New Master, New Adventure

[member="Joza Perl"]

Serana was surprised... and happy but also sad as she looked over some fo the things. Scarlet had been killed after their small declaration and now she was looking over some of the things. She was flying across the landscape allowing most of her attention on the bigger things. The temple itself and there was the horse armor that had been fitted on her like a blanket on her back and covering her legs to ensure she was protected. The workers from Sasori had worked hard on clothing and equipment for herself as well as how she could use some of the better equipment. Testing it out but also ensuring that yes her species were able to adapt and become jedi for the galaxy. At least that was the hope with some of the bigger things when she was coming down towards the large lakeside temple and into one of the rooms. Banners and ornate curtains all around while she moved about. She had gotten a chance to have a real master now and wasn't looking to disappoint her with all of her works on the different things. Her lightsaber was in her small equipment pack and she knew how to take it out and use it as needed but she wanted to impress her master with her force talents and knowledge when the alicorn stepped into the room to await her master. Body tall with a long neck and her wings tucked into her body, horn shiny with a tip that gleamed and a mane of purple hair with streaks of red.

After much hemming and hawing, Joza decided that it was time to give back to the Sanctum—starting by taking a Padawan of her own. The Zeltron had become stable enough in recent months to trust herself with an impressionable apprentice, hoping that she would learn just as much by becoming a teacher. Isn’t that what people said? That you learn about yourself through teaching others? Regardless, the Knight was eager to pass on what she knew.

After shifting through the files for the Master-less Padawans and attending a few training sessions to scout them out in action, Joza had settled on Serana. The young Del-Ya had caught her eye simply by her unique race alone, but she was said to be hard working and eager.

Entering the temple, she was not surprised to see that the young equine was already waiting for her. “You must be [member="Serana"] . How are you today?” The question was simple and seemingly innocuous, but the Zeltron Knight would be focusing on what sort of feelings flowed through her rather than the response itself.

She felt her master arrive while she turned around to see her, taking in the sight of the zeltron knight and she spoke which most people didn't expect many to do that. Large horses with a horn and wings was a unique thing alone and then throw in them being able to talk or use the force when she was prepared. "I am doing good master Perl." She said it standing tall and looking as regal as she could given for the most part she walked around naked compared to the rest of the being on the planet. Her mane blowing a little with some wind and a breeze before she found a semi comfortable place to let her master come into the room. "I am just so excited to have a tried and true master.... ah master." She tried for a smile but with her mouth it was all teeth while knicking her head a little in excitement as her tail swished.

“Tried and true...tried certainly.” A brief chuckle slipped past her lips. The Zeltron had been though quite a bit in her journey to become a Jedi, moreso than she’d ever imagined. If there was one defining feature of the Jedi lifestyle, it was that it was certainly not easy. Appraising the tall equine in front of her for a few moments, Joza couldn’t help but let a little smile turn the corners of her lips. [member="Serana"] was certainly eager, a trait she’d also had as a Padawan.

“Good. Serana, why don’t you tell me a bit about yourself? I’ve never seen someone of your..species before. Where do you come from?” The Zeltron had hid her surprise that she’d be teaching a talking horse, but there were stranger things in the galaxy.

Looking at her while she thought about it, there was a few things she wondered about being truthful with... though [member="Scarlet Ghost"] was a difficult one to explain to some people as she spoke. "I come from Shri-Tal in the Asobi system. We were one of the planets the Silver jedi came to when they were working to move out across the galaxy and help people. Our agricultural endeavors are very nice and there are a lot of temple that the jedi have been using over the centuries within the system." She was getting more of her attention onto things and enjoying the idea of talking. "Since I joined the order I ahve been exploring around and getting used to the galaxy at large. Even met a human woman, she died though in an attack by the sith."

Joza remained silent as [member="Serana"] spoke, focusing intently on the young equine to let her know that she was listening. A frown tilted her lips. “I’m sorry to hear about the loss of your fiend, Serana.” Tilting her head to the side in thought, the Knight’s face evened out into a more neutral expression. “I’ve never been there. Perhaps one day I will visit Shri-Tal. I would like to see your homeworld.” The Padawan came from a much different type of area than Joza, who had grown up in a cramped urban environment.

“Now then, what can you tell me about your training? Have you been taught to wield a lightsaber yet? Have you learned any Force abilities?”

