Faction [NJO] Knighthood Ceremony — Colette Noble

Knighthood
The jungle temple of New Cov was a place of beauty and deep connection to the Force. Hidden within the verdant embrace of towering trees and vibrant flora, the ancient structure stood as a sanctuary for reflection and growth, far removed from the bustling skyscrapers and artificial glow of Coruscant. For Valery, it was the perfect place for this momentous occasion. She had chosen this serene setting with great care, knowing how much Colette loathed the suffocating nature of the Galactic Alliance's capital.

The gathering of Jedi was what made it truly special, however, their presence powerful. Masters, Knights, and Padawans stood in respectful silence, their robes catching the faint breeze that rustled the leaves above. The soft glow of bioluminescent plants illuminated the temple courtyard, casting a serene and almost magical light over the ceremony. The hum of the jungle — chirping insects, distant calls of exotic creatures, and the gentle rustle of leaves — provided the only soundtrack.

At the center of the gathering, Valery stood tall, her fiery gaze softened by the weight of pride and emotion she carried in her heart. Colette knelt before her, the Padawan braid still hanging from her hair, a symbol of her years of training, growth, and dedication to the Jedi path. Valery's violet blade rested idle in her hand, the familiar hum of its energy silenced for now, but its presence was no less profound.

For Valery, this moment was deeply personal. Colette was not just her Padawan but someone she had come to love as family, as a daughter. She had guided her through challenges, seen her rise from her mistakes, and watched her forge her own identity within the Order. Today was not just a ceremony. It was the culmination of years of shared struggle, growth, and an unbreakable bond.

As Valery prepared to speak, her voice steady but heavy with emotion, the gathered Jedi waited with quiet reverence. This was more than a tradition or rite of passage. It was a celebration of a young woman's journey, a declaration of her readiness to carry the mantle of a Jedi Knight. The jungle seemed to hold its breath, as if even the world around them understood the gravity of what was about to unfold

...
With the gathering of Jedi watching her every move, Valery stepped closer to raise her violet blade high above the ceremony, before carefully lowering the blade down to hover just above Colette's left shoulder. "By the right of the council.."

Slowly, she re-positioned the blade to rest just above her head. "By the will of the Force.."

Finally, Valery lowered the blade again, hovering it over Colette's right shoulder. "I dub thee..."

"Knight of the New Jedi Order."

A final salute of her blade followed before she disengaged it and returned the weapon to her belt. Her eyes were still focused on Colette for a moment longer, and no matter how hard she tried, it was hard to keep herself composed. She wasn't just Knighting her Padawan and helping her take her next steps as a Jedi.

She was watching her daughter take a new step in life.

Katarine was standing near the back of the gathered Jedi. She was happy to see so many Jedi in one place. Katarine herself was finally starting to feel like she was part of this Order and though she did not know many of the Jedi yet she was hopping she would meet them in due time. Her undercover work kept her away from precious moments like these but today she was here and ready to soak up every second of it. Kat was full of emotion as she watched Valery knight her very own daughter. The Grandmaster must be feeling so proud at this moment.

When the moment came she clapped wit the rest of the Jedi, beaming just as brightly and truly happy to be here to witness this.

This was a waste of time for him.

Not because it was a Knighting for someone, those are important and should be memorable. The problem is, he was in a time crunch with an assignment he was working on. So Connel could not stay long. Once she was given the customary final salute, Connel made a point of being the first Jedi to meet her.

Congratulations, kiddo. You have some big shoes to fill, but the most supportive ones at that. Again, congratulations on your well-deserved success, keep shining bright.

Now he had to go. There was a disturbance with his name on it. With a nod to the GrandMaster, the Master of the Order, and the rest of the Council... with a sign language signal to Efret Farr Efret Farr that he was following up on another crystal, Connel had one last comment.

I'd stay if I could, but work calls, please respectfully excuse me.

With that, he was gone.

Zaiya stood among the crowd of Jedi gathered in the lush New Cov temple, her rosy gold skin glowing faintly in pleasure, Domxite perched on her shoulder. The ceremony was beautiful! Valery's voice carried the weight of the moment, and the jungle seemed to hold its breath in reverence. But Zaiya couldn't stop her thoughts from swirling.

Colette, one of the first friends she made when she first joined the Order, was becoming a Jedi Knight. Zaiya couldn't help but beam from the sidelines, pride and joy rippling across her skin in vibrant hues. Colette looked so composed, so confident, kneeling there with her Padawan braid draped over her shoulder. It made Zaiya's heart swell to see her like this.

