New Tomorrow

"Does it matter...?" She looked at the door before her that was propped open and then down at the case that held it open, a sigh escaped her lips as she leaned down to pull the case free from the confines of the durasteel door. The door slammed shut infront of her causing her to stumble back a bit, she tossed the case behind her and re-approached the door and punched in the access code. "I'm getting my items and going down to the Medbay, hopefully the Bacta is still worth something on the ship.."

The door hissed as it slid open to reveal a dimly lit room to which Aaralyn entered. "There isn't much to tell and there isn't much I can do about it..." She was guarding her emotions well, burying them deep within the bowels of the Force. Her tone has changed to one void of emotion.

[member="Antares Windu"]

"It matters." He said bluntly. Almost every single Jedi Master that he had met liked to keep their secrets. The day that he met one that was forthcoming would most probably be never.

Unless they were Carn Dista. He was like an open book.

Antares frowned when she just dodged his question again.

All the time.

"I ask because I'm curious. I ask because the Jedi Order hardly has any information from more than one hundred years ago. Of course the rest of the Galaxy has information on education and the like, but we Jedi of this current day and age have no understanding of how things were eight hundred years ago." He droned on.

Perhaps he had said too much? Or maybe too little?

"I know there was a Jedi Master Mace Windu. I know he died, but I do not know how. I know of the abilities he created in his time as a Jedi, but I don't. Know. How." That was probably the most heartfelt thing he was ever going to say to somebody else.

"You are the key to completing our Archives, Jedi Master."

[member="Aaralyn Deltain"]

It was his words that caused her gut to sink in, not literally but enough to make the room swim enough to where she threw up. She held up a hand towards him and ran into the dimly lit room, the sound of her vomiting echoed through the empty deck, creating an uncomfortable situation. Soon it became dry heaving and eventually subsided. For a few minutes there was silence, and then motions within the dimly lit room before finally she re-emerged from the Captain's Quarters. Her arm still cradled her stomach tightly, the nausea had faded but the emotional trauma of knowing she was approaching the age of Yoda in theory made her sick to her stomach.

"800 Years?" She shook her head. "Master Windu? I met him once, a long time ago when I was in the Galactic Republic Senate, he was a good man." She made a motion towards the younger Jedi as she calmly moved to the closest chair near her and sat down. "I was there during Order 66 as a Senator and unfortunately was powerless to do anything but cause a ruckess that made Palpatine send the ISB knocking on the front door." She shook her head softly and then shrugged, tilting her head as she glanced up at him.

"You're my missing link to figuring out why this happened..." She looked around the command deck. "And exactly what I have missed in 800 years..." She made a motion with her arms, spreading them wide, her arms then fell down into her lap with a heavy sigh. "Believe me, this isn't an easy pill to swallow..."

[member="Antares Windu"]

He didn't want to have to explain everything that he knew of the Galaxy's history to this woman. Not because of who she was, but because of the amount of time it would take. It would be needless and time consuming.

But he would do it, when he got them time.

"Lock the Bridge, and we'll go to the Medbay." He said to the supposed Jedi Master when she had confirmed that she had met Master Windu. The man who Antares wanted to make proud, but didn't even know. It was odd, would his ancestor's relative be proud of him? Or would he rather the Windu be more strict in his ways?

He started on his way to exit the bridge and then he stopped and went back to her, so that she may take his arm. She just been woken up from eight centuries of sleep, had an argument with the most stubborn person that she had probably met in centuries. Mainly because he was the first person she woke up to see, and then found out that she was the last of a forgotten Legacy?

Not to mention she'll probably feel a lot of weight upon her shoulders when she has to complete the Jedi Order's Archives.

"Lead the way." He said, but he was still going to help her down the hallway. With the bridge door locked, it'd give the impression they were still upon the bridge. That is, if the Mandalorians were trying to find it.

[member="Aaralyn Deltain"]

Aaralyn took the arm of [member="Antares Windu"], keeping her gaze down at the floor as they walked off the bridge. As soon as both of them were clear of the command deck, her right hand abruptly extended out and smacked a console beside the doors, and punched in a key-code, the outer doors sealing over the inner doors of the bridge. She turned to look at [member="Antares Windu"] and once again propped herself up against him. "Down the hall and to the right is the turbolifts, take it to the 4th level.."

He nodded his head at her when she took his arm. More in thanking her for letting him help, than anything else. The sudden movement of her right hand slapping out to hit the console's shocked him, but not enough for him to just stop.

