New Event planned

[member="Ali Hadrix"]

I am, but I have some questions. Actually I am already signed up, I just haven't sent in my force selection because I wanted to converse with my fellow Republic participants. And I Don't exactly understand what I can and cannot use.

Same here, the formula seemed straight till I realised I didn't know how it applied to me.
I don't know what I would actually be allowed to use other than myself, which is part of why I posted here. I was thinking we could take it all on as a faction.

Yeah it says no units except for those approved by the Codex, then it has a list of units and I was kinda confused. As I have no NPC Units I assume I could use the generic units and give them an equipment load out, but I am not sure, so I was hoping some of the more experienced people would chime in.

I asked on the OOC board to be sure. We will see.

Yeah, teamwork. Also, the Republic Armory is really, really light in terms of variance so we will need to look through the Open Market for Artillery, Anti-Air, and Walkers of both types

Is anyone else doing the space portion? If you are, I'd like to talk tactics/strategy with you via PM.

As far as ground stuff is concerned, there are some things that aren't listed in the armory yet, but are available for use. For example, I did make us a Armored Personnel Carrier (listed here), which I believe could be used for the mechanized infantry company listed in the campaign rules.

I'll do a bit more searching and see if I can dig up any other units not listed in the armory.

Here are some things that I found that might be useful for the ground campaign:

Arachnid AT

Claymore-class Tank Destroyer

Tempest Anti-aircraft Tank

The one type of unit that I can't find listed in the rules is artillery (we traditionally have used airpower instead). But we can probably use the Raven's Mobile Artillery Cannon since it's listed as open market, and we're allies for this engagement. But I'd talk it over with them first, and we can work on making our own artillery unit for the future.

So this is what I'm thinking for me. I was planning on doing primarily mechanized and armored to try and Spearhead my way through to the shield generator asap then provide support where it is needed. I figure the Factory and the Main Complex are going to be blood baths, especially with PC vs PC vs NPC.

Heavy Armor Company (10 Skocha-class Main Battle Tanks)- 15

Bomber Run- 10
Bomber Run- 10

I chose the six groups of Heavy Armor to bullrush my opposition and the Mechanized Infantry to support to the line. Tanks can lead in infantry and shield them from harm. The AA Batteries won't be needed until after the shield comes down, but I want it there and unless somebody else is planning on running Artillery/AA Heavy I need them. Infantry to provide take and hold power, and two bomber runs to try and clear off enemies that are right on top of me when the shield comes down or provide assistance elsewhere if possible/needed. Tell me what yall think.

I'm in. I'll try and get The Blazing Angels to join as well.

Kiyron

Guest
So, I'll have Veino in the PVP one and Kiyron in the ground battle one. [member="Draco Vereen"] covering armor sounds like a good plan. I'll wait and see who else we can get before nailing down a roster.

[member="Karrie"], I'm not sure about in a combat role ( don't know if she's that kind of character ), but if you wanted to go over some diplomatic-like, political-sort of stuff, I would love to write that with you! I could offer up Ali for that, who will be there intent on fighting on behalf of the Republic.
I don't have any ideas beyond that really but wanted to put myself out there for ya girl!

Karrie

Princess of Baalia and Senator to the Galactic Sen
[member="Ali Hadrix"], Diplomatic/Political stuff is perfect for Karrie, but if she finds herself in a combat situation, she will not hesitate to defend herself and those of the Republic to which the people and the Tenth Fleet of Baalia support wholeheartedly.

@Karrie: I figured as much, but wasn't sure if she would realistically find herself in a combat situation. In an ambush, or unexpected attack, I would expect her to act, but I didn't see a politician running knowingly into battle. What were your plans for her? I would gladly accommodate them!
