New Sith in Town

[member="Keira Ticon"] OK I gotta ask, and I'll probably look stupid but oh bloody well. What's the difference between a Dark Jedi and a Sith?

[member="Seraphina Shel'tah"] I don't foresee our meeting ending in hugs and friendly goodbyes dear lmao

[member="Jayce Pryde"] Regarding your question, if you ever thought about stealing my ship....don't.

You've never get to Voss to try it. And if you got near it off-planet, I'd hunt you down and skin you.

Not officially, but I would.

And warn you not to do it again.

:)

Not Jedi, but Krest would fight against Sith.

Well, if they started the fight.

In the simplest form:

Sith follow the doctrine of the Sith Order, their Code, etc; Dark Jedi are either fallen Jedi or other force users who utilize the Darkside of the Force without necessarily adhering to the Sith/their Code/beliefs.

Of course it's more complicated than that.

Essentially what [member="Kyra Sol"] said for a textbook definition. On a more personal level for Keira it's more her just being a rogue darksider that doesn't follow any doctrine except for her own skewed version of morality.

And I don't want to start any arguments, but technically Sith are Dark Jedi, since the very original "Dark Lords of the Sith" were only exiled Dark Jedi. But that's beside the point, hm? :p

[member="Connor Harrison"] yeah I think I know who you're talking about. And he said you owe him a few posts actually.

[member="Kyra Sol"] cool. Thank you, and I prefer your short simple version lol

Darth Timoris

To err is human, to forgive divine. And I'm no god

To answer your question - ask 100 people and you'll get 100 variations - but my take on it?

A Dark Jedi uses the Dark-side but does not follow the Sith Code. Characters like Asajj Ventress would be a good example. She was taught by Dooku but never embraced the Sith philosophy.

The Sith follow a religious dogma based around the Dark Side. They're a cult, a religious order much like the Jedi. Although the Sith traditionally glory in advancing the self, they still adhere to the idea of owing an albeit warped sense of obligation to their order. It's a strange balance of self-serving and cooperation. Darth Zannah is an excellent example of this as she never forgot what she stood for. They also have a lineage, a proud history dating back to Ajunta Pal and the exiled Dark Jedi on Korriban.

Set Harth is the opposite. A Dark Jedi, he became corrupted by a fascination with the Dark Side. However, despite an offer to join the Sith, he continued on his self-serving path. He had no interest in those obligations of Master and Apprentice.
