The moment Jonyna approached and took her fighting stance, Valery was already moving in to engage. Two violet blades had ignited, one on each side of her hilt, and with incredible speed, the Jedi Master swept in to draw out the Cathar's guard. She hoped to push into it, forcing the other woman to counter with her own strength, before suddenly lashing out with a powerful kick at the side of the Jedi's knee.

Valery was not holding back much in terms of speed and strength, hoping to force her sparring partner into adapting to a more intense training session. Kahlil Noble Kahlil Noble had already brought her down once, and now it was Valery's turn. Not because she wanted to prove a point, but because she wanted to push Jonyna.

Mandalorians were often quite aggressive in their approach too, so Valery was going to fight just like that.

Jonyna had taken her classic stance, one hand on Liz, hidden from view away from her opponent.

She didn't expect Val to take such an aggressive stance, but that was the choice she had made. Now, she had to defend. Quickdrawing Liz, she did her best to block the first attack, but a kick to her knee nearly caused her to falter. No. She was stone, unmoved as she fought through the pain. She had to follow up, but she was on the defensive.

So Jonyna did the first thing to come to mind. She loosed one hand from her hilt, and aimed it right at the hands holding Valery Noble Valery Noble 's saber. She figured, the downside of a doublebladed saber was the commitment. You had no hands free. Out shot a burst of flame, attempting to disarm her opponent. As soon as that was done, the Cathar would pull her main Saber Lucy out of her coat where it was hidden, and attempt to strike at Val's hilt itself. If she could damage it, it would put Val back on the defensive...

Good Men Don't Need Rules
While Cora did happen to have a shield, getting past it with quick actions and enough of a reach to go around the shield, would permit any weapon, not just a pistol, to become very effective. I knew this one personally as I had once carried a physical shield into battle. I smiled deeply when she seemed upset. That emotion would potentially aid her in trying her best to get around my own fighting, and to strike me. Disengaging from me, I took a moment to correct myself before holding the gun out in a full extension, while keeping the blade back and hovering just under my arm. Prepared to strike or defend if need be, while the full extension of the firearm would be accurate to what would be done to make a precise shot.

Cora came lashing out faster than before. More prepared and accepting of the terms to our spar. Lashing out for my hip, I didn't hesitate to take a step back. Changing my weight from one foot to the other to avoid it. While it had been a feint, I noticed too late. The shield coming up quickly in the use of a bashing action. The pistol was pushed upward away from it's intended target.

Again, using a shield before, after closing the distance, I knew the blade would be coming either high, or lower than the shield. Using the shield bash to obscure her next strike. Gambling, I brought the dagger down under the shield. barely matching her pace to have the saber clash with it. With the force she had, it could have easily knocked the weapon from my hand.

That is, if I wasn't ready to go back on the offence.

Allowing my own strength to soften the impact by letting it draw dangerously close to my legs, hoping that she had spent her energy with the strike, I pushed back with the knife. Using the angle of the guard and the blade to move it out from me. My other hand with the gun? I didn't need it. Bracing my arm close to the chest, and already having shifted my weight back, I changed again. Pushing my weight forward towards her shield. Stepping into it with my weight and strength. If I could push her back onto the defense, or even better yet, send her to become off balance by poor footwork, I would be in a prime position to just take another "bang" or stab at her.

A shield can be used two ways. If I could be blocked by it, then so could she even if it was in her control. It was leverage that could be used either way when well within this close proximity.

"C-could you at least pick up a training saber please?" Loomi asked. Even if his lightsaber was out of commission he should still use a substitute.

And the fight began.

Loomi let out an exhale, clearing her mind. She could do this. Her mind cut back to their battle against the Sith Order. The Sithspawn she had faced, how was it that she had dealt with them?

Right. Weaving. She could pull Braze forward to affect his balance. The other thing that needed to happen was disarming him. She could do that with a Shii Cho style strike to his wrist. Her blade wasn't sharp at the moment, so it would at least provide enough of a blow to get his hand to open in response, right?

Yeah, she could do this.

As Braze moved in on her, Loomi reached out in the force, drawing a thread from Braze's robes at the shoulder. She'd give it a tug to pull him towards her and off balance. Then, with her head clear and good eye focused on her target, the Godoan went to strike the boy's wrist.

As Braze circled Loomi, he noted the focused look in her eye. It spoke of a warrior's concentration. "Alright, if you're ready, then so am I," he announced, falling into a defensive stance.

The moment he took a step forward, he felt a subtle tug on his robes at the shoulder, almost like an invisible thread pulling him off balance. It was so precise, so calculated, that he couldn't help but be momentarily impressed. Before he could fully recover, Loomi executed a Shii Cho style strike aimed right at his wrist. He dropped his training saber and it clattered to the ground. He reached out for it and drew it back to his hand using the force.

Braze stepped back with widened eyes. "Whoa," he breathed out, genuinely taken aback by her skill. "That was remarkably swift and fluid, Loomi. I have to admit, you've got some moves I didn't see coming."

