi'lek midnight special?"

Trextan smiled and gave a roll of the eyes. He could be diverted, but not detailed. "Just be glad you didn't arrive a little later. But you know what I'm trying to say, I hope. There's a difference between ending up in the same place... And deciding you want to spend time with someone." He had to go soon, the shuttle would be waiting. Maybe if he'd deliberately messed up his physio he could have lingered another day. The pharma tech pushed his trolley to the door of the room and then backed out of sight.

That brought the color back to the Rogue's face again, a peachy pink against an olive background. That tick of hers to play with her hair and push it back behind her ear showed itself again.

"Yeah... I know." her voice came softer, a tinge of embarrassment mixed in with a sheepish half-grin.

"I'd like that." her there was just the barest hint of blue in her hazel eyes. Mild pleasure.
"... but still, don't know where they'll ship me out after this."

"But..." a pause. " I could comm you when I know..."

The colours of his irises did not change, but his eyes still showed his pleasure at her reply. And almost immediately afterwards his concern at her second point.

"Yes, or whenever of you just wanted to talk. Might be the same place I get sent and we're doomed to ward dates." He swallowed after talking. She had a point again, it could be a long time before another face to face meeting.

"Was that a crack at saying we'd only meet up after getting hurt?" a dark brown brow rose, the girl crossing her arms over her chest while her right hip cocked out to the right.

A bright glimmer of devilry in her color-shifting eyes was one of the key identifiers that she was teasing him.

A mock scoff wouldn't hide the blush nor the enjoyment of the banter," Well apparently since I am going to crash again I'm going to need your number so you can come pluck me out of the sky."

The corner of her mouth twitched. "And please, you're the one who would be bored with out me. "

She stuck out her tongue at him," You wouldn't have come up with the idea to sneak out if it wasn't for me!"

"True," he admitted. He looked down at his feet and some of that easy grin faded. It had been a long time since he'd worn such a thing, it still felt unfamiliar. Remembering himself he took out a device from his pocket and flicked it on.

"I've got your GA address, but there's my personal of you want to talk, or be plucked from the sky." No guarantee of when they'd get to meet again in person. That thought kept going around his head.

The next few seconds were spet in minor awkward silence as the pair synced their datapads together to trade frequency codes. "Yeah, there's mine too," Choli added with a duck of her head, strands falling forward to brush her cheek.

"Careful, now you're stuck. Entering your name as 'In the event, I fall out of the sky'" she teased.

"Well then..." He said. The device went back into his pocket. His eyes went to the door and back. No guarantee when, he thought again. "...Bye."

He took half a step towards the door. He stopped. He turned back towards her. Looming over her she might have she assumed he returned for a quick squeeze but his left hand brushing those strands away would give the game away. Unless she moved to stop him he aimed to give Choli a brief, gentle parting kiss on the lips.

Choli froze, and those bright orbs went wide. It was such a fleeting thing. Barely a graze, a brief touch of his lips against her own.

Wait is he really. Did he really? Mind turned into a jumbled mush. She felt the slight tickle from the dark tips of his hair that had swung forward. Yet that didn't compare the flooding sensation of hot blood flooding her face.

Trextan let his land hand run down to gently squeeze her shoulder as he stepped back. He held her gaze for a moment before turning away, looking a mix of exceedingly pleased with himself and abashed.

"See you soon then?" He asked one last time.

It took her a bit to be able to reply, wide blue-green eyes staring up at the teenage Voidstalker with a bright red face and a heck of a fluttering in her stomach.

"I... um... yeah." she barely managed to squeak out, what with having had held her breath through that all. All of a peck and her she was with knobbly knees. Okay just try to be cool. Try to be --

"I'll c-comm you." blarg did I actually just stammer UGH.

So she added quite quickly, "May the Force be with you." to try and hide the rest of her embarrassment.

Trextan gave a curt nod at that. "You too," he said. They'd both likely see the war again before each other after all. But most important of all was that she hadn't told him off for doing what he just did. So there was a spark in his eyes and smile on his lips as he turned away.

He stopped again at the door to the room, several metres away, and turned back. "Bye!" He added again, lingering awkwardly whilst shifting his balance back and forth.
