True, but the enemy of my enemy is my friend. We can't directly war against the Sith due to the current peace treaty, but that doesn't mean supplies and munitions can't be brokered under the table. Some of the jedi (who aren't 100% happy with Republic politics themselves I might add.) would probably be very open to offering their aid in combat as well, though most likely, they would be stripped of their rank within the Jedi Order to maintain the treaty with the sith.

this isn't about anything as simple as being loose cannons and vigilantes... my point is more to the republic which promises peace and security... by sponsoring terrorism against other states and inviting the horrors of war... rebels at least owe to no one

I'm not sure this is the thread with which to be declaring anything towards the Republic in regards to sponsoring terrorism. Lol. You could at least do the Sith Empire justice and label them equally as: Suicidal Mass-murdering Terrorist/Pirate Crusader-Raider Toilet-huggers. For shame.
