I don't like the idea of a spot claim. Especially when people are in the middle of posting their own post and didn't get a notification of said spot claim.

If the spot claim affects everyone their posts become invalid and they have to edit, making all the work they put behind typing it out null.

Just my two credits on spot claiming.
I agree, but if it's not one person, it's another. And often, I find it is me as well. I tend to post only when important, when everyone else has done their thing and usually in length. So by the time I get something out, people are already either running on post number two again or doing something my post initially sought to prevent through IC means. It doesn't help that I'm caught between virtually three different fights right now (though one is NPC).

But damned if I do, damned if I don't. :/

/sighs

Oh, see, I didn't quite get what a "spot claim" was, cause I wasn't actually reading the thread.

But I know what it is now, and this?

(((I love how everyone ignored my spot claim - I am entitled via rules to have ample chance to react to another side's actions. If there's anything past my post, I'm rightfully ignoring the kark out of it. >_>
PVP is give and take. A and B. Not A B A A A B.
Edit: Well, between this and then.)))

^That's not going to continue. There is literally nothing in the rules that allows you to be that inconsiderate to other roleplayers. If you have the time to post that at a certain point? You've the time to type up an actual post. If not? Too bad. Wait until you can make a post. We honor posting order, for the most part (provided there is one) but we aren't allowing people to just ignore posts made after theirs because they posted two words saying "Spot claim."

Even when I was helping run the event, I didn't make claims to spots. I just posted to the relevant people when I was able to and things worked out fine. Forcing people to revolve the thread around your ability (or in this case inability) to post just ruins things for the rest of the people in this collaborative story.

Normally I'd PM people about this, but I want to make it abundantly clear that this isn't something the rules support nor protect, and generally casts an unfavorable light on whatever it is you're trying to do.

I didn't want to be involved in anything like this, but I did it for Mark, and it's just what Ashe would do for Circe.
I'm caught in not one but two ultimatums - how lovely.
1: Stay in thread, deal with crap - Abandon thread, sadden Mark.
2: Not leave sub-posts explaining that my response will be hella long and to wait, get steamrolled, have to edit every other post after submission because new ones were posted and not have the chance I needed to counter the opposing side's actions - Leave said sub-post comments and be seen as a dick.

I appreciate the freedoms over other RP sites this one gives, but the lack of coordination sometimes is terribad and often consequential as stated above, to the quality of the thread.

I type at 83 words per minute - not insanely fast but a cut above average.
And it just so happens I greatly enjoy long, detailed posts. Goodness, you should see a fluff post of mine. You'd never get anything done. That's just how I write, and I feel writing "smaller" would not do the portrayal of the character's life and actions justice.
EditL If you mean I'm posting many actions, there were many NPCs involved, and realistically it's all happening simultaneously.

Coming from someone who duels people and gets in fights quite a bit and is considered perhaps one of the better duelists here, small posts are better in fights and action situations. We don't need to know the color reflecting off your characters eyes as your hair breezily sways in the wind while you slash your lightsaber. Nor does one need to take 23512351236123612 actions in one post. Act and react, simple as that. Its worked out fantastic in 1v1 duels 1v2 duels, 2v2, etc..

Just my suggestion though.

Refer to my previous post.... (Also, this isn't a duel and far from a 2v2. I have never had these problems with those.)

@[member="Strider Garon"] @[member="Vanessa Nacht Seele"] - And yep..... pretty much. I mean, no one's got a gun to their head telling them to stay still as a fully armed fighter is rushing in at mach 2+, but yeah, they're not Ashe's priority either. Sorreh. Just calling it like it is IC.

When I post next, I'll make it clear they moved. Ashe specifically stated in said post that there was time to move, and that anyone with half a brain would have moved. My mercs aren't the most experienced, but they're not idiots. They can see when a ship is heading straight for them.

@[member="Ashe the Reaper"]: you gonna edit you last big post and make it a new one so everything is up to date. Got people waiting to respond. All ya have to do is just copy and past it. THen we are all good.

Pretty much how I feel.

Especially when you're playing as a character who counters. I had a duel where someone continued to emote (This was an ingame duel on WoW) his attacks, chaining them again and again until I finally got my post in. I emoted blocking his first attack, and the rest of what he typed was useless and never happened.

Use t1.5 Lazy t1. WHat have you. Instead of t1.

Hey look at that. Crap ton of posts.
