- Multiuse - Includes datapad and portable scanner.
- Bloody Hell - Designed in such a way that there is only one way to access the information that is stored and is accessible to it - blood.
- Prickling - Needle comes from the top of the wrist link, so that no accidental pin pricking can occur. The prick is not felt at all, for it only needs the tiniest of drops.
- Sprint - Once activated, information can only be viewed in segments of 30-60 seconds before it shuts down completely until the next drop of blood, ensuring information theft in the flesh becomes incredibly hard to borderline impossible.
- Incredibly Hard to Slice - as the security of the machine relies on the blood of the Agent, slicing it is something that would required veteran and incredibly slicers to accomplish.
- Special Clearance - the The Ministry of Secrets Wrist Link is given to the birds only after they have proven themselves on several missions, as the device comes with special clearances to information that newcomers into the Ministry are not privy to.
- Warm Blood - The device will only work as long as the wearer is alive. Once the blood changes in temperature due to death or extreme illness, it will no longer grant access to the information, thereby shrinking the window during which theft can occur immensely.
- Sensitive Information - As with any Intelligence Device, the information that the The Ministry of Secrets Wrist Link can access can be extremely sensitive. The wrist links are constantly picked up for maintenance and continue to undergo vigorous testing, but sadly, no system is 100% slice-proof.
- Not Droid Friendly - As droids do not bleed, droids, advanced in their AI as they may be, cannot make use of this device.
This specific form of a Wrist Link was the brainchild of the Ministry of Secrets' Crow, [member="Scherezade deWinter"]. Having managed to slice into the databases of the Confederacy once before with the help of an incredibly skilled slicer (who has since been found dead and murdered), she wished to create something that would add an additional layer of security to the sensitive information that many of the Ministry of Secrets' members must have access to by pure definition of their jobs.
Using her abilities as a Blood Hound, she set to work on a few designs, calling in some favors from people who's butts she'd rescued or outright saved in the past, few of them being slicers. It took about a month of trial and error before finally, a prototype was made. Scherezade sent the box with her designs to [member="Rhaina Tira"], who approved the best one of them immediately.
The Ministry of Secrets sent forward a grant to Whimsy, Scherezade's company, so that they would produce the Wrist Links. They were designed with care, ensuring that the Birds would not accidently stab themselves, that the devices would be durable, and that accessibility to those who were not part of the Ministry of Secrets would be anywhere between extremely hard to borderline impossible.
These specific Wrist Links are handed only to Ministry of Secrets Agents who have completed three missions (=threads) or more.
