I personally love this fact. It humanizes him because he carries the weight of the Jedi Order on his back and the failing is so big it breaks him. He's got his nephew, who he could not help at all kill his entire Order (speculatively). That's so big. He had to get away. It shook his confidence because Ben was someone he should have been able to help the most, at least in his eyes, but he could not. Suddenly the weight of the galaxy seems to be on his shoulder once more, but right after the biggest failing of his life. He doesn't know what to do anymore.
He's emotional because someone just showed up offering him a saber. He's been struck with conflict here. Does he continue to be the hermit he is or does he teach her. Does he risk failing again.Valiens Nantaris said:How do you feel about possibility of Rey being Luke's daughter? The end scene shows Luke a bit emotional at the sight of her.
Rey's level of power I don't think was tooooo bad, but I look at her like a savant. Luke was not a savant. We never see him as being super talented in the Force, but instead was important because of his relationship with Vader. Anakin however we see as very strong, but we never really see him when being trained. We don't know how easily he picked up on the Force powers he had. We do know he had great reflexes because of the Force and that's it.