Gathering his composure, Braze grinned at her, his earlier caution replaced by renewed excitement. "This is going to be an interesting spar, to say the least. You're giving me reasons to up my game."

He resumed his stance, preparing for the next exchange, his respect for Loomi's skills growing with each second that ticked by. "Alright, let's see what else you've got."

Watching the two, Julius smiled almost relaxed and affectionately. This red-head boy reminded him of himself when he was still a proper Republic Jedi. The lad fought with a controlled passion and a cunning mind, and Julius resolved to see what he could add to that as he waited to see how Corazone responded. Idly his fingers thrummed a beat on the hilt of his lightsabers, and reaching out with the Force, he let himself sink and melt into the flows of combat around him.

Flow Walking wasn't common even for the Aing-Tii, but as his eyes closed, he assumed the deeper twin of his Fighting Sight he was famed for. Dozens of phantoms flowed wherever his mind's eye gazed long enough, shadows of possibilities that each combatant take, and directions each fight might go based on those choices or their absence. Eyes flickered beneath closed lids, and he began to call out to varied combatants in their mind, correcting stances, giving advice in the gentlest of suggestions that most would feel were their own ideas. Telepathy and Flow Walking were about as 'mystical' as Julius tended to get, but he had them down to a science these days.

In particular, Corazona would feel a stronger nudge.

He's trying to overload and off-balance you. Sidestep and riposte into the near shoulder when he stumbles.

"That was remarkably swift and fluid, Loomi. I have to admit, you've got some moves I didn't see coming."

Loomi's face flushed a bright red. Praise was always such a weird thing for her to receive. Echoes of doubts and insults that had been hurled at her in her youth so easily polluted the back of her mind that she sometimes forgot the extent of her own merit. She'd give a wobbly smile at her friend's kind words.

"Th-thank you," the Godoan reacted, only slightly flustered.

Though she was beginning to think that maybe she should restrain herself a little. Loomi had gotten in a strike of opportunity that caught Braze off-guard, but he was far more aware now. She would need to go about this tactically as to not be fully read. That would make this duel a complete wash.

Instead she heightened her defenses, assuming a more protective stance as her opponent prepared for his next move.

Cora felt a tickle of pride in her chest when her shield made contact, forcing his pistol arm upwards. That sensation quickly melted away into something more level when her blade made contact with his dagger, pushing back on her. Sometimes, an enemy would willingly take a blow in order to put themselves in a better position to strike. She had seen that in action many times with Jand Talo Jand Talo , the fearless and calculating Nagai allowing himself to be struck by something he easily could have avoided, only to deliver a decisive hit in turn.

Their training spars seemed so far away now.

A voice – no it wasn't even a voice, more of a vague suggestion – lifted to the surface of her mind. Sidestep and riposte.

Unfortunately, she absorbed the message after allowing herself to be pushed away by Kaleleon's strength. She skittered back quickly, but stumbled. He would hear her grunt from beneath the helmet.

Catching her feet, she steeled herself before lashing out with her blade, a quick jab towards his shoulder. She completed the motion by pulling back again, raising her shield to be level with her chest, and turning sharply into a half spin. Her intention was to bring herself behind him, where she would slash at his knee, the shield raised above her to deflect any blows that might come down.

Despite being pushed back, she got back up much quicker than I had anticipated. She was being pushed harder. Even hearing the grunt from her helm gave me some respite. Yet she pushed on. Coming to stab at my shoulder. Pivoting off of my left foot allowed for the strike to miss sailing just barely past my chest. While she did a half spin, The pistol was raised towards her. Even while I voiced out that I had sent a shot at her, the shield came around in time that if there was a bolt being fired, it likely would have been blocked.

"Bang."

it was a little too late for me to notice the strike coming for my leg. However, like any other Mandalorians, you had to strike the right spot. So lifting my leg just enough to have the shin-guards be struck by the saber instead of at the actual knee, would still be defensive. In that momentary time period of being blocked, I raised my foot just a little higher, then stepped down upon the saber. Sure, even if a Mandalorian had no beskar directly on the soles of the outside of the boot, the boots I wore had a plate underneath the insoles. It was guarded to a degree.

The attempt to stamp on her blade, would hold her weapon in place, or with a bad grip on the weapon, could directly take it from her. Making the saber clatter to the ground. Even if I should miss the attempt to step on it, As soon as my foot hit something solid, I stepped forward into her shield. A quick switch of the of the blade to be held like an Ice-pick, bringing it down around the berth of her shield. Aiming to bring the point of the training weapon down on her shoulder that held the shield up so diligently thus far.

Damaging the arm that held the shield, could allow me further advantage in this fight more than just trying to prevent her from using the saber. Like anyone who knew how to fight a sword-n-board combo, if you can get well within their range of swings, as well as past the barrier to reach around the shield, one could be in a very dangerous position.
