SETTING INFORMATION

• City Name: New Hylotl
• Classification: Capital City
• Location: Hoylin
• Affiliation: Confederacy
• Population: Heavy
• Demographics: New Hylotl is by far the most varied populace on the planet, approximately half local human and half not. This is due to the center being the global capital, and having a number of permanent residents being immigrated from the Confederacy.
• Wealth: Wealthy - As the Capital of the city, the new planet wide taxes paid out by local councils is compiled here, in addition to being where the majority of planetary agreements and business contracts are made, all in addition to still being a very gorgeous place for tourism. With all these factors combined, New Hylotl has become perhaps one of the wealthiest cities on the entirety of Hoylin.
• Stability: High - As the Capital, New Hylotl tirelessly works to maintain peace and order within the city. Any incidents are quickly as possible brought to a close, and in comparison with most cities on the planet the activity is exceptionally high. After all, it would be poor form to have instability where world leaders would meet.
• Freedom & Oppression: As the city where the reigning monarch has the most control, the fierce independence of the Hoylin people is perhaps weakest here. That is not to say, of course, that they aren't free, merely that the most trade offs for security are made. The Monarch has near absolute control over the city itself, held in check by the similarly recently formed oversight council, meant to ensure the democratically elected monarch does not stray from a just path.
• Description: A gorgeous city, built in the center of a lake at the border between north and south, the bridge facing west so as not to imply one side's more.. deserving of the place. The idyllic look of the city is meant to inspire, and help guide the recovering world.

Capitol Building and Palace:

The Capitol building, built into the mountain, and Palace built out on the lake with a big stone bridge as the primary method of entry, are recently constructed. The palace has multiple meeting rooms for foreign dignitaries, as well as the living space and office of the reigning monarch. The capital building houses a large number of meeting halls for the Oversight Committee, as well as press conference rooms and broadcast equipment. Also featured in the image is additional housing for visiting dignitaries.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

New Hoylin is a recent construction, built as the need for a new capital came with the realization they lacked sufficient central power in the event of an emergency. Thus a site had to be picked, and somewhere both North and South could agree upon. Ultimately, they settled on a very large lake, and built the capital out into the water itself. The structures were primarily constructed out of wood, with shield generators built on the closest sections of land capable of projecting the shield out around the city, considering its construction of wood makes it susceptible to any threats, especially on the water. The same was done for the capitol and palace, both of which were constructed not too far from the city itself, just a bit closer inland, as they were not within the main protective bubble should it be projected.

While the City was built to house the workers, and those who wished to move into the officially recognized capital, the Palace was constructed to house the reigning elected monarch, and the staff of both the capitol and palace itself. The speed of construction for these grand structures can be attributed to the sizable droid workforce that assisted, at the request and expense of who would be the first elected Monarch, @Aya Clarke. It was partly for this, and the fact she spent much of her own recovery from darkside force influence helping the planet in any fashion she could.

These droids mostly were returned, leaving behind a gorgeous lake city, and central power for Hoylin to experiment with her new government.