But as the ceremony progressed and the congratulations commenced, Zaiya's expression shifted too. Her colors dimmed, mottled spots tinged with grey and amber. Wait - - did someone just mention something about another noble rising in the ranks? Zaiya blinked, her confusion evident as her bioluminescence flickered faintly.

"Did Colette marry a noble?" she whispered to herself, her brow furrowing, taking it literally instead of the surname it really referenced. Zaiya hadn't heard any mention about that. As far as Zaiya knew, Colette was an orphan. Or... had she found some noble mate obsessed with environmental preservation while out on her missions? That seemed plausible, considering Colette's passion for all things natural.

Unfortunately, it still hasn’t dawned on Zaiya that Colette was the same Colette, Aris Noble Aris Noble called his sister. Colette Colette had kept that under wraps for years.

It didn't seem to fit - - Colette always had that independent streak. But then again, maybe this was just another part of her friend's life Zaiya hadn't been around for. Colette had clearly grown so much, but Zaiya couldn't help wondering how much of her old friend she'd missed in the process. Maybe, after the ceremony, there'd be time to ask.

Aadihr stood amongst the crowd, happy to see just how vibrant and bright the collection of Jedi that have come to observe the knighting of Collette shined through the force. The passage of Padawan to knight, from apprentice to adept, was a sacred thing.

It was a gift to observe the ceremony amongst a unified order, with familial ties that only strengthened the bonds between them all. Regardless of how the Noble family shares it's name, the very same Collette that carved figurines and gave her plushies to the less fortunate, who stood up to intervene against bullies for the sake of her peers, was now standing atop the stage, a true Jedi Knight to the core. Aadihr clapped and cheered with the rest of the crowd after the braid was cut and the blade sheathed.

Unseen to the much of the masses was the way the jungles of New Cov joined in celebration, the light of the force from the flora and fauna resonating harmoniously with those in the crowd and those on the stage.
Aadihr sneezed, but continued clapping regardless.

Congratulations, Colette - you've set a fine example for your peers. Aadihr thought to himself.

Diogo had never met Colette, but it didn't matter.

He was happy to be here. As a supportive gesture, but also just happy to celebrate when everything felt like it was going to shit. The recent Hapes massacre and its aftermath threatened civil war in The Cluster. The rippling effects were unknown, but had the potential to be far reaching. The Force was fluid, but this felt like one of those inevitable trajectories of history. If there were contingencies to pull at, to change course, he couldn't see them. Once war crested the horizon, it was remarkably stubborn.

At least as of today, there'd be one more Jedi Knight to help provide the galaxy with the peace and justice it so desperately needed. It was hard not to put himself in her shoes. One day this could be him. Force help the galaxy when that happened.

Diogo stood in the hall watching, proud of his fellow Jedi, looking to the future with a roiling mix of dread and excitement.

Loomi sat towards the back of gathered group, perched on a wall so she could best see the proceedings. It was a very exciting day, given Colette was one of her first friends she had ever made. It was a bit surprising, really. They always seemed like such polar opposites, or at least Loomi had always seen Colette as being way more cool and outgoing. Now she had proven herself ready to take the next step: A Knight. There was a great deal of pride that swelled within the Godoan for her friend. They had all grown a great deal over the past few years...

Braze Kai'el Braze Kai'el had told her she was ready to be Knighted herself. Loomi wasn't quite sure if she believed it. Not that she didn't trust Braze, but that she didn't really trust herself. She probably needed a few more years to figure everything out.

The Godoan didn't rush to go meet Colette. She was content to just sit back and watch. Her presence and the emotions she gave off from a distance did all the talking for her. Loomi didn't want her headspace to sully the event in any way. Being here seemed to drag all of her own self-doubts and worries for the future back up from their slumber. This was a day for celebration, not anxiety. It was a happy day for Colette.

A day like this should be treasured.

CEREMONY: ATTENDANCE

Upon taking some time to leave the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, to come to this completely different environment altogether. Having gained permission from Valery Noble to leave the Coruscant Temple of the Jedi Order to attend this ceremony on New Cov. Tyron took in the different environment as to what he had witnessed and felt back on Coruscant. It certainly was a more natural feeling and sensation after getting off the transport shuttle. Tyron felt like he was freed from the hustle and bustle from city atmospheres like Bastion and Coruscant.

Tyron followed where all Jedi members were gathering and the presence through the Force he began to feelk was immense. He hadn't felt anything like this in his life journey as a Jedi student. This was his first of many Knighting Ceremonies that the Besalisk Jedi was attending. Many different species and ranks of Jedi were gathering for this.

