They ask (in a roundabout way) because your username is also supposed to be your character name or alias, rather than a username used as a placeholder.

Well the character's callsign is Prophet so the name relates in that way. The reason it's 'hi im prophet' instead of just 'prophet' is just because I like it.

If it confuses people that much I should probably request it changed... unless the functionality exists for me to do that myself? I presume that's what the 'edit display name' field is for in profile settings right?

I knew someone would comment on the period.

Sorry I'm just not as used to having to have my name match. Would people find it easier if I just changed it to 'Ezra Haylee', first and last format like most of the usernames I've seen? I'm not trying to be difficult I promise it's just different for me, I'll try to learn.

It's fine as it is to me, if you wish for it to be Ezra Haylee that would be perfectly fine as well. I regularly change my account name to reflect changes in my character's personality - Darth Vitium being a more ruthless and cruel, sometimes ambitious, Silara, while generally Silara is more or less "human" or "normal" in regards to attitude and such. Getting engaged will make you see stars for a while

My original idea, because the character is a spy, was to change usernames and avatar/signature themes based on who he's pretending to be at a given time.

Anyway I'm not really sure what the best way to get started is.
