New Intelligence Minister Needed

With Alderaan taking the easy way out (my opinion, not meant for discussion), our current Minister if Intelligence will be forced to resign. Who wants to fill her unfillable shoes?

Ministers are appointed by the Supreme Chancellor IC. And with the Alderanians going mando from an IC perspective, even though the invasion ooc is not decided on, I can see where [member="Jack Sparrow"] is coming from.

It is not like Faith has worked hard to get Alderaan to stay in the GR from an ic point of view, and with her close ties to a royal family that seem to be wanting to dance with the mandalorians that currently has been more aggressive then the sith toward the Republic, it might even come of as strange to let her stay on the post regardless
Ministers are important figures and the SC need to know they can be trusted and carry the political acceptance that is required in a democracy.

My five cents, but then, I might be missing insight on this.

At this time I cannot in good conscience keep Alderaan with the Republic.

I would presume that with Alderaan seceding from the Republic, Alderaanian officials in the Republic would abdicate their offices representative of said system to reflect their desired neutrality. Having Alderaan officials, royalty no less, in Republic office kinda diminishes the purpose of seceding. You can't just leave the Republic and expect to keep all the benefits of it :mellow:

[member="Jack Sparrow"] I'd like a shot at the position. With Alderaan issue behind us, I'd like to refocus on the One Sith and our other adversaries. I see there are a few elements gunning to take their own slice out of OS territory. I'd like to work with them (through proxies) to soften up the OS for some later actions. On the tech side, I think we can do better in gathering information for reverse engineering and the development of countermeasures. I have experience in that with a few items (Slingshot, Biocomm, Deimos, Shawyer Drive).

Of course we are interested. What is it? Perhaps for another thread though?

I dont think [member="Jack Sparrow"] declared if it was a direct "you are fired" or more stating "that Faith cant keep the job and we need to start talking about who would like to fill the shoes."

Heh, Kay had it both ways. She was fired and resigned. The timing wasn't what I had wanted either, but I had to work with it anyways. When big events happen, things get pushed through quickly.

"I think Alderaan can help to broker peace between the Republic and the Mandalorians. At this time I cannot in good conscience keep Alderaan with the Republic. However I will keep Faith with the Republic as an Ambassador from Alderaan to observe on behalf of Alderaan. If she can tell me at a point in the future that the Republic has once again become the beacon it was. We shall consider reapplying to be a member."

I'd no intention to slight you. In fact, I wrote "will be forced to resign." I'm moving on this because I thought it was a done deal. If I'm wrong and a formal decision hasn't been made yet, this thread is moot. Clearly I'd rather have Alderaan and Faith remain where they are, because you're brilliant. And if it turns out you need to be replaced, I would pray that you'd become Alderaan's ambassador so we don't lose you altogether. :flower:

Good good, lets wait and see what happens with Alderaan first and foremost. But it looked like the Alderaan queen and not Jack "fired" Faith ...

If there are several interested in this sort of RP I think there is room for more IC posts. Director of intelligence? Not a politician but still a powerful figure, maybe? And or Minister of information could be another role similair to intelligence?

I want to see other stories develop out of all of this which is very possible and Faith being around isn't bad, and Director of Intelligence, nice ring to it lol
