Non-Canon Voluntary Realistic Warfare Test?

[member="Cyrus Tregessar"]

I'm not sure if we could since only contesting new territory means there wouldn't be invasions, mostly doms, which the system doesn't change, aside from it adding more credits to the tax/income. Doing the closed region where we can test the effects of small scale invasions and raids would prove the concept,, but you're point is exactly the problem getting new concepts that effect warfare off the ground face. And that's no one wants to commit time to an idea that doesn't actually get them anything yet, and no one wants to put such an idea into effect until its proven.

Its a conundrum.

Adding you ahead of time still just to be ready all the same.

Why not just treat it like an opposed Dominion. Except the opposition is each other, winner take all. It'd be an unclaimed system so no one is losing anything in the affair (except prestige, I suppose).

That could work I suppose, give 2 fleets and armies pre-constructed and then work off the income system to make repairs and after the first few battles open it up like crazy.

Still you'll need the cooperation of 10-15 writers for each faction committed to following the rules.

Well, yeah, that's the kicker. We might be able to pull it off with just a handful per side, use it as an opportunity to draw in NFUs. Hell you could even make the outcome revert to status quo ante bellum but at least the achievements and battles would count in-universe.

We'd have to talk to the factions then huh. But yeah getting NFUs into this would work best since they'd be more akin to using the vehicles and soldiers than Jedi or Sith who are legion themselves. lol

An income and production system is a good idea. As [member="Fatty"] says I've tested it before with some success.

It's not difficult to create, the difficulty is implementing it into an RP. Fleeters are already a niche, the amount willing to do something like that is likely less.

Even so, I'll offer advice and assistance where I can, but I won't run it.

Thanks, I'll join it.

Yeah its getting people to agree to it. I honestly think it'd make wars more balanced as well as realistic, since they wouldn't be endless. You'd see a lot more map awareness and change. I'm up for any advice but I was planning to do my best to run so long as I can find enough willing folk to step up.
