More NFU Tags for Characters

Tonight I was looking through the list of NFU tags. The ones we have are nice, but in my opinion, I feel we should have more to choose from. Here's why:

1. Those tags have enveloped more than just NFUs. They honestly have become a method of any and all writer to express their characters. Though there are many FUs that use their rank and faction tag, there are many that do not belong to a faction and fill that space with another tag to describe who they feel their character is. We should have more options to enable those people to describe themselves.

2. We are expanding as a community. There are some people who have been dedicating themselves to very specific and powerful things. For example shaping (I use that as an example because it is what this character is training for). While shaping is really obscure, it is an example of one of MANY specific things characters have become dedicated to. We should have more tags to express things like shaping or healing.

There are probably other reasons for this improvment, but these stick out. Let me know what you think (staff and others) about how this would work, if it would work, and if so, what the process would be for choosing the new tags. Another theory would be to allow custom tags to be used so long as they pertain directly to the character and an admin or whoever approves it based on their good judgement.

Hi Linalia! There are some custom rank tags in the art section. You can only add them to your signature but there are some fairly specific ones in there.

I don't think Tef is going to be hosting more Rank Titles for NFUs at this time.

However, you are allowed a fun number of images and custom Rank Titles to be place in your Signature. That is what most people do.

As the above have said, signatures are where you can get really detailed.

Once we had a much larger array of species and job ones and we found that they simply weren't used, consumed resources and could easily be handled in one's signature.

Tags are nice things but aren't exactly imperative when it comes to roleplaying. They're a nifty little graphic feature that allows you to showcase a pair of defining tags beneath your avatar - and they do their job well, but they're meant to cover broad scopes instead of having dozens of tags ranging from specialties to anything else. It would be a hassle for Tef and staff to manage all of those, so that's why we don't have more. Instead, like stated above, put 'em in your signature. [member="Linalia Soft"]

I myself don't have any specific tags in mind. I know that signatures can be used to express more details, but at the same time, the tags underneath our playbys are the most important part.

I personally agree with you. I think anything you could put in your sig (so any rank out there) should be able to go in your main three. Obviously not master tags unless earned, but still, this is a group of roleplayers and I think limiting people anything is limiting the whole idea of this website: imagination.

I understand there must be rules of course, yet how many must there be? For example, and I know this is completely off topic, but I very much wanted to rp a duinuogwuin when I came here. That whole character premise was eliminated before it even got to blossom due to the simple rule they were banned, how could they possibly know I would overuse it? I can't blame anyone though as that was my choice to not bring it up with anyone, as a new member here at the time, I didn't want to start out asking if I could have the chance. Now though, if anyone is reading this and is thinking perhaps I could (Specifically the admins) I would be very happy to try and work with you on that. Anyways, that's way of topic.

My best proposal to doing so would be having one designated for force related rankings, and the other for any and all categories.

I don't really mind personally as it doesn't directly affect the roleplay or anything. However It would be really nice to get rid of the two I have and replace them with these two (Much more accurate to Azula's character) And I'm sure others, such as [member="Linalia Soft"] feel the same way.

I did mention that in my original post. I talked about how the tags have become more than for NFUs. SO maybe in this case, we could add an additional selection of requestable tags for FUs, things specific to different characters such as shaping.

The logistics behind this are atrocious.

The strain on both the server and the user aren't worth it.

I understand that I am a bit contradicting. This was just an idea to be worked with. If at all. I knew ahead of time that it would take too much effort logistically. I didn't expect it to be truly implemented, but I did want to see what other's thought about the subject.
