Moving on Up (Briika Tor)

Shieldmaiden of Clan Munin (semi-retired)
Briika almost spit the gum she was chewing out when [member="Kad Tor"] said the rent per month! "Twelve hundred… a month?! Wow, really?" she exclaimed, then looked around the place. "Well I guess... it is a rather nice place and can't be better for you location wise... for many reasons."

The young golden blonde descended the stairs, her petite hand running down the railing as she did with a thoughtful look about her face. "To be honest, vod'ika, I don't know how long I will be living here with you, but I guess we could splurge a bit, hmm?" Bree smiled walking over to give her brother a hug, then added looking up at the tall goran.

"You know I wasn't really mad at you… Just means you're going to have to go fishing again for our supper," she winked, then pushed away to go into the kitchen to check it out more thoroughly.

"I know you might not be here for long, that's why I'm offering to cover the first year with my earning here. There is a shop close by that could be turned into a forge, so yeah the location is great, and not only because it is close to a certain mechanic. The dining room is large enough that we could even invite [member="Kable Detta"], @Nolan Detta, and [member="Ralize Darkfeather"] over for a house warming party. I can grill outside with the boys, and you could get to Ral better. Your opinion matters to me, you know that right."

[member="Briika Tor"] was his sister. Of course her opinion mattered. He liked to think his opinion of Kable mattered also. Which it seemed to. Briika had been relieved when Kad had told her Kable was a quality guy. Following Briika into the kitchen he popped off.

"Couldn't you see yourself making uj cakes in here!?

"That's sweet of you to do that, Kad'ika."

Briika opened cupboards, the fridge and the oven with a pleased smile. "I could along with my stew. I am using buir's recipe and the vode down at the Oyu'baat rave about it… But only she and I know the secret ingredient," she winked, then walked around to the long dinning table on the other side of the kitchen serving counter.

"I was just thinking that, vod'ika, making this a real yaim for all of us to gather at, ya know, and of course I'd very much like to get to know [member="Ralize Darkfeather"]," Bree smiled sincerely, then the blonde got an excited look about her face.

"I took a drive out to Bralsin the other day just past the waterfall… I found a small homestead with some farmland for sale that I think would be perfect for [member="Kable Detta"] and I to raise our future ade. It reminds me of our family homestead in Enceri. Any ways, I've been trying to figure out how to bridge that conversation with Kable… I mean he hasn't even asked me for a riduurok yet, just hinted at it, strongly," she said with wishful eyes.

Moving out to the living area, Briika pictured in her head how the furniture could go, then motioned for [member="Kad Tor"] to follow her. "What do you think about a sofa going over there along the far wall near the window? Gods that's a nice view of the river."

"If he hasn't asked for a riduurok then don't bring it up.

It wasn't that Kad didn't want to see [member="Briika Tor"] move out and move on. He just knew men, he was one them. The last thing Briika needed to do was pressure Kable. Even if her conversation wasn't pressure it was one more thing for the verd to think on. He didn't need that.

"We like to have things lined up. He may not even be thinking about a yaim yet. He's just started his business so he can provide for you, for ade. Let him bring it up. That's my advice."

That was likely not what she wanted to here, but it was good advice.

"You might have to convince buir'ika to show Ralize that ingredient some day. Who knows?"

Briika knew her brother was right regarding letting Kable do things at his pace in his own way being a man and all, but she didn't want Kad to know it outright. The blonde just nodded begrudgingly, then continued to move about the new digs picturing where their limited things could go and what they still needed to furnish the place.

"Oh so it's that serious, hmm? I really do need to meet your lovely mechanic then face to face sooner than later," Bree grinned jestingly.

[member="Kad Tor"] [member="Ralize Darkfeather"] [member="Kable Detta"]

"I don't know yet, to be perfectly honest. We really did just meet, but I can't stop thinking about her.

Kad followed Briika as she looked over the home. She was doing what any woman would do. [member="Briika Tor"] had always been able to visualize things better than Kad anyhow. If anyone would make the yaim look more like a home it would be Briika. Kad could furnish a shop, something he wanted to look at also. There was a shop for sale that had room for a forge within walking distance from the house. The location hadn't been selected just because of a certain mechanic's shop.

"You should meet her though. I really do want your opinion as much as you wanted mine on Kable. You never came out and said it, but I saw how nervous you were."

Pointing to the wall Briika had indicated for the sofa, Kad nodded.

"Sofa works there, and wait until you see the sunsets out here.."

"Well I'm totally sold on this place, vod'ika. Why don't we close the deal, then go look about getting you a shop today too," Briika smiled brightly, then made for the door, stopping to look over her shoulder; the infectious smile turing into a grin.

"Oh and maybe your mechanic might want to meet us for lunch… Paybacks are so much fun," she winked with mirth, then walked out to get into the speeder.
