Never Hate Your Enemies. It Affects Your Judgement.

No one jumped into answering [member="Spike Arrel"]'s question immediately and Kian glanced at his padawan and then back at the people. Finally the man who had spoke before spoke up.

"We're fine to get out of here. As for what awaits you.....we don't know." He said, a look of fear and revulsion coming over his face. "They take us away one or two at a time.....and they don't come back." He said, sorrow evident in his voice at that statement. Kian couldn't help but wonder who it was he had lost.....which person he had watched leave and not come back.

"We'll get you out of here, now!" Kian said, and with Spike's help they escorted the group of people back toward the opening they had created.

"You should be able to get out of here, one of our allies is distracting the guards. If anyone doesn't think they can run, stay hidden in here and we'll come back for you." Kian said. The man looked at Kian and Spike for a moment before finally nodding to them in thanks.

Turning back, Kian and Spike made their way further into the compound. Just past the door that had held the prisoners, Kian and Spike came across another set of rooms but before they could investigate the sound of boots on metal rung out and the hallway ahead was suddenly full of guardsmen. Kian ignited his saber and brought it up defensively while blaster fire filled the room. He began to swat the bolts back at his attacker.

Kian's redirection of the bolts took the first line of guardsman out, and slowly the men were backing away as well, conserving their fire and being far more cautious, then the sound of boots was heard behind them. "Cover our flank." Kian said, then began to rush forward, towards the guardsman ahead. He needed to close with them in order to neutralize the threat they posed, using the force, he tugged at them causing a few to stumble. These he finished off quickly before closing with the few that were left.

Spike nodded in agreement of [member="Kian Karr"]'s order.

Spike ignited his lightsaber to action at the sound of boots behind him and his master. Whoosh's filled the air as his lightsaber became a blur as he began to redirect blaster bolts, although inaccurate he did manage to take out a guard or two by luck alone. Spike now began closing in on the ranks not long after they started firing, he needed to get closer if he stood a chance of breaking into the ranks of guards with his lightsaber and cause any real damage.

After a few moments he reached the ranks of guards, there were about six or so left and Spike began cutting through them until none were left. Finally he turned to see what his master was up to.

Everything was a blur as she woke up. Her cell was small and crowded as she found herself in a tiny room with four others. People of different race. A nautolan woman cradling herself in panic, a chiss leaning against the wall covering his face with his arm, a teenaged human stroking his arm for comfort and a wookie sitting next to the nautolan in a comforting hug.

Kana’s head hurt as she rose up in the middle of the room. The others gasped for a second and the chiss turned around to look at her. Everyone looked like they had arrived just like her. They all looked at her and so did she. A strange feeling as if she had lost something came over her and she began to pat herself in panic.

“Oh no.” Her lightsaber was gone. “Oh nonono.”

The others looked at her still and she gave each of them a worried look. She needed that saber, it was hers. Then it struck her, they had her saber which means they probably knew what she was. Of course they knew, they had known all along. That was why they had followed her so intently with their eyes as she passed by the first time. It was most likely she wasn’t a decaying corpse to-be in the sewer right now.

“We need to get out of here.”

“You don’t say?” The chiss blurted out.

Kana began banging on the door to no avail. They had obviously tried that before. She looked around the room at the sterile white panelling. There had to be something they could use, anything. Something to lure them in here.

There was a camera, much to Kana’s delight. She looked it straight in the lens as she walked up to it. It seemed to have caught their attention and the camera focused on her solely. Clenching her fist she got ready to do something stupid. This was going to hurt, she just knew it would. She swung her fist at the camera’s side. The fizzling sparks of electricity that escaped it was evidence enough for her that she had managed to break it somewhat.

Her hand wasn’t as happy though. In fact, metal and hands have never been compatible. She gently rubbed it as she waited for the effects of her actions to roll out. It was time to break out of here. Even if she just got here.