[member="Joza Perl"]

She bowed her head with a nod of thought to it. Turning over the idea in her mind while she was thinking about it and she had gotten some nice training from Kei in saber combat... or at least what he could teach her while she turned her head back with the force rolling off of her horn. A disc came out of the equipment pack she had while it shifted over with the proto-mesh she was able to use giving a bow of her head as it slid onto the horn and the small disc held it in place. Serana turned back to look at the master as she offered a bow of her head with it turning on and spinning. "Yes, master Amadis taught me how to use my spinning blade with telekinesis or the mounted ring I have. As well as tripzest allowing me to fly around."

Joza watched in fascination as [member="Serana"] slipped the small disc onto the horn protruding from her head with the Force. She had never seen anything quite like it, and was curious as to how she fought with a lightsaber. “Ah, you’ve taken lessons from Master Amadis? That’s good.” She nodded once, recalling what she knew about Kei. Not much, seeing as how they’d never formally met, but he was a respected Master within the Sanctum. “Oh? You’re a practitioner of Tripzest? I’ve never actually seen that in action before. You just might have an edge of surprise over your opponents.”

Rubbing at her chin in thought, a grin had formed across Joza’s face as she contemplated Serana’s potential fighting style, But there would be time to see that later. “I suppose I should tell you a bit about myself, then. Right now I specialize in defensive abilities. Soresu, Force Shields and the like. I can teach you to block or evade nearly anything. Have you learned any other Force abilities besides utilization of telekinesis?”

mm she had worked on the shieldign crystal and there was a number of ideas she had when it came to the bigger things. She liked the idea of being able to evade and project a barrier that could protect herself and other before she nodded her head. "I would be happy to work with that, a barrier can be nice if it is done well enough I know." She offered something akin to a grin before she moved around. "Though in here is not as good for flying around and using a saber or force ability." She rolled some more thoughts over in her mind though while she was finding a better position for herself while she tossed her mane over to the side with her tail swishing back and forth ready for anything that could come.

“You’re right. Let’s go outside then.” With a motion of her hand and a small smile, the Zeltron would exit the temple. Once out in the open air, Joza inhaled deeply, feeling an almost instinctual need to move the gentle currents around them. Sometimes practicing airshaping could be almost meditative, but now was not the time. She had her first actual student to focus on.

“A barrier is simple to create once you get a grasp on it. Draw the Force to you, then project it outwards in front of your body.” A surprising thread of nostalgia tugged at her heart for a moment, realizing that it was the first ability taught to her by her own Master, Dune Rhur. How far away those days seemed now.

Turning to face [member="Serana"], Joza nodded once towards her. “Let me know when you are ready.”

Alright heading outside was an important task when she was walking through the temple watching her master and then she was outside while getting a few looks but a horse of another color was something anyone could do with. Serana stood tall in the grass as her master was explaining what was happening and what was needed to form a barrier of protection when she reared back with a neigh extending her wings and pulling the force in to her horn. Allowing it to almost glow with her attention before she was pushing out the force energies to make a shimmering bubble for a moment. Slowly coming to the ground with her hooves while the radiating mesh clothing that had been given to her allowed her to better channel the force when it dissipated showing no mastery but she had the barest moment of it being there while she was focusing the energies.

Joza watched [member="Serana"] gather the force to her and extend it outwards, the barrier holding for a few moments before dissipating. Tilting her head in a light nod, she spoke.

“That was good, but we’re going to focus on having you hold it longer. The good thing about a Force barrier is that it can protect you from dark sided techniques like Force chokes and crushes, but it can also be used to block simple pushes and pulls. Even if your opponent is stronger, it may still help to dissipate some of the energy from their attacks.”

Straightening her back and falling into a solid stance, Joza brought one hand up.

“I’m going to send a Force push at you, try and block me with the Force.”

Extending her hand palm out, the Zeltron would send a light Force push towards Serana. Not enough to send her flying backwards, but enough to give her cause to stumble and perhaps fall over if not intercepted.

[member="Joza Perl"]

She stood there and panted a little letting her tongue rest to cool off before her master was speaking with a small idea. To block the force witha barrier she could think about and test while letting the force energies focus for herself with a nod of her head. She was ready for it, she was ready tow ork with the things. She was resting and feeling the force energies while her master explained what she could do and what she could block with the barrier as a few ideas came to her mind of how to effectively use it when she had more stamina for it. A good whield at the right moment could solve a lot of problems she knew while going forward with more of it once her master was prepared to attac her. Not to hurt her mind but to get her to defend and learn how to maintain a barrier when she focused the force rebounding it through the inside of the mesh on herself and to her horn to make a barrier to defend against the push while grinding her teeth to maintain it.

Joza watched as [member="Serana"] took a moment to let the tension out of her body. She could sense the eagerness to both learn and prove herself from the young equine, a quality that had been strong in the Zeltron herself during her apprenticeship. Ambition could either help or hinder.

