Non-canon powers and abilities?

Alright I am Willing to ask the question if some of these powers are allowed by some or not. As an example, Ice shaping. Alot of people seem to have the idea of throwing ice shards at people like fire shapers do with fire. As well as some others creating an entire area of dove powers. Namely Umbraknesis by our one and only Zaiden, or whatever the purple guy calls himself now. And so, I am wanting to know if people can really create their own powers that can be taught to others, or should we just stick to different variations of canon powers?

Not asking for an approval system. That has been shot down so many times..... I am asking if people can do as such where you can use different powers like that. Like control the weather, or summon a different kind of power that can do many things.

Oh. Then yeah totally. But that depends upon the personal inclinations of the people you are roleplaying with? I did a private RP where we allowed ourselves to do all kinds of crazy things. Fly, Force Storm, AoE Lightning + Flame Tornado. It was good fun but not at all appropriate for Mainstream PvP like Invasions and stuff.

Stick to the movies to achieve maximum compatibility with the community. And then find a group of cool people with whom you can do the really sweet stuff with.

Not really a Factory Discussion. But you get the idea. Cheers. :D :p

Controlling the weather is a Force Power called Alter Environment that's been used multiple times on board(usually resulting in the deaths of millions and faux imprisonment, but I digress). "Umbrakinesis" to my knowledge is not a thing. Shaping should have a list of what elements can be shaped somewhere, but IIRC it's the same as Avatar(surprise surprise).

As Eli said if it's not Canon(real Canon, not the new fake Canon), it's not a thing, but there are a great deal of Canon powers out there that can be manipulated and combined in differing ways. You've just got to explore the power list, acquire the powers legitimately(often not done, but should be) and get creative.

thats what I wanted.

Yes I understand the variations of force powers from alter environment, but I meant one where it literally was it's own power name. But I digress. I can also under stand ice shaping can be a result of the water shaping and such, I was just asking as I see some making whole different forms of powers and wanted to ask the question on a definate field.

1. Tef/Staff Canon: (Gulag Plague) If the Staff say it's a thing? Then it's a thing until they say it's not.
2. Movie Canon: (High Canon) If it's in the movies. It's Movie Canon. Almost as good as Staff canon.
3. Wookiee Canon: (Wookieepedia) If it's on Wookieepedia. It's almost as good as Movie Canon.
4. Legends Canon: (EU canon) If it's classified as Legends by Disney Corp. It's almost as good as Movie Canon.
5. Force Unleashed Canon: (OP canon) If it's in the Force Unleashed... Just don't.

You know how to use pyrokinesis it speeds up the molecules of the air? Think of ice shaping as super slowing the molecules.

Hence the question. Just wanting peoples ideas on what can take place through different variations.

While the description was Umbra, Zaidens abilities technically were a combination. (Lacking light, using TK to give the physical aspect etc)

From my personal experience on site? If it makes sense to the canon star wars (using their basis, while not changing to much) you wont get in to much trouble.

But that being said, no all out new powers can be made.
