Private Not Ready for a Walker

Kay listened to Walker Walker very carefully and what he was proposing. Was it the best that she could get out of him? Possibly. She went through various scenarios in her mind over how to play this out with the time that he was suggesting. There was of course going to be hiccups on her end.

"And how would I know if you'd be handing the people over alive and unharmed? You could end up jettisoning them into orbit. Or dropping them off in some hostile location or environment that they wouldn't survive."

As for synthesizing a cure, Kay didn't need him to try that. He'd discover the truth otherwise. The clock was indeed ticking, but it was only in regards to the lasting effects.

"I could give you a variety of teas, one of which would have the cure. However I won't reveal which one it is until those citizens are alive, safe and home again. Consuming them all could just make it worse for you. And by the way, you don't have any allergies, do you? I'd hate for you to have a reaction with the cure...."

NPC Treasury NPC Treasury questioned how she'd know for sure if the people were released and not just going to be killed. A fair assumption. Walker rarely ran into these issues, most of the people he made deals with were final. That was just the deal. He didn't allow himself to be crossed often because if he was he'd ruin their lives, if they had one at all afterwards. However, he never remembered crossing a deal himself. It wasn't out of some moral belief, but more just what he thought would turn out best.

Naturally, he was not aware that if he attempted the cure option, he'd definitely succeed, as there was simply nothing to cure and even if he discovered how to counter the effects he did get, it'd probably be easier to just wait them out.

She offered a potential solution, give him a set of teas with only a single cure. And only give him the truth, and therefor the cure, afterwards. He thought it over, tapping his fingers on his chin as his eyes drifted, "That might work. Naturally of course I'd inform my allies that if I died from it, they had new targets. But if I didn't, then all is resolved." he prompted. Vash didn't easily hold grudges, again not due to morality. But simply because his mind turned from one thing to another extremely quickly forgetting about previous emotions. This was the current direction, survival. She was the path. Naturally he would guard himself from dangers this time. But it meant he wasn't likely to come back for revenge unless he felt screwed over from agreed upon results.

Kay nodded in agreement. "Alright then. We have a deal." It wasn't the greatest of deals, yet she knew from previous experience that there was always a bit of give and take.

She left Walker Walker and went over behind her counter to the stacks of boxes of her teas. Kay began going through them, not taking out random boxes, but proper ones. Of course most of her teas were good and beneficial, some were even addicting. Why not gain herself a new customer at the same time?

Kay returned with the boxes and held them out for him. "Here. I trust that there won't be anymore trouble?" She knew people that could hunt him down if there was.
