New Master, New Adventure

[member="Joza Perl"]

Hmm she had to think about that mostly because age difference in some of the things was an important thing but humanoids didn't do a lot at young ages like her people did. She was thinking it and spoke with a nod of her head. "I was around four or five it was after I could walk and get around on my own." She listened to her master talk about herself and she was taking it in and thinking about it. "I have seen soem older padawans and some really young ones." She was ready for anything and more questions working on the things around the temples. She had prepared herself for anything when she was enjoying it as well as this relaxing moment to train feeling the meshed weave robes she had to wear for her equipment.

Joza nodded slowly, her curiosity beginning to be satisfied over Serana’s people and the Padawan herself. She seemed eager, which was good. Joza had been eager too. In the back of her mind, the Zeltron wondered what she could teach her first actual student. What was sure is that she’d keep watch over Serana if she took her on—even in Knighthood, considering Joza’s own difficulties. Not to say that Serana would fall for a Sith, but everyone faced their own challenges with this sort of lifestyle.

“There is something you should know about me, Serana.” Her casual body language belied the heavier tone she took on. Tilting her head, she looked the young equine full on in the face. “I am not a Jedi. I was trained by the Sanctum Jedi, but I do not ascribe to any codes. If you wish to learn under me, I cannot teach you how to live by the Jedi Code. But I am not a Sith or one who ascribes completely to the dark side. I fight for my friends, loved ones, and for the innocents who cannot protect themselves.” In a way, she went by her own personal code, and she was aware that she was not the only one.

“I can teach you to fight and defend, and how to sharpen your skills in the Force. I will not teach you to be a Jedi, but your own person. If you are looking for proper Jedi training, then I suggest you search for a Master who can provide that.”

Now that the words came out of her mouth, she realized that they sounded a bit cruel. But Joza was curious to see how [member="Serana"] would respond. She didn’t want to lie to the Del-Ya, and took teaching seriously.

Hmm she was looking at her now and thinking about it while she listened to her master speaking about the code and jedi and how she didn't follow it which... Well there were more and more who didn't follow a code or were jedi. It was disappointing but she was looking to learn the ways the force and become stronger. At least she wasn't a sith or just another one of the ones going about using the darkside all the time. She could learn and follow the methods needed to serve the lightside of the force. She'd even have a chance to get a better perspective on the force and the others in the galaxy." "That is fine master. I can learn from you and just not use the darkside."

A hint of a smile curved her lips at Serana’s response. “I will not teach you what I know of the Dark Side, Padawan. It is a slippery slope, and is to be used sparingly.” Even those who thought they had mastered control over themselves could be liable to slip further down the rabbit hole of corruption with judicious use of the Dark Side.

“Just because I am not a Jedi does not mean I am without my morals, however.” While some of said morals were, er, loose in certain areas, others were air-tight.

As if to horribly illustrate that point, Joza took advantage of her student’s more relaxed state. Flicking two fingers forward, she would send another Force Push towards the Del-Ya—enough to perhaps push her back even as she sat, but not hard enough to hurt her.

She was listening to her master and nodding her head when she felt it and went leaned back with the force push grounding her legs to stand tall and ready before rearing back with it. SHe was used to worlds where they could get knocked down easily if you were not careful and they could handle a lot of the things that were happening. With a look over more of it though the padawan was just glad to be working with her master and they would or should be able to be all cool when she backed up a little and came down standing there. "That is fine master, I don't need the darkside. It doesn't serve well for a jedi to become corrupted and use it if they want to serve the lightside of the force."

Joza sighed, shaking her head. “You were supposed to block that. Perhaps I was too soft?” Indeed, her student only rode out the Force push—not that it was a bad thing, it showed good judge of skill. Instead of sending out another, stronger burst of Force, Joza allowed it to seep from her presence like a paralytic serpent.

“The Force, as I’m sure you’re well aware, is very versatile. It can be used offensively, defensively as I’ve taught you, and even in a supplementary manner. Some use it to enhance their speed or strength, others can induce dizziness and nausea. Sometimes you can use it to control pain, and sometimes…”

She would seize [member="Serana"] with the Force, attempting to push her over into a catalytic state. It wouldn’t hurt nor would she lose consciousness, but the Del-Ya would find her body unable to move lest she fend her Master off.

“…sometimes you can neutralize your opponents without igniting your blade. Stunning them with the Force, is, in my opinion, an ethical way to fight.” Of course, she left out the part where she thought that cleaving heads from bodies and burning them to ash was also an ethical way to fight.

She was looking at her master and remaining focused and ready feeling the force energies as they coursed throughout her body with a nod of her head. She was prepared to do it, to make this work and to watch her master. THe necklace she was wearing glowing brighter on her neck when she put her head down so her horn was facing her master to resist the force attack allowing the force to shimmer around her body to defend and work to block the force attack. Letting it flow throughout her body and outwards as she wasn't going to give and set herself to remain conscious and moving despite the feeling like her stomach was dropping out from inside of her.
