As George continued speeding around the group firing at the now wide spread wolves. He couldn't help but notice one of the other riders in some sort of trouble. There had been an accident involving one of the other riders and one of the wolves. Without firing a shot a wolf had gone down. George although had been capturing these animals didn't want to see them hurt. He sped back over to the fallen wolf coming to a stop next to it. It wasn't moving. George hopped off his speeder and placed his hands on the beast. He could feel the pain inside it. It wasn't dead, but in some pain. George did his best to calm the animal before signalling to the drop ship for help.

As the drop ship came over and the wranglers dropped down to the surface George briefed them on the situation. "Alright guys, its taken a nasty hit, its alive but not in good shape. Once you get it up there you need to provide medical treatment." The wranglers nodded their heads as they quickly got the animal into a holding pen as it lifted back up into the ship. Hope the poor thing is alright. As George watched as the ship moved away to pick up more of the captured beasts. George looked around for the rider to see if everything was alright, he didn't see where they ended up or if they had crashed again after that.

Karen whipped around at the bend to take stock. O Rourke and Audren seemed to be getting the hang of this. Let the wolves reach a full gallop then zap them when the speeds matched up. However, O Rourke had dismounted. Brave in Robert's opinion. Wolf packs get brave around stragglers. Especially when there is no rumbling engine or scrambling dust trail to shock their ears. These were dangerous animals. Unfamiliar with strangers that walked their planet on two legs. New sights, sounds, and smells. It made the pack unpredictable. Curious. And worst of all. Hungry.

So imagine Karen's surprise when Coci had lulled a Pack Mother and her cubs into an happy enchantment. Now that was impressive. Truly the Force is the Archpower in this universe. When even alien creatures can be tempted into complacency with it's prowess. Whoa. They didn't call Coci a Master for nothing.

She tapped her helm and commed her pick up crew,

"Red, it's Blue. What's our status with the pick ups?"

"Sixteen in this canyon. We're already collecting the critters now. You boys gonna move on? We're good here? My guys don't leave their cables. We're golden Blue. So what's the word?"

"And the single pair of riders to our north?"

"Ah. Terry's suppose to have eyes on them soon. I don't have a dropship going their way right now. But... We'll scout it for pick up."

"Okay. Well, tell Terry and Velvet to keep a count of how many animals they tranq up there. Let's keep a list shall we. Corporate is gonna wanna see the paperwork eventually."

"Yep. I'll sound at him. No biggie."

"Okay Red. Over and out."

Roberts dismounted and pulled out a Thermal Sensor Lance from her saddle bags. Spiking it deep into the red earth and flicking the switch. Checking her wrist com for signs of further pack movements on the ridgeline. Good. All was quiet. Just the way she liked it. No furry reinforcements for the moment. They had time.

She put her pistol in the air and waved the crew over,

"Okay people. Let's regroup. We're got one more canyon to run before we lunch. But let's recap on how we did. Never hurts to take a breather."

Roberts kinda wanted to talk with Coci Heavenshield about how she had done that charming trick. After all, Ol' Blue was an amazon at heart. Charms, empathy, and illusion magic went right over her head. She was more into explosions, rocket launchers, and C4; then in teaching alien wolves how to obey her.

"Yeah. Might have to learn that trick. Could save the future colonists a lot of hassle with the wildlife. Hmm."

Kaitlyn Solay said:
"I have to say these apartment style prefab housing units are pretty slick we're helping with. Just slip the fully constructed modules into the building site skeleton, which really looks like a wine rack to me, hook them up to the utilities, then put some finishing touches on them like we are now with the trim and wham… an instant new home for someone and/or a family, even on this remote red desert planet. Now the real question will be… Is this place sustainable on it's own?"

"I can't really answer that yet, but I can tell you the homes will do nicely. There are many worlds that could benefit from work like this. Between you and me though, it's been too long since I got to use my lightsaber."