He kept on moving as always. Never hesitating.

Walking her down the hallway he looked at the corridors as if he would find signs of combat on them. He didn't. "What did the unknown ship look like. Was it organic?" He asked. It could have been one of the very first ships to the supposed emergence of the Yuuzhan Vong into this Galaxy.

He knew this much of History. Since Yuuzhan Vong were still around after all.

[member="Aaralyn Deltain"]

"Perhaps, when the time comes I'll have to go back and look at the holorecords in the Captains log and see if there is any external camera angles of the attackers..." She shrugged slightly as she leaned further into [member="Antares Windu"]. She pressed a button to summon the turbolift, the sound of metal clanking echoed down the turbolift shaft as it began it's journey upwards. "What exactly brought you out this far?"

"Indeed." He replied to her statement about the Captain's Logs. "I wouldn't be surprised if you get nothing based upon our luck with the hyperdrives." He said with a rueful grin and he paused when he wondered what the loud sound was.

Turns out it was the old turbolift coming down to pick them up, and once they had entered, began it's upwards journey to the medical bay once they had selected Level Four.

"An Invasion upon Coruscant." He bit out. For a moment it seemed he zoned out when he thought back to how he performed a perfect Sai Tok upon a Sith Knight. Splitting her in half from head to groin. Perfection at it's finest as far killing someone went.

But performing such a move left a stain on Antares's mind, and his morals as a Jedi. Jedi didn't do those things, they arrested people, and only killed until the last resort. But hadn't? If he hadn't killed her, surely he would have been killed. If not by the Sith, then the Myrshavong behind him.

"I came out here to clear my thoughts and to patrol the fringes of space. The Republic doesn't have many friends at this time." He said as he watched the level numbers change as they ascended.

"Did you have friends on this ship?"

[member="Aaralyn Deltain"]

"Yeah, you're breathing them in, touching them and stepping on them." She said as she moved towards a bacta tank and began manipulating the controls. "800 years apparently is enough time to turn corpses into dust, I had some of the finest men and women in the Republic military onboard this vessel, as well as the Jedi Explorer Corps." The bacta tank began filling with a blue liquid and soon a tank of dark red liquid opened up on the side and mixed it's contents with the blue, creating a murky purple colored water.

"I can sense that you're troubled about a death...no wait..." She held up a hand and turned towards him as she began undressing, tossing aside the armored tattered clothes. She reached up and pulled the dusty curtain infront of her and sighed heavily. "Your thoughts wander to someone you killed.." She couldn't sense beyond that, the kid was strong in the Force and Aaralyn wasn't the type to intrude on the mind of others. His thoughts were on the surface though and she could feel his discord. She dressed herself in a medical tanktop and bottoms before she tossed aside the curtain and motioned him forward.

"I'll need you to hook up the medical devices, you think you can handle that?" She turned and looked at the various needles and the oxygen mask. "It's really simple, if you need help...I think he might still work." She peaked around [member="Antares Windu"] and pointed to an old 2-1B Droid that was hunched over. "If not, well...we can skip the traditional meds and just put the mask on me when I submerge...deal? She started to strap a pack around her waist as she moved over to the tank. "You will have to watch out for the Mandalorians."

Antares almost made a comment about how it was such a shame of how he was stepping on them, but he refrained from doing so. It probably would have been taken as a sarcastic comment, and if not a sarcastic comment, it wouldn't have made her any more happy.

Windu wasn't always good at making people feel better about themselves. Only on rare occasions.

"That isn't any concern to you." He said, stretching out the phrase to get his point across. He was too stubborn to get help from someone who probably hadn't even seen a Sith face to face. Not counting the sneakiest Sith of all time, Darth Sidious of course.

She had lived in the era of the New Republic, he doubted she even knew what a real Sith was like. Besides, he was still sceptical of her actually coming from such a long time ago and being in her condition.

There was something about her. He wanted to know.

Walking towards the droid, not even bothering to do what she had asked of him. Antares knew he couldn't handle machinery or technology that well. His ship and lightsaber being exempt from such a thing. When the droid had activated and almost seemed to shake, Antares saw the dust particles come off of it's shoulders and he stepped away to re-deliver her orders to the droid, that she had given to him.

Walking towards the medical bay doors, his lightsaber was still clasped in his hand and he looked down the corridor while he waited for the Mandalorians. "This better not take long, Aaralyn."