It certainly seems to be quite the big deal, a tradition and event that has perhaps been carried out over many, many lifetimes for a lot of past, current and future generations of the New Jedi Order. Right now Tyron was hoping to find a Master, a mentor figure that seems to be the next phase in a Jedi student's path within the Jedi Order. Once he gets the basics down and advances further along to perhaps draw the attention and impress a potential Master he will be on his way in becoming a future Jedi Knight for the Galaxy.

The Besalisk remained quiet and alone the crowd did leave him nervous as he didn't know how others would take to him. A flick of Jedi robes to put his hood over his head believing it'd bring some comfort for nobody else to take notice of him. He went to a shaded area on the grounds and listened to Valery promoting the Jedi Padawan Learner to Knighthood. Tyron was pleased to hear and see this ceremony take form he did bow his head to greet fellow Jedi but not taking away anyone's attention or focus from the main event.

Huh. Last time Shan had seen Colette, it had been on...somewhat good terms. He'd say somewhat good, because it didn't stop him from just picking up and leaving without saying a word to her. The only one he had given any heads up to had been Zaiya. But now he was back. Just in time to see Colette getting knighted. Well, he had been back for a while now but...Urgh. His mind was wandering.

The Mirialan moved through the crowd to find a good place to stand. He wanted to see the ceremony as much as he could. He was proud of Colette. She deserved this. Though the more he thought about it, it was strange. So many of the people who were Padawans with him were knighted now. There weren't too many from his generation anymore. He could see one of those Padawans right now in the crowd, it was hard to miss Loomi of course. She seemed deep in thought however so he stayed where he was stood, just watching Valery and Colette instead. He couldn't wait to see what Colette would get up to as a knight. A slight grin spreading across his face at that thought before he shook his head. The future was going to be safe with Knights like Colette anyway.

Vera stood near the back of the gathering, her multicolored eyes fixed on Colette as Mom performed the knighting ceremony. A bright smile tugged at her lips, one that reflected both pride and warmth. She and her big sister didn't always see eye-to-eye — they bickered, argued, and both had tempers that could light up a room. But despite all that, Vera adored her big sister. And there was no way she would miss this day.

She folded her arms across her chest, leaning slightly against a pillar as Valery spoke the solemn words that marked Colette's ascension to Jedi Knight. Vera's grin only widened. Colette Noble, Jedi Knight. Guess I'm going to have to find a way to keep up now, she thought, her chest swelling with pride.

Her gaze drifted for a moment, catching sight of someone standing off to the side, seemingly alone. He looked thoughtful — contemplative, even — but Vera couldn't recall seeing him before. New blood? she mused.

With her usual energy and a slight bounce in her step, Vera made her way over to him. She stopped a few paces away and tilted her head, her trademark grin lighting up her face.

"Hey there," she said, her tone friendly and inviting. "Don't think I've seen you around before. I'm Vera Noble." She extended a hand toward him, her multicolored eyes sparkling with curiosity. Vera loved meeting new people, and this seemed like as good a time as any to make a new friend.

Roman stood at the back of the gathered Jedi, a respectful distance from the central ceremony. He didn't know Colette personally, but he recognized the pride radiating from the faces of the Jedi Masters and Knights who knew her well. He had met a few of her siblings over the years, all of them impressive in their own right, and he held her parents in high regard. The jungle air hung thick with the hum of the Force, a palpable energy that resonated within the ancient temple.

He watched as Valery, her violet blade a soft glow beneath the canopy, performed the Knighting ritual. The familiar cadence of the ceremony, the weight of each word, was a powerful reminder of the path they all walked. He felt a pang of longing, a reminder of his own aspirations to stand where Colette knelt today. But tonight was not about him. Tonight belonged to Colette, who had clearly earned this moment.

Roman watched as Valery lowered the blade, each movement precise and heavy with meaning. The final declaration echoed through the clearing, a solemn confirmation. Knight of the New Jedi Order. A swell of warmth bloomed in Roman's chest. It was good to see one of their own reach this milestone. He hoped, when his day came, he would have the same support, the same love around him. He felt the corners of his mouth lift into a soft smile, a genuine joy for the young woman who had just taken her next steps on this journey. For now, he would simply appreciate this moment, this connection, and the good times it would bring for the Jedi Order.

Orange eyes lingered across the assembled crowd that had come to celebrate Colette’s knighting. The winged Padawan had been spending time getting familiar with her revitalised body. Having her wings back had been an absolute joy to Katherine, just the simple fact she could soar through the skies again.