Judah had been itching to get into a scrape again. Most of the work they had been doing lately was humanitarian in nature, and while it was good work to do, Judah was a guardian, and trained to fight. He was a soldier, not a diplomat. Which was ahy he chuckled at Kait's answer about the kiss. It was certainly more diplomatic than what he would have said. She could say what she wanted to about him getting the kiss because he had been the hero, but he had felt the feelings which were associated with the kiss. Like his father he was an empath, but Judah knew this was one of those times to remain quiet.

"You'd certainly make my mother smile with that answer. Likely make some crack about how my dad is her hero or something like that."

The work continued, and the older padawan tried to not think about his parents. He was the independent almost mid twenty something Jedi. Truth was, he'd also been a home body as much as he liked adventure. JJ did miss his parents. He finally stopped working, and sent them a message telling them what he was up to. Kait would see that he was texting someone. He wasn't hiding it.

"Maybe you'll meet them yet. I just let them know what we're up to. I kinda actually do miss them."

The jolt of the Fire Wolf hitting the speeder bike was far more pronounced than it would have been had there been three or four wheels on the ground. Then again, had there been wheels on the ground, there was a good chance the bike would have flipped. The force of impact was enough to pull the speeder out of its left turn and orient the nose to the right of where it'd been going. The inertia affected Audren's body so that the speeder continued it's rightward turn, leaving him hanging on to the handlebars to avoid being thrown from the speeder. By sheer force of will, he managed to re-center himself on the seat and straighten the bike from its turn.

By now he was almost back to the mouth of the canyon. He didn't care to head back to the campsite, even if it hadn't been on purpose, so he slowed and prepared to turn again. That turn never happened, as one last wolf came streaking through the flats nearly parallel to him. Instead, he fluttered the throttle a bit and did the riding equivalent of a sidestep, bringing him within easy shooting distance. Releasing the left handlebar, the Sephi aimed as best he could and pulled the trigger. Four shots lanced out, only two of which hit. Those two were effective though, knocking the wolf's legs from under it and knocking it out even before it skidded along the dirt to a stop. Minor abrasions, nothing that it hadn't seen before. Holstering his gun, Audren banked back around towards the others just in time to see Roberts wave the group over. She spoke as soon as they'd gathered.

"Okay people. Let's regroup. We're got one more canyon to run before we lunch. But let's recap on how we did. Never hurts to take a breather. Yeah. Might have to learn that trick. Could save the future colonists a lot of hassle with the wildlife. Hmm."

The last bit was directed more towards Master Heavenshield than anyone else, and Audren was thoroughly confused. He didn't allow that confusion to take root though, instead summing up a quick report for the Master. No doubt he'd tagged the least, but he hadn't gotten zero, and that was a start in the right direction.

"Pretty sure I got one or two on that first pass, definitely got one on that last bit. Not sure what happened to the one that hit my bike though."

As Master Robers summoned the riders back to the group. The first run wasn't too bad, had hit two wolves and looked after another unfortunate wolf that had impacted with one of the other riders. As Master Roberts had a few words about the last run and about the next run. The 'last' one before lunch George was getting lost in the thought of more food and water. As he thought about it he pulled his water bottle out taking another large gulp trying to keep him self hydrated. Sitting on the speeder in the group he said. "Not a bad run, managed to bag two and its alright mate I checked on the wolf that hit your speeder, its fine. Got the boys to pick it up." George was mainly speaking Audren for the last part. Making sure he knew the wolf that hit him was alright. The group had a little rest before getting ready to move out.

Vassara managed to rope the animals up in a few ties and began to drag them back to the speeder. Not the most ceremonious way of doing things but hey, had to e done right. Doc and herself had gotten a few between them, and that was all that really counted. There was a method to her madness. Lifting each up with a feat of force strength she manage to tie them off on either side of the speeder, slightly to the rear and climb on.

"C'mon Doc, we gotta go back. Didn't you hear the comms?"

