Noticeably Absent [Sky]

He stopped, turned, and stood. "Don't give up. Just keep going. If trying something else feels more natural for you, try it. I'll be here to keep you from getting too far in over your head." There came the easy smile once more, so that she'd know she was in good hands.

She saw him on his back, so turned the same as him, trying to float. She was no where near as good, frantically kicking and moving her hands to stay a float, but soon her movements slowed slightly. Every once in a while pushing off the ground, she managed an odd type float-swim.

"Thanks," she said, trying to venture deeper into the water. "I wish I had the relaxation you have...I feel like the opposite of a fish ought of water."

"Fish out of water is the perfect saying right now." Shaking his head with a laugh, he made his way to the shore and sat there, watching her. "Just have to relax a bit more. Don't panic - it makes things worse, typically, cause you start overcompensating and wasting energy. You're doing fine."

She knew he was being overly nice, for she was doing anything but fine. But she did follow his words, and it seemed to work a tad...though every so often she could not help but feel like she was going under--panic--and start actually sinking. Trying to keep her head above water, she 'swam' to the much more composed black hole.

"What are you going to teach me next, master," she said teasingly--trying to splash him without losing her balance to stay above the water.

"How to splash." He says with a corner of his mouth curled upwards in a smirk. A calloused palm of a hand ending in long slender fingers swept through the water, partially cupped, to send a wave right into her face.

"Now don't be cheeky!", he chides amusedly.

The water splashed headlong into her, causing her to take in a mouthful and start coughing--causing her to lose her momentum upward and start sinking down. Trying to kick up again, she took a glup of air before the sinking began again.

She remembered swimming as a whole lot easier. It was never this hard to do, this was harder than going up against a Master Jedi swordsman--and she was sure the water right about now was kicking her ass.