She had already felt free, having been unshackled from the Sith experiments. But being able to fly one more had cemented the feeling.

However, there were other physical differences that were still taking the Padawan time to get used to. Primarily? Suddenly being almost two feet taller than she had previously.

At the very least, it provided a very present benefit of being able to look over the crowd of people. That and well, not being forced to awkwardly fold her wings up due to them being as tall as herself. Katherine had opted to stand a ways back, not wanting to be in anyone’s way, nor draw any attention. She watched as Valery performed the knighting, voice full of emotion and eyes shining with happiness and pride towards not just her Padawan, but daughter.

Katherine hadn’t had too many run ins with Colette, could list them off on one hand even. But she knew enough about the young woman to know she had gone through a lot. And there was no doubt in Katherine’s mind that Colette deserved this.

Once Valery officially anointed her Padawan, the redhead joined everyone else in applause that immediately followed, a bright smile on her face.

INTERACTIONS: FELLOW JEDI

Tyron was intrigued with seeing so many other Jedi on New Cov in the Jungle Temple and this was a Jedi Padawan Learner's moment into ascension becoming a Jedi Knight. Deep down the Besalisk knew he has to get out this obstacle of being just there as a face. It was time to engage and interact with other members of the New Jedi Order. Tyron could learn and train with others as he undergoes his path of a Jedi knowing his allies and comrades will expand available resources for him. There will be times that Tyron will need and require other Jedi to aid in classes, lessons and training sessions alongside whenever he is assigned and participates in missions.

Moving out from the shadows and deciding to make his initial interactions with his fellow Jedi. He approached a better position in the gathered crowd of fellow Jedi members; ranging from Padawan Learners to Masters. The first Jedi he saw and came close to was a female human, brown hair with a white-ashen streak highlight through it. It looked similar that she was keeping herself in the back of the gathering.

Next the Besalisk Jedi student saw a male Miralukan with a blindfold secured over his eyes. Noticed the gentleman had a walking cane to assist him with finding his way around the environments surrounding him. Tyron looking around between and through various attendees of the New Jedi Order. He spotted a green-haired male Anzat that had the similar braid that Colette had formerly. Tyron glanced around noting mentally a lot more Jedi were attending but seen a female Godoan, brown long hair that appeared to be in a braid as well.

Tyron was ready to speak; engage and interact with his fellow Jedi after bringing the hood of his robes down off his face and head no longer wanting to be controlled by his nerves or let them get in his way to progress.

Vera Noble, huh? Must be one of Val's spawn. Given how many there were, Diogo was bound to run into one eventually.

She was characteristically Noble, possessing that same playfully infectious confidence. Similar chestnut brown hair to her mother, too; not a bad gene to inherit. Those eyes, though... Force damn. He'd never seen anything like them. Multi-colored, there was a depth to them like they could make dreams come alive.

"Sup, pipsqueak," Diogo replied coolly, shaking her hand. He'd made a conscious decision to keep it casual, to match some of the mischievousness he sensed in her, and most importantly—not immediately reference her parents or treat her differently because of them. Maybe she was indifferent about it, but Diogo felt discomfort when being compared to his own Anzat-frenzied father so he preemptively tread with caution. "I'm Diogo. Nice to meet ya. You know Colette?"

Vera's grin faltered for a brief moment when he called her pipsqueak, one brow arching sharply in response. She tilted her head slightly, her multicolored eyes narrowing as she gave him a quick once-over. He wasn't much taller than her, and he didn't exactly look like he was dripping in seniority.

"Pipsqueak, huh?" she repeated, her tone laced with mock incredulity. "You sure about that?" She crossed her arms, the smirk tugging at her lips returning in full force as her gaze flicked to his emerald locks. "Gotta say, the green's bold. You pull it off, though. Very... eye-catching. Natural or do you dye it?" She asked with a toothy grin.

When he asked about Colette, Vera's smirk deepened once more, and she leaned in slightly, her voice dripping with exaggerated sarcasm. "Yeah, I'd like to think I know my own sister," she quipped, straightening again with a small laugh. "You could say I'm her favorite, but she'd probably deny it. Older siblings and their egos, y'know?"

She gave him a sidelong glance, still clearly amused by the exchange so far. "So, what about you? You know her?" she asked, clearly curious about his connection to her sister.

Braze was not one for attending knighting ceremonies. Yet today, he was here—a silent shadow lingering at the periphery of the gathered crowd.

Draped in unadorned black garb, his hood drawn low over his face, Braze's appearance was understated, almost deliberately nondescript.