The black frame of the CZ-836 assault rifle faintly gleamed against the dim lighting of the Republic warship. Jedediah was no mere soldier, as were his vode. Brothers. He'd seen tough engagements all the way back to Ossus and Metalorn, even some action in the latest events happening on Coruscant. The Republic had wavered and fallen in that engagement, shoving the once proud Republic soldier to seek loyalty elsewhere while the government collapsed around him. He was ex-Republic, if these people were civilians from the territory, he'd show much more sympathy than those native to his culture.

"Dravik, Tayne; take left. Go for the bridge." He threw up his left hand, flicking his index finger in the direction of the corridor heading to his left. "Zarra, you're with me." The helmet he was wearing made his voice sound much deeper, and that gave him a little more confidence. "Copy that, vod." And like the highly trained commandos they were, the separate teams scoured for their destinations as best as they could. For Jed and Zarra, they were headed towards the crew quarters' bay and then the med center. The other two went for the bridge and then the communications room. Even though they came armed, they had a reason to be.

Trespassers weren't welcome in Mandalorian space, especially if they showed up on a warship. It didn't matter than this was the fine line border between the two massive solar empires, what mattered was getting the job done.

Song - Extraction Point by Hans Zimmer
"I promise it won't..." She was fitted relatively quick by the ancient droid, her hose hooked up to the oxygen line as she climbed up and into the Bacta tank. She emersed herself into the liquid and no sooner after she entered the liquid muck, did the tank seal itself. The swirling and bubbling bacta consumed her form quickly, fizzing as the liquid seeped into her pores, healing her wounds. She could feel it go to work almost instantly, healing the sore muscles and the aching joints that hadn't moved in a few hundred years. The sore stomach that had suffered what felt like malnutrition felt revitalized once more and the feeling of overwhelming deyhdration was swept away. It was a matter of moments before she could once again feel throughout her body, every fiber within her being.

The Force was there too, and she called out to it. She focused intently within the confines of the Medical center, raising her right hand as she did. Her motion slowed slightly by the liquid. A swirl of invisible energy encased the ancient 2-1B droid, causing it to rise slowly. She could see the sensors flashing through the Force, the intricate lines of Force energy that connected everything in this Universe. She blew bubbles out of the oxygen mask as she let off a chuckle of glee, she began twirling her finger causing the Force energy to manipulate the droids movements outside the tank. Then, just like that, she opened her hand allowing the droid to drop harmlessly to the ground.

Another moment or two later, she felt she was ready, her eyes opening and her body shifting in the water. She made a flicking gesture towards the control console, the mechanism that controlled the bacta tank dropped down and unsealed the device holding Aaralyn within. She could sense the sudden urgency from [member="Antares Windu"] as she too felt the Mandalorians were on the move, a heavy sigh escaped her lips as she clamored out of the tank and tumbled to the ground with a brief chuckle. "Well that wasn't planned..."

She looked at [member="Antares Windu"] who in return shot her a look back. "You know, you could have learned a lesson or two from Master Kenobi." She stood up and pulled the curtain closed. "Give me two minutes."

[member="Jedediah Bagely"]

Antares didn't need to turn around to hear that the droid was being lifted up and spinning around in the air. His hearing told him that she was active again. And his senses within the Force of course. Her recovery had been fast, he appreciated that.

But he sensed the Mandalorians on the move again and he frowned. They didn't listen. Anything to go where you wanted, huh?

Bucketheads.

When she got of the bacta tank, he watched her with a lax expression. "No I couldn't." He retorted, almost sounding like a child. Sadly enough, he had probably just proven her point. "I'll give you one, you don't need to make yourself look pretty." He said, and he clenched his lightsaber.

Instead of looking out into the corridor again, he closed the medbay door and walked over towards her curtain after nearly a minute. He didn't even hesitate as he threw it to the side and ignited his lightsaber on the other side of his body - away from [member="Aaralyn Deltain"].

"We're going downwards." Antares said, and he raised an eyebrow in question. Would she argue, or just go along? His lightsaber was already ignited.

[member="Jedediah Bagely"]

Aaralyn pulled back the curtains from one of the Medical Bay units and approached [member="Antares Windu"], a gloved hand gently coming to rest upon his shoulder. "Patience my young friend.." Her hand dropped down to her sides as she too tapped her lightsabers. "It's so easy to jump right into combat against an enemy that you believe you know so well, but have you first tried to reason with them?"

He gave her a look and she fired one right back. "Besides, this is my ship and if the navigational charts are correct we're in Republic Territory...regardless of how long it's been." She made a gesture with her hand. "We allow them to leave, peacefully." She pointed to his lightsaber. "We go in like that, then we will definitely have an issue."

