Never give up!

A small ship landed on the feral planet, stealth dropped and a woman sat in the small captain's chair. Didn’t take long to get the right numbers and such punched through to let her access to the planet. Sometimes passed and she was planetside. SPencer remained in the seat going over what was to be done on the planet. There had been several reports of menaces to society which Spencer felt it was her place to help secure the peace on this planet. Standing, the master began to gather her equipment and shove them into a belt and a few pockets.

The unorthodox Force Master then moved through the small ship gathering a dusty lightsaber that was never used, then exited the ship and headed towards the nearby town that was located near the makeshift hanger. Spencer adjusted her leather jacket that stopped just at her waist, she adopted the Spacer look from Ashin, seeing that Jedi attire was never the best option. Mostly because of the pre-judging people did, Force forbid that you wear black - you’re automatically a Sith.

Pulling the datapad from her pack on her back, she glanced at an address and coordinates for the father or someone who knew these troublemakers. Putting it into her datapad she followed the instructions on where to find the establishment. After a few hours more, she arrived on the property. Waiting, she allowed her sense to open to see if any danger was in the area and when it was safe she shut her mind off to the galaxy and headed towards the door. Knocking softly, she waited for a response.

Vitor Imperieuse stood solemnly in the back of his home, whittling away at several pieces of wood he was building a case out of for Lilin's sword, when he heard a knock at the door. As he stepped towards it, the long-repressed sense in the back of his head began to tingle - whoever the individual was happened to be a Force user of incredible power - incredible power and unfamiliarity. Stepping forward, he opened the door, leaving his lightsaber a distance away that he could easily bring it to his hand if needed.

"Yes, miss? Who are you?"

Someone moved towards the door, she picked up a force signature – this put her on guard slightly, mostly because there was no reports of the person who lived at this dwelling was a Force user. Spencer didn’t know his strength or his alignment. Lack of information was never a good thing and she would have to go into this somewhat blind now. More defenses went up around her mind, keeping a tight lock on it. She waited until the door opened slowly and she was greeted by a man. From the looks of it, she had caught him at a moment he wasn’t expecting visitors – maybe she should have called?

Nah that would ruin the fun of all of this. Clearing her throat, Spencer offered her hand towards the man. There was no reason to alarm him into thinking she was a threat – which in this case she probably was. “I’m Spencer Jacobs. It’s a pleasure to meet you Mr….?” There was no name on the paperwork she had received about the reports here. That of course made things difficult. “I’m here on some official business, mostly I’ve heard there have been some disturbances with the civilians around here? Apparently 3-4 assailants causing havoc among them?” Spencer was straight the point – this man had answers hopefully.

“Do you know anything about these incidents?”

Spencer Jacobs. The name sounded very vaguely familiar, though he was unable to place it at all. "The name is Vitor. Vitor Imperieuse. Please, come in." He stepped back, allowing the enigmatic woman access to his cabin. "Disturbances with the civilians? I don't know of any disturbances that've happened due to me or my family." He pondered over what she was thinking, unable to fathom a reason for her arrival. Then it clicked.

"Did the locals send you?"

“Nice to meet you Vitor.” She looked at the man and couldn’t figure out what the reports were going off of. The man looked pleasant and not like someone who could create or raise these monsters. Still, Spencer knew to keep her wits about her, despite the man seeming kind he could be worst of them all. Not giving anything physically away, Spencer stepped into the cabin and adjusted her jacket as she looked around.

“Nice place.”

She continued to look around mostly to make sure she was safe, he continued to talk and when he finished she nodded. “They did, they stated there was some uncontrolled persons in the area. Your name was labeled as a person of interest. So do you know anything about what the locals are talking about?”

"Thank you." Most of the building's ornamentation was crude, the occasional brass or copper trinket lightening up an array of carved pieces and beams. Then she pressed on with her inquiry. "The locals have had many issues with my kids. They think they're cursed, or something like that - monsters. Admittedly, I have no idea why myself, but each of them seem to have some sort of issue. A mutation, if you will."

Perhaps this woman would understand more than the unenlightened primitives.

She listened to Vitor, she took the words of the locals seriously, but the way they spoke with the broken basic she wondered if their wild stories were correct. Vitor on the other hand spoke basic quite fluently and he sounded educated. She wondered if this was all a misunderstanding of the Force. A hand rested against her cheek as she listened to his comments about his children. There were mutations, things that were different about them. This caught her attention and her hand fell from her cheek and her arms folded in front of her chest.

“Mutations? I do understand that they might be mistaking simple mishaps of the Force as some great unknown devil being terrorizing their home, but still the fact that they feel terrorized is something I want to look into.” The credits do help, but Spencer was a kind hearted soul underneath her pretty face. “Can you explain a bit more about these mutations and why the locals would consider it a curse?”

"Yes, mutations." He frowned. "My eldest daughter, Lilin, slowly drains away the life of those around her. She cannot survive if she stifles this power. My son Vindi disabled whatever advanced technology he physically touches with his flesh. My other son chooses no name - he is sanguinous. A taste for blood is on his lips. My last child, Merikh, is the physical embodiment of shadow, barely visible as anything more than a shade with glistening white eyes." He sighed.

"I know why they're afraid of my children, but they are not monsters. They merely are mutants. Likely tainted by my time in stasis within an Oubliette."

As the man explained the situation with his children, Spencer took mental notes remembering the conversation vividly. When the time came she would revisit the conversation in meditation and really examine every detail. For now though, she needed to just listen and gather what she could. Arms crossed in front of her as she listened intently, she picked up on the love the man had for the children, but the distress he had because of their mutations. This case was going to need some tender care to it, there would be no useless blood shed - if she could help it. Sighing softly, she nodded showing her understanding. Then he spoke of the Oubliette, her interest was spiked exponentially.

"An Oubliette you say? You need to tell me everything."

"A long time ago, back when I was a Padawan, I was possessed by a Sith spirit that attempted to destroy a group of padawans on a planet. I was locked away within an Oubliette. When I awoke thanks to pirates, the spirit was gone, and centuries had passed. With such having occurred, I chose to abandon the Galaxy at large and become an archaeologist. I still have the oubliette, along with another cruder stasis casket - the technology within is something I've examined for some time now."

He had no idea how to make it work - only that it froze in time whatever was placed within.
