Murder? No. Collateral Damage.

In her words, Krius could feel a distorted view on the galaxy forming in her mind. The hurt inflicted on her would now make her a dangerous enemy but a more dangerous ally in the fact the smallest push could tip her over the edge. But he wasn’t going to push her any more than she needed, but was more than confident she could be caged if she got out of hand.

”If you haven’t got me on your good side, I assure you when it comes down to it, you’ve got very few on that side at all in this galaxy. You’re more alone than you know, but this is why I try and help those like us – like you – to make their way and be powerful enough to make something of their name.”

He jumped down from the small bank where he was stood, and saw he fishing for a lightsaber hilt. She produced one and threw it to him, a carefree and almost goading look in her fiery eyes, standing confidently as he caught it. Was she judging him now on his lack of knowledge on the ancient weapon?

”Thank you.” Krius smiled, a little awkwardly.

Now out of his depth, he had seen the blade of the Jedi and Sith handled deftly by many, but never handled one. It felt heavier than expected in his hand, his gloved grip holding it tight, silver and black with his thumb over the red activation button.

He raised his hand in one fluid motion and ignited the blade – emerald green energy spat into life, a vibrant hum of power in his hand. Krius looked to Keziah, mildly impressed, and slowly got a feel for the weapon. One wrong move would easily take a limb, so he stood sideways and twirled the blade gently left and right, listening to it cleave the air.

If you could teach me how to handle one of these, it would make our defences greater for those out to stop us. I would appreciate it. You seem quite adapt at such skills?”

Krius turned so the blade was facing Keziah.

”And if I wanted to stab you in the back, I could have easily done that by now and you’d be dead before you even knew what had it you. I was there when they took your children, and I do not want to see you waste away when you could have people trembling in your wake.”

He looked at her, almost through the green blade, their eyes locking.

”If you’re not a deluded girl who doesn’t know what she wants, and then try to kill me after I unlock your power, than I will be annoyed. Otherwise, you can trust me.”

Such an easy word to say. Trust.

Everything that had happened in her life had brought Keziah to this point in her life. The young woman had been though a whole lot of pain but she was a much better person for it. Her heart may be broken right now but she would pick up those pieces and move forward with him. She was glad that he was willing to put up with the things that she had already put him though. It had been a lot and they had just met each other. She could tell already that they were going to have quite the interesting relationship.

She knew for him having a saber was different for him but as she watched him yield it he looked like a natural. The young woman would tell him such however she had a feeling that he would not appreciate that as he was not like other Force Users and neither was she.

“Yes, I actually made both of these on my own as part of my training. I have been taught to use both this weapon as well as many others. The one in your hands is the one used most by Force Users. The Jedi and Sith seem to pride themselves in how good they are.”

She would show him all she knew in regards to the saber and fire power in exchange for his knowledge. Keziah had no quarrels with this besides it only seemed fair to do it that way.

“Trust,” she sighed and shook her head. “Trust will take time however I am sure that you can understand that.” Slightly grinning she unclipped the other saber from her belt and ignited it. It was best to get started teaching him how to use the green saber in his hands.

“Let’s get started, shall we? I want you to come at me with the saber and I will block your attack. I’ll teach you some offensive and defensive moves.” She stood back with her blue saber humming in front of her waiting for his attack.

Krius wasn’t accepting that the weapon in his hand was that of a Jedi or a Sith, but of a natural Force user. The fact the Jedi and Sith had made the weapon their own was just a label they wore; wielding one didn’t not dictate that you followed a Master or a Lord. This was a weapon that any Force user could master, regardless of your allegiances. As long as you could control it, like the Force, it would a valuable asset.

As Krius had only used blasters and the Force as a weapon, he knew there would be others opposing him who did use the blade as a weapon and it was only sensible and right he teach himself to defend and attack. Not as a primary assault, but as a defence if the worst came to the worst.

It would certainly limit the fun of killing with a blade when you could do with your hands, or your mind.

Analysing Keziah and her stance, Krius fully expected to fall, but that was not a bad thing. If you fall, you learn to pick yourself back up and become stronger, wiser and more attuned to the environment and dangers around you.

Krius stepped forward, green blade pointed to the ground. This wasn’t going to be easy.

”Don’t hold back. Because I wouldn’t with you.”

With his left hand by his side, he twisted it up for propel a burst of Force energy into Keziah’s stomach, and then as he did, he brought the blade up diagonally to cleave her in two.

Keziah was in no way going to hold back from him. It would do her no good nor him as the enemies that they would be fighting wouldn’t be lax. She had a feeling that they would come across many enemeies as she was sure that most people didn’t believe in his way, their way. She expected his best and she would give him hers in return.

The blade wasn’t her favorite way of fighting in truth she was a little rusty with it. She was used to fighting with her Force gifts or being a healer. The young woman had learned Force healing as well as first aid as that was what those she had worked with needed but he didn’t need to know that yet. It was best he thought her great with the light saber.

“Holding back won’t do you any good or me any good. This is good practice for both of us.”

She hadn’t expected but should have that he was also going to use his Force abilities when it came to this “fight”. It set the tone of it to be a real fight and not some prissy little practice duel. This would show whom was the stronger of the two from the get go. Keziah had faith that she would be the one coming out on top.

She gulped and stumbled back a few feet from his burst of energy but quickly pulled herself back up right in time for her blue saber to clash with his green one. Keziah pushed against his saber with as much strength as she could muster in the hope of pushing him back. A few rocks near her slowly rose and began making their way towards him. The goal was to either hit him or divide his attention.