Kian's blade flashed left then right in small, tight cuts that dropped the two guards standing in front of him. The final guard raised his rifle to fire and Kian severed the weapon in half. Grabbing the guard in the force, Kian pushed him up against the wall.

"What is this place?" Kian asked and the man spite at him. With the training of these men, it was likely they wouldn't talk. But they weren't force users. Putting the force into his words, Kian spoke again.

"What. Is. This. Place." Kian said, slowly and steeped in force persuasion. For a moment it seemed as though the man would resist, but then his expression changed and he spoke.

"It is a research center but in place by the One Sith." The man said, all emotion drained from his voice.

"What. Are. They. Researching." Kian said pushing harder.

"Virus 18-Alpha-4." The man said, "A neurotoxin that targets sentient....life....." the man began to fight against the probing, "NOOO!" He yelled and chomp of his jaw he gasped and suddenly the veins in his skin turned a dark purple. Foam erupted from the man's mouth and fell to the floor, dead. Kian looked in surprise and shock at the man. Poison packs hidden in a guards teeth were not something you came across every day......nor were guardsman willing to kill themselves rather than answer some basic questions.

"Let's go!" Kian called to [member="Spike Arrel"], but something metallic on the guard caught his eye. Leaning down, Kian saw a lightsaber tucked into the man's belt. Picking it up, Kian recognized it instantly.

......They had [member="Kana Truden"]

He walks amongst us but he is not one of us.
Spike watched as his master interrogated the lone guard left. It was shocking news to know the One Sith were researching a neurotoxin, and surely they would either have to burn the building to the ground to destroy all research of this virus, at least that is what Spike thought at the time.

When Spike saw [member="Kian Karr"] hesitate while they were about to leave he turned and saw what his master had noticed. They would evidently have to find [member="Kana Truden"], and Spike did not know where she could be, but he imagined there were more holding cells in this facility, he wasn't sure though that they didn't keep force sensitives away from everyone else. Although he did not know her at all really, he still felt responsible to get her home safely.

"Any idea where she may be?" Spike asked Kian Karr.

The others looked at her as if she was an idiot. Not that she cared or didn’t know that as she continued rubbing and shaking her hand to rid the pain. She gave the others an indifferent glance as the sound of rapid footsteps were approaching outside. This was it, Kana positioned herself by the entrance and waited for the first guard to make his entry.

The door swept open in a quiet yet exhausted hiss. The barrel of a blaster popped in and she didn’t hesitate for a second to grab a hold of it. Promptly pulling the blaster forward she could hear the guard’s surprised gasp right before she reached her elbow up to his face. A small cracking sound as well as a crimson spot on her jumpsuit sparked her guilt a little as she wrestled the man to the ground before promptly shooting his two backups in the leg.

Their screams served as an indicator to the others that something was wrong and a new alarm blared through the base. A panicked woman blared as equally loud through the comm systems.

<<Breakout in Sector-D1, Specimen 597 on the loose!>>

“Specimen? Really?” Kana looked down the corridor. There were at least a dozen cells, all of them as tightly packed as her, she was sure of it. “What is this place?”

She inspected her newly acquired weapon. Another E-11, these guys really liked to play the ancient angle hard. Not that she minded at all, the sense of admiration for the type of ‘respect’ it had once instilled remained. Now, if she could find a HWK-290 around here she would ditch these fools in a heartbeat. Well, not quite but she would be ecstatic to say the least.

The sound of footsteps coming from her left forced her into a sprint towards her right. It was best to get away as fast as she could.

<<They're headed for the lab! Get them!>>

Right, she hadn't punched out ALL the cameras yet.

Kian shook his head. "No I don't...." He began and suddenly alarms began to ring out from further into the compound.

".....but I think I have an idea." Kian said smiling beneath his mask. "Come one." Kian said and rushed off down the corridor. He didn't know what the alarm was sounding for, but he could guess. No one was going to take [member="Kana Truden"] captive without a fight. As Kian rounded the next bend in the corridor, he nearly ran straight into Kana and had to throw himself to the side to avoid the collision.