When the Padawan had successfully blocked her Force push by projecting the Force outwards in a barrier, Joza felt a tinge of pride. The gritted teeth and strain on the Del-Ya did not go unnoticed, however. “That was good work, Serana. You created a successful barrier and negated my attack.” A small smile slipped onto her lips, and she didn’t try to hide it. “Don’t push yourself too hard, though. As my own Master would say, Coruscant wasn’t built in a day.” The Knight had looked back to Dune’s teaching style for guidance. The Bith had challenged her, but had also showed a level of compassion towards his apprentice. He had never thrown her recklessly into a situation she could not handle, and took the time to ensure that she was prepared for what may lay ahead.

Raising a hand once more in warning, she would not move until Serana was prepared. “Ready?”

[member="Joza Perl"]

Wasn't built in a day huh... Serana stood there tall and she could feel it while her breathing was there with a small grin to herself before she looked over at her master with a nod of her head. She was ready, she was prepared for it and she wanted to push herself to find those limits so she knew what she needed to strive for to train through. Focusing on all of it with a small look on her face when the Equine prepared her body to handle the stress and the situation. "I am ready master." She remained there tall and ready when her wings stretched out feeling with the force energies as she pulled them to herself ready to begin again before she focused the force energies to form a barrier to her master so it was between them focusing and letting the force energies flow throughout her body when she was working and seeking to not resist it.

As [member="Serana"] affirmed that she was indeed ready, Joza took a few long moments to appraise the student in front of her. Her hand remained outstretched, though she made no movements, simply feeling the energy of the barrier and the Force around them. Patience was a trait that had been developing in the Zeltron woman, and she occasionally took moments such as this to immerse herself in the Force, as if it were a reminder that it was still there.

Reeling her hand back, Joza would send another push towards her learner—this one stronger, enough to knock the Del-Ya off of her four feet should it make full contact.

[member="Joza Perl"]

She could see her master as the woman was preparing, was ready to begin and the moment pause hung in the air when she was looking over many of the things. 'Alright I am ready.' She said it prepared to the bigger things in her mind when her master did it and she worked to have the barrier defend against it as she felt in in her body jostling and rattling her bones. Her teeth before pushing through with her attention to it. She couldn't resist all of it but she could defend against a lot of it letting herself move when she opened her wings and rose into the air a little using the push to rise her up before she gave a bow of her head when she dropped the barrier and waited for her master to be done. She came down touching the ground and digging her hoof into the ground with the earth there as she enjoyed the feeling of it.

Joza watched [member="Serana"] patiently, brow furrowing just slightly as she saw the limit that the young equine was pushing herself to. Releasing her hold on the Force Push, she gave the apprentice a few moments to catch her breath before approaching her slowly. “That was good, you were able to negate most of it, and use what you couldn’t block to your advantage.” The Del-Ya was clever, using her wings to redirect the Force Push and allow it to lift her into the air where she had more natural control.

“Let’s rest for a few minutes.” Swiftly dropping to the ground in a cross legged fashion, Joza motioned for her student to do the same…or make herself comfortable, rather. “How did you come to the Jedi, Serana?” Idle conversation was a good way to get to know someone, the Zeltron had discovered. You could become familiar with their own little nuances, and gain some insight into how they thought.

Serana looked at her master and gave a nod of her head with a small jerk up and down while she moved and brought out one of the canteens of water setting it up so she could drink it while being there for the time being. She was comfortable and with some water it all felt a lot better as she had added some of the vitamin enhancers that were made to get back for the training padawans whatever it was they were losing when training. A nice touch as she looked at her master nodding. "I was on Shri-Tal when the jedi came, my family lived in the mountains at one of the smaller temples since we lost our home on the moon thousands of years before. When the jedi met us they wanted to get scouts who could see the mountains and offered some of us a chance to join the order. I worked with a few jedi since then but have not had a master."

Placing her palms flat on the ground behind her, Joza leaned her weight onto her arms and listened to [member="Serana"] talk about her home world. Since leaving Zeltros, there were many places that Joza had been, but many places that she had yet to visit. The Jedi must have made a good impression on the natives to allow their children to be inducted into the Order. “That’s good. Out of curiosity, how old were you when you started training?” A pause, and Joza though to offer up a bit of her own past to make it seem like she was not trying to interrogate the equine apprentice. “My sensitivity was discovered at a young age, but I didn’t leave Zeltros until I was…14 or 15? I suppose it might have made training harder or impossible in the older days, but now there are Padawans at any age.”