One thing Krius didn’t want to do was underestimate the girl.

As she bounced back from the Force push, she locked blades with him, causing him to squint a little at the crackling hum and energy from both blades as they hit. She pushed him back, and he allowed her to so he could regain a stronger stance, holding the blade out forward.

He felt the rocks around him tremor with the Force and he nodded in approval, goading her on with a gloved hand.

As she sent them to him, Krius pulled his fist down and emitted a wall of Force energy around him that helped disintegrate the rocks that sped at him.

”The Force will always be your greatest weapon over a blade, Keziah, never forget it.”

He stopped the energy and moved forward, circling her as the water lapped their boots on the beach. Krius came at her, this time sideways at her shoulders.

She had never fought anyone with an actual blade before. The young woman always had preferred the blaster over such other weapons. She knew that he would never understand that but it wasn't until recently that she had the Force as an ally. She always had relied on her skills and knowledge to get herself through things.

"The blade has never served me well but than again neither has the Force. It's a weird thing but it's time for a change. Perhaps I need to just focus on my Force gifts as they seem to be enough to get the job done."

Keziah kept her eyes focused on him as he kept walking around her with her doing the same. She was waiting for him to lash out again at her so she could show off once again for him. The young woman could work with the elements which included water.

As he went for her side she spun herself out of its way and looked to the water at their feet for help. Using her hand, for affect only, she called upon the water to bring it up and swirl around right below them not doing anything with it at the moment. Instead she leaped forward towards him swing her saber in a sort of criss cross way.

Eyes widening at her display of the Force, coupled with her lightsaber aggression, Krius fell back one step – two steps – holding the blade up to try and counter each swipe she made. As Keziah brought the blade down diagonally, Krius swung down to hold the glowing blade to the ground and pushed into her with his shoulder, trying to get her off balance.

With his left hand, he brought up a swirling vortex of sand from the beach, spinning erratically in the hope she would be distracted enough to fall back.

"I see how you combine the Force with your violent attacks – I like how you are not restrained by the codes and conventions of the blade. You strike with passion; with vigour!"

Jumping up a small bank, away from the coast, Krius walked sideways by her away from the sand.

"The Force can be so much more, however. It can get into a person far easier than trying to skewer them with a well-positioned blade. You need to learn how to break into someone’s mind and cripple them."

Keziah was a broken woman whom had nothing left but her passion to learn more about the gifts which had been hidden from her. If she couldn't have the babies that she had wanted for so long she would pour her heart and soul into this. There was nothing else for her after she had lost all she loved.

She could fight with the blade and with the Force. The mind however was an untapped Force power she had yet to try. The young woman knew that this was his speciality and that he could help her learn. She than would be unstoppable.

"Teach me," she stated holding the saber down and putting it away. "I know getting into the mind is your specialty. Do so, and we can be unstoppable together." She smiled at him

With a look that blended innocence yet confidence, Keziah killed the blade. Krius nodded at her request and deactivated his own, looking at the hilt and letting it go, holding it with the Force and moving it out for the girl to take back. He stepped forward before her.

Eyes cast over her body, making sure she could feel him looking, Krius returned his gaze to fix on hers for a test of her ability; of her gif, without restraint. She was a fragile spirit and one ripe for manipulation and sending out shockwaves.

"From what I learnt when I found my gift at a young age, you are doing so well. I'm impressed, but take away the weapons and creation of fire and things like that. There is another factor that could break a man without you even having to touch him - through his mind."

He slowly tapped two fingers against his temple.

"While a man may prove to be an obstacle on our journey, he is also a living being. He may not be menacing by nature, merely an employee or guard. He may have a family, others who care about him. Had you met him under different circumstances, you might have discovered him to be a friend and ally. What to do, then? Make the guard see you as a small, nonthreatening creature? Make him go to sleep? Project a frightening image that will cause him to flee? All these things could very well work, but have you considered the consequences? What if the guard enjoys shooting at small, nonthreatening creatures? What if his species is physically incapable of sleep? What if you strike such fear in him that he dies on the spot, or forgets the nature of gravity as he tries to escape over the edge of the nearest cliff?"

He let the words sink in for a second before he snapped his fingers.

"If you think of the consequences, then you already show your weakness. We can control a mind, we can influence a mind and we can BREAK a mind. Our enemy will not think before they pull a trigger or take our heads, so we must not think as we destroy them. Terror is a plague, devouring the mind from within. Strength, hope, and wisdom are nothing but thoughts to be consumed with the power of what we control."

Krius brought up his hands, placing them on the girls arms.

"Forget everything else. Project the darkest image you can into my mind. I will not try and stop you, I will open myself to you. I trust you, so use the Force to manipulate or turn me away or fall to me knees."

He stepped back and removed his helmet, showing the scars from one whom he had tested the same way as Keziah. Dropping the helmet to his feet, he nodded at her. Should things get out of hand, this time he wouldn’t hesitate to cut down a wild beast before it lost control.

As he spoke, Keziah paid close attention to what he told her. She wanted to be able to do as he did and be able to mold the mind.

Keziah was a mess right now but she closed her eyes trying to picture a dark image in her mind. The only thing she was seeing were her two dead babies but that was her nightmare, her terror. What she needed was an image that would work on anyone whom she came across. With a snap of her fingers her eyes opened as she thought of the perfect thing.

Concentrating on penetrating his mind she focused on sending an image of him dying in his mind. A slow painful death in which he was poisoned. The young woman also focused on making the image seem as real as possible.

Keziah chose this image as she was well aware that everyone was afraid of dying. It scared even the strongest of men.