"Well, nice to see you!?" Kian said, a bit shocked by the near hit. Lifting up her lightsaber, Kian tossed it back to her.

"This weapon is your life...." Kian said tilting his head in mock frustration. Hearing footsteps coming from behind where Kana was, Kian turned and pointed to a room not far from them.

"Come on, let us get inside." They could have stayed and fought, likely the three of them could handle whatever enemy was enroute. But Kian was in the dark with regards to what this place was....and he didn't like not having answers. The room was small and when the door shut behind them, Kian sealed it. Looking around, Kian saw a computer terminal.

"[member="Spike Arrel"], can you slice us in?" Kian asked. His own slicing skills left much to be desired.

Spike Arrel

He walks amongst us but he is not one of us.
Spike followed [member="Kian Karr"] while he raced through the hallways of the research facilities. He was wondering what his master's plans were, but when they bumped into [member="Kana Truden"] almost literally he was pleasantly suprised. Then they set off again, and Spike decided to keep the group covered from behind as they progressed through the facility.

After some time they found themselves faced with a computer terminal, and his master asked him to slice in. While Spike was not an expert in slicing in any way, he could still slice into most computers.

"Alright, just give me a moment." Spike responded.

Arrel started to slice into the computer terminal, and evidently it would take a little while.

"It may take some time, but it shouldn't be a problem."

“Just override the security protocols from the network, reroute the traffic to the local subroutines and overload them with data to force a reset.” Kana took her saber and looked over at Kian. “... Or you know, just actually slice through it with the sabers.”

She didn’t want to come across as a know-it-all but when it came to opening doors that were not hers to be opened she considered herself somewhat something of an expert. It was after all something she had done since she was a kid. So instead of voicing her opinion on the matter any further she simply put the E-11 on her back again.

“And I know this is my life, but it's not easy to keep track of either ‘lives’ when unconscious, Kian.”

Spike nodded on as [member="Kana Truden"] told him how to slice the terminal. It was sound advice so he did just as she had said, and it worked, the door shot open and the trio were free to advance. Spike let someone else take the lead while he would take the rear.

Kian smiled beneath his mask and shook his head at [member="Kana Truden"].

"Did you time as a prisoner reveal anything?" Kian asked.

"We stumbled upon a room of prisoners who were....shaken to say the least. They say prisoners were taken and then never came back." Kian said turning toward [member="Spike Arrel"].

"Let me know when you are in. We need more information on this place." Kian said, stretching out with the force to sense if the guards were closing in on them.

“Well, I found out cameras are a pain to punch.” Kana showed Kian her red knuckles. “I woke up, looked for a way out, punched a camera, ran away and met you.”

“But you make a good point, the people in my cell are all scared. I didn’t ask why, I just immediately started looking for a way out. I left the others in their cells, their involvement in this would jeopardize them far more than I’d be comfortable with. I plan on returning later to see them out safely, of course.”

She turned her attention to Spike.

“Good job, Spike!” She smiled and nodded. “Now, shall we?”

The lab would be a good place to clear out and destroy, wouldn’t it? Yes, yes it would.

As [member="Spike Arrel"] accessed the computer terminal, Kian leaned over him and hit a few keys. He was looking for something specific.....looking for some sort of sign concerning where they would find answers.

"There." Kian said, bringing up the layout of the factory and pointing to a key location in the middle of the foundation. "When the security alarms began going off, security rallied to this location."

"There must be something worth protecting there." Kian said and as he did there was the unmistakable sound of the door being cut from the other side.

"Out of time." Kian said and turned looking for a way out of the room, glancing up he saw a ventilation shaft. "Let's see where that leads." Kian said smiling and used the force to pull the vent free before leaping up and grabbing the edge. Pulling himself in, he began to crawl through the vent. "Last one in closes the door." Kian called out over his shoulder.
