In her words, Krius could feel a distorted view on the galaxy forming in her mind. The hurt inflicted on her would now make her a dangerous enemy but a more dangerous ally in the fact the smallest push could tip her over the edge. But he wasn’t going to push her any more than she needed, but was more than confident she could be caged if she got out of hand.
”If you haven’t got me on your good side, I assure you when it comes down to it, you’ve got very few on that side at all in this galaxy. You’re more alone than you know, but this is why I try and help those like us – like you – to make their way and be powerful enough to make something of their name.”
He jumped down from the small bank where he was stood, and saw he fishing for a lightsaber hilt. She produced one and threw it to him, a carefree and almost goading look in her fiery eyes, standing confidently as he caught it. Was she judging him now on his lack of knowledge on the ancient weapon?
”Thank you.” Krius smiled, a little awkwardly.
Now out of his depth, he had seen the blade of the Jedi and Sith handled deftly by many, but never handled one. It felt heavier than expected in his hand, his gloved grip holding it tight, silver and black with his thumb over the red activation button.
He raised his hand in one fluid motion and ignited the blade – emerald green energy spat into life, a vibrant hum of power in his hand. Krius looked to Keziah, mildly impressed, and slowly got a feel for the weapon. One wrong move would easily take a limb, so he stood sideways and twirled the blade gently left and right, listening to it cleave the air.
If you could teach me how to handle one of these, it would make our defences greater for those out to stop us. I would appreciate it. You seem quite adapt at such skills?”
Krius turned so the blade was facing Keziah.
”And if I wanted to stab you in the back, I could have easily done that by now and you’d be dead before you even knew what had it you. I was there when they took your children, and I do not want to see you waste away when you could have people trembling in your wake.”
He looked at her, almost through the green blade, their eyes locking.
”If you’re not a deluded girl who doesn’t know what she wants, and then try to kill me after I unlock your power, than I will be annoyed. Otherwise, you can trust me.”
Such an easy word to say. Trust.