Vassara fired up the speeder, twisting to double check the security of the knots. It wouldn't do to harm these beasts, she'd have to take it slow... real slow.

"How far is it to the camp, Vass? Ten minutes or less, I'll fly myself next to ya."
Lorane was not so hot on the idea of trying to sit on the same bike as a whole pile of unconscious wolves. He made sure his jet boots were on before walking up to Vassara and her bike and grinning at her.
"Either way, I get to show off a little."

"Oh? New boots!"

Vassara smirked at the Doc. For a medical professional he had a lot of quirks. Being drunk all the time and having six pistols was forst and foremost. But those boots though.

"So fashionable, Where Can I buy em?" She shot with a grin, before gunning the throttle and racing off, leaving Doc in a brownout of red silt.

"Oh, you like 'em? Ask me nicely, and maybe I'll get you some."
Lorane jokingly winked and stuck out his tongue as the jets in his boots hit a high enough speed to catch up to Vassara. The repulsorlift engines in the boots cut in with the jets, making it easy for him to maintain the speed. He sat down in the air like he was on a bike and grinned at her.
"Vroom!"

The group assembled near the end of the canyon as the pick up crews went about their job. Roberts raised her hand like a visor and peered off at the flight crews in the distance. They were doing well. The beasties were stunned and ready for bagging. Easy as pie.

"Well then. It looks you all have the makings of a natural Game Warden after all. And all while shooting from the saddle too. Ha. Well done."

She leaned back and nodded. This was a talented crew indeed. The rest of their time on this planet go smoothly no doubt. Yes. She could already feel it. Victory was already in the bag.

Karen looked to Sykes and smiled,

"You did well Padawan Sykes. Even after facing a challenge you did not give up, nor lose control. You seem very adaptable too. I expect you'll make a fine Jedi Knight someday. Well done."

Blue turned to O Rouke and nodded,

"And you, Padawan O Rouke. You do not disappoint. I've never battled alongside your kind before. But after watching you ride back there? Ha! I dare say you're the Paragon of your species. The Jedi are stronger for having you. Excellent work Padawan."

To the others she simply smiled and let them take a moment in repose. The shuttle boys were almost finished with the pick ups too. Nice.

"Thank you Master Roberts, it means a lot." George replied bowing his head in appreciation. To gain recognition from a Master he had just met was a great achievement for George and he was thrilled. He readied his pack and made sure he had a full water bottle within easy reach whilst he was on the speeder. Didn't need him reach all around and loosing focus did he. He adjusted his clothing giving a few itches and scratches where needed, mostly because of the sand that had gotten into places sand shouldn't be. But also to freshen up as best he could. But once again he was ready to set off and bag some more beasties.

The group assembled near one mouth of the canyon. It was an ideal position, allowing them access to other areas as well as a view of what had been accomplished here at this location. And to help the handlers in the unlikely event they needed it.

"Well then. It looks you all have the makings of a natural Game Warden after all. And all while shooting from the saddle too. Ha. Well done."

There was a moment's pause as Roberts thought something, then she turned a brilliant smile at him.

"You did well Padawan Sykes. Even after facing a challenge you did not give up, nor lose control. You seem very adaptable too. I expect you'll make a fine Jedi Knight someday. Well done."

Audren bowed at the waist, an echo of his initial bow to her. His own grin was also visible, even though he fought to hide it. He was a sucker for a pat on the back - figuratively, a literal pat on the back would be awkwardly received from any but the closest friends - more so than physical rewards. Even so, he didn't miss the lady's praise for George; she was not being stingy with the compliments today. It was about time to head on to the next run, the handlers were almost done gathering the stunned animals.

While they waited, the Sephi pulled out a water bottle and took some drinks. He didn't feel thirsty, but his lips were chapped. That could mean a few different things, not least among them dehydration. Or it could mean he had just been flying too fast, that was certainly a possibility.