She took a deep breath, and let it out slowly. This young Jedi was impatient, strong-willed and most definitely itching for a fight. She could sense it through the Force, his eagerness and combative spirit reminded her of someone she knew long ago. At times she could get the same way, but only when the situation had called for it. Not too long before the apparent Force Nexus struck her ship due to the Crystal of Light, she herself had just been confirmed to Jedi Master by the Council. She could relate to this guy, whomever he was.

"Tell me, what is your name?" She said calmly, not waiting for a response directly as she turned back and gently tossed aside a few things. Clothing went flying in different directions as she searched through a small bag before exclaiming in excitement, and as she did, she jerked out a darkened metal gauntlet from the bag. With a grin on her face she began fastening the gauntlet to her wrist and forearm, her attention shifting back to him, head tilting to the side out of curiosity.

Jedediah's tactical light snapped off the instant he heard something in the quarters room a little further ahead of him, Zarra's did too. It was nice actually having soldiers and comrades who were really your brothers and sisters in arms. The Mando way was a dream come true for the born warrior and his shaky past of tragedy and misfortune. "Vod, double check left flank." He whispered, his voice coming out in a little crackle through his helmet comlink. "Oya." Jed smiled at the single word. Let's Hunt. Even though they were warriors, many of them only found glory in honorable battle. Routine patrols like this weren't massive, glorious battles that he and his people so adored. It'd make things a little entertaining by offering a lapse in the patrol schedule, at least.

The Colonel nodded his head at the fellow Mando, both of the commandos stepped into the room, flicking their tac lights on in an instant. "Clear." He breathed, sweeping the little living space with the blob of light. "Verda, we'll be out in fifteen mikes." Zarra took a chance to lower his weapon and give a report back to their vessel regarding their sweep, which would hopefully be done in fifteen minutes. "Copy that, we're on watch." Jed nodded, nudging his comrade and cocking his head at the door. He'd seen a flicker of light. It was a dull blue, he thought.

His helmeted visage peeked from around the quarters area and down a corridor that had the medical bay attached to it. "Jed, the bridge is sealed shut. They're probably in here." He keyed his comms back on. "Check it out, see if you can't get it open. Me and Zarra will loop back after we've checked the med bay and life support areas." The heavyset man silenced the comlink and waved Zarra forward, his low-profile figure hugging the left side of the corridor whist Jed's took up the right side. "Remember, we're still at war with the Republic." Osik! Jed's face contorted into a snarl as he pulled back the bolt mechanism in his CZ-836 assault rifle, chambering the first of thirty SHOCK rounds. Whoever these people were, they were probably waiting for them and lay in an ambush. Di'kutla! He cursed himself for forgetting something like that, especially when he'd even defected.

Zarra was ready, too. His dark red armor was well hidden in the shadows of the corridor. He nodded. They were both ready.

The presence of the Mandalorians approaching the Medbay was apparent through the Force, she could sense their tension. It was like a searing knife that had cut its way into her delicate flesh. A tingling sensation overcame her for the moment, sending chills across her arms as she moved away from [member="Antares Windu"] and to the opposite entrance where the Mandalorians were approaching.

It was time to meet the intruders head on...

She inhaled deeply as she moved across the large medical bay towards the 2nd opening, feeling their presence grow every closer to her own as well as Windu’s. She knew their sensors would have picked up their signature closing in on their own as well. Slowly her hands would rise above her head and come behind the back of her neck, clasping together tightly in an effort to show no hostility as she began to step out…

As soon as her boot made contact with the durasteel floor outside the Medical bay, the muzzle of a rifle jabbed into her side and a second one to her cheek, pressing her face upwards towards the ceiling.

“Well, isn’t that a nice way to greet someone…?” She said with an emotionless tone as she was pushed back into the Medical bay. She grunted as she was spun around and shoved harder, her hands stayed clasped behind her neck, fingers interlaced together tightly.

The instant the durasteel door to the medical bay was opened, Jed and Zarra were on the individual within a second. It turned out to be a human female, and a smart one at that considering she didn't resist the efforts of the pair of Mandalorians. "Udesiir, ni'Tal'galar." The Colonel reminded Zarra. Easy, don't spill blood. Jedediah's assault rifle was the one that went forward to jam into her face, shoving it upwards while his comrade made quick work of her lower areas. They both carried the same weapon, adoring the bullpup design of it, mainly because it was so damned easy to maneuver with rather than those heavier rifles he usually toted around.

