New Dominion

Hello people!

I had held off posting this for a while, but now there is a 30 day halt on invasions, we have room to get a dominion going.

So, taking suggestions for planet and for tier. Personally, I'm more for tier 1, but since we're not facing any invasions this month we could attempt a higher one if people wanted and the rewards were justified.

For some reason I can't see the latest map, so I can't give a suggestion right now.

If we're going for higher tier there needs to be multiple planets worth taking in one area, or else we may as well stick to tier 1.

well I would say Tund, there is always stuff to do there with chances of a darkside cult resurfacing or we can use it as a defensive position. It is out of the way but would make a line we can watch from and traditional military wouldn't give it a second look on a map as it holds no value.... traditional but in the map game we have it so people can just know we have stuff there without real recon.

the only hex for a larger dominion I would say is sith space hex, we'd be able to secure, thule, malachor, ziost and get elom. Three darkside worlds and a fourth one added extra plus helps close off muskree pretty much to sanctum space.

ah we could but would have to do more research got for Saki from Boz and nab eight or nine planets in one swoop... thread will have an objective to make Saki related puns like a frier's club roast.

We could go for the wheel which is a good place of commerce all of our companies can set up shop there while working to make it somewhat safer.

There is some stuff I want to do on Klantooine for a submission so adding that one for selfish reasons.

most of the worlds are well we can go there and make it more developed for a military but Kelsior we could go to and get some stygium for things. A fleet is great but we know there can be value in stealth ships when rped correctly by an experienced fleeter.

While my opinion probably doesn't hold much weight I agree with Coci. A tier 3 in that specific Hex would be a great boon and a simple tier 1 dom of Handooine afterwards would connect the hexes leaving a bunch of other planets encircled in Sanctum territory that could be Dominioned at a later date. But what about the potential for rebellions?

[member="Nikias"] there is a real chance of that but the silver sanctum has some strong members and there is a reason why we have only been invaded once in two years.... and the reason is't location we have had darkside factions within a hex or two of voss easily. Rebellion would also mean we can bring the two beastly ships we have out to play. One a powerhouse of fleeting badas and the other a juggernaut damage sponge that we can sit our strongest battle meditator in.

[member="Valiens Nantaris"] I just thought of something since well some of the worlds to the southwest are two hexes away... Is there a rule or thing on that. If we did a dominion two hexes which adds 50 posts because of an additional hex. Can those be marked for rebellion as well even though it is meant to be a single tier 1?

I am mostly looking at worlds like styx or dredd where we can make a border for a wall of your defensive plan. From Dredd to Boz we could have a line of planets for border defenses and patrols.
 
[member="Coci Heavenshield"] and [member="Matsu Ike"] both make good cases for the dominion ideas they put forth. Tactically with the positioning of the Mado's and One Sith, a T3 dom where Coci mentioned is a sound idea to set up a solid defensive front. Matsu's ideas are also solidly thought out and hitting the hex at Ziost would close the backdoor that is open to the Mando's currently.

We do currently have a month to knock out the doms and cement a better position for ourselves. So my suggestion would be to use the higher tier dom to hit the Wheel/Centares and seal that hex and then with a tier 1 dom hit Ziost or Malachor V to shore up that space a bit as well. The only worry is of course the possibility of a rebellion in the space where Coci suggested, simply due to the high amount of territory that stands to be gained. Not sure what things are looking like for me right now as far as participation goes, whether a lower tier or higher tier dom was selected.

Going for more than one hex away adds +50 to all the tiers. So in that case, tier 3 is 200 rather than 150.

In all cases we must ensure we do not get cloud broken with a rebellion at Boz Pity etc. Make sure we have an alternate path.

We must also be aware that there are those just waiting for a shot at rebelling against us, so we must be ready for that when the time comes.

hmm we go there we get new holstice and that place has some interesting things. The jedi monument and those memory moths would be interesting to see and study.

I'm game for whatever. And if we're gonna risk a Rebellion I think I'll try Fleeting for this next Dom. Mmm. I do prefer my Rebellions with a hefty side of Orbital Bombardment. Yum. :p