He stood apart, his posture still but not rigid, his presence understated. Beneath the shadow of his hood, his expression was pensive, his gaze fixed on the proceedings with an intensity that betrayed the weight of his thoughts.

Despite his preoccupied mind, Braze had made the time to come—to witness Colette's ascension. Though he kept to the edges of the gathering, there was an unspoken respect in his silent observation. Today was her moment, and he was here to bear witness, even if only from the sidelines.

How could Jack refuse the invitiation, especially on old training grounds?

Leaning back against a wall, the Knight crossed one ankle over the other, arms folded with the most cheerful, pleased smile at the momentous celebration. Another Knight in the fold, another guardian of peace of a justice to defend those who couldn't protect themselves.

And a cynical part of his mind said: Another bodybag for this senseless war.

Dismissing the cold thought, Jack unlocked his arms and just clapped, politely, when Grandmaster Noble finished her speech, just thrilled for the young newcomer and delighted to witness the ceremony. There's always something grand and profound due to the ocassion, he considered with lips twitched of a happy grin, sensing the Force had great plans for young Colette Colette .

Maybe he'd be honoured to be a part of one of them, one day.

Vera's grin faltered for a brief moment and Diogo smirked. Got 'em.

"Pipsqueak, huh? You sure about that?" She crossed her arms, the smirk tugging at her lips returning in full force as her gaze flicked to his emerald locks. "Gotta say, the green's bold. You pull it off, though. Very... eye-catching. Natural or do you dye it?" She asked with a toothy grin.

"Sorry, I couldn't hear you from up here." He leaned in, bending his knees dramatically. Mirth sparkled in his eyes. "What were you sayin', princess?"

"Thanks. I dye it. The color is called Mind-Your-Own-Business Green. But uh, cool eyes you got," he said, wanting to return a compliment. They could've been fake contacts or whatever but they partially reminded him of Val's so he figured they were real.

"Yeah, I'd like to think I know my own sister," she quipped, straightening again with a small laugh. "You could say I'm her favorite, but she'd probably deny it. Older siblings and their egos, y'know?"

Colette was her sister? What the hell... was Val growing them in vats now?

"Oh, right... I knew that." He didn't. Diogo folded his arms raised an eyebrow, but couldn't suppress a smirk. "Oh yeah? Don't you have younger siblings...?"

"So, what about you? You know her?"

"Nah, I've never met her. I'm pretty new here still so I don't know many people."

So much had passed since Aadihr first reunited with the Order on Dantooine - before the Diarchy took control. Aadihr had gone from knowing no one to sharing his first dance with Azurine - and met the sword and shield of the Jedi in the same evening.

Aadihr was happy to recognize so many presences as they all came together to congratulate Colette. Of course his Padawan's family, but also the presence of Connel, making time for despite his urgent aura; Jack, whom he had shared trials with a certain Padawan no longer with them; Braze staying out of view; Diogo, the Anzat boy dangerously close to Vera. Aadihr chuckled a little, feeling surrounded by friends on all sides, even if he kept many of them at arm's length.

There was another, however. One who hid - who's aura reminded Aadihr of his own, walking into the gala on Dantooine knowing no-one. Perhaps this was the force guiding him to help - to assist the newcomer the way Azurine Varek Azurine Varek had assisted him.

Except without the dancing.

Aadihr casually waded through the crowd, trying not to seem intentional about approaching the hooded Tyron Khan Tyron Khan .
"It's a great thing, isn't it? To see so many people celebrate a rite of passage for one of their own." He spoke as if merely making small talk to the Besalisk, though it was an invitation - to feel welcome within the Order, not an outsider looking in.

Vera's grin sharpened, her eyes practically sparkling with amusement as she leaned a little closer, a sly tilt to her head. "Oh, I see how it is," she quipped, crossing her arms and smirking. "It's not going to take long before I tower over you. I'll remember this~"

She straightened up, clearly enjoying herself, before adding, "But hey, at least the green's working for you. Makes it easier to spot you in a crowd."

When the topic shifted, Vera shrugged lightly and let her arms drop to her sides. "Yeah, I've got a whole squad of younger siblings," she said, ticking them off on her fingers. "The triplets — Aeryn, Adam and Aurra — then there's Eryx, and the baby of the bunch, Yvaine. It's a big family." Which she liked. It kept the house busy and sometimes a little loud, but it felt good to be surrounded by so much loved ones.

She looked back at Diogo, curiosity flickering in her multicolored eyes. "What about you? Big family? Or are you flying solo and making new friends with that sarcasm of yours?" She tilted her head again, her smirk returning with renewed energy.