"Jate." Zarra muttered as he shoved the woman around. Good. She wasn't resisting at all, though Jed did take note of her cold stature and sarcastic remark. The man toggled his helmet comlink, "We've got 'em." Jed couldn't hear the response, but it was an affirmative one coming from Dravik and Tayne. "Alright, Republican." He sighed, keeping the barrel of his rifle aimed at the woman, though much less tense than he had been before. His vod followed suit. "State your name and reason for being here." His soldier side of him still hung on to many beliefs of the Republic, and it stung to be tasked with removing citizens he used to protect. Removing them from existence or the location, it didn't matter, it was his job now. Hopefully he could just get them to leave, it was the more honorable thing to do.

Jed obviously had this suspect apprehended, so Zarra stepped back and continued to splay his tactical light around the medical bay, scouring for the other voice. "Where's your friend? The male? He was on the comms, y'know." Jed nodded approvingly, glad his subordinates paid attention to the smaller details. If the second passenger was in here, then he was obviously hiding or had ran off. Maybe Dravik could pick him up if he ran.

"I have already told you my name." He said, not even bothering to repeat it. Antares Windu didn't repeat things for people. It was just who he was. Unless they were his Padawan, then they were the exception.

The aqua blue beam of the lightsaber disappeared upon the order of [member="Aaralyn Deltain"]. She thoughr he meant to kill the Mandalorians, she was wrong. Even so, when she had decided to shrug off of his helping arm, he turned back to the door that he had just sealed, the first door and opened it up again only to leave.

Through the Force he could sense that the Mandalorians were only moments away from them, so he had decided to use her as bait. As Sarge Potteiger had done during one of the Republic Dominions. It had worked for him to take down a less advanced force user.

Antares had been the distraction of course.

His foot steps were soft, practically unheard as he went around in the corridors, moving back the way he had come to turn to the right and once he had reached the end of that corridor, to the right again so that he may continue straight until he reached what he thought was the corridor to the 2nd door of the Medical Bay. It was at the end of the hallway so he'd have to hurry if he wanted to get the drop on them, but he wasn't going to attack them.

If they proved friendly.

Slipping his lightsaber into his outer robes sleeve, then putting both of his hands in opposing sleeves, he walked down the hallway, footsteps even quieter than when he had left. It was something that he had been adept at from when he was a Padawan.

His left hand clasped the lightsaber and he prepared to ignite it, if need be. And he expanded his force sense out towards the trio to try and understand what they were saying. Hopefully, the Jedi Master didn't give his position away.

"To be honest, I haven't a clue as to what you're talking about..." She kept her hands tightly secured behind her neck. She could sense the seriousness of the situation and the tone within their voices. "How about we just lower the guns right now, and resolve this issue alright?"

She offered him a smile. "This is probably just a minor misunderstanding that can be resolved with you just walking away before anyone gets hurt..."

OOC/ I've been asked to step in and handle the Mando side of things while Josh is on LOA.

IC/ Red Legion patrol forces running into a lone Republic ship, in disputed space, generally meant that Jedi would get involved at some point or other. And, in turn, that generally meant that Ember Rekali got a call. Not like he could cover every incident -- he was busy these days, too busy -- but as far as Mandalorian Force Masters went, he had both seniority and more experience with Jedi than most. He'd been a Jedi Master, a Shadow, for long years. His beskar-forged sabre still held to Jedi aesthetics, he still accessed the Force through calm rather than passion, his weapon had a fething Solari as its focusing crystal, he'd eradicated the Sith Council archives on Bosph with a wave of Force Light.

He knew Jedi. More to the point, he knew how to repel, discourage, obstruct, and otherwise dissuade Jedi from poking around the edges of contended space, especially with a shipful of Red Legion boys on the line. My country, right or wrong was Ember's mantra now as much as it had ever been as a Republic citizen, as much as it had ever been for any Jedi when trotting off to some dubious conquest.

So when his little Niathal-class shuttle dropped out of hyperspace near the ships, and began an approach to the old New Republic derelict -- when Ember sensed Jedi at work aboard -- he set his jaw and braced himself for the unpleasant part of the job.

The shuttle nestled up to the derelict's hull, and he boarded wearing beskar'gam, gray, mourning a lost love in a way fully as crematorial as the end result of his wrist flamer. Lightsabre clanking gently against his thigh, the old Force tracker made his way toward the Jedi, through the halls. He unveiled his Force presence as he did so.
