WEAKNESSES
- Sympathetic Attunement - Her Force Bonds can be turned against her, especially because she is not as conscious of them as she ought to be.
- Awkward: Novik takes herself too seriously and struggles to understand humor. She has a hard time navigating many social situations as a result, always looking for pragmatic courses of action to be decided, rather than just enjoying herself.
- Aimless: Novik has little idea of what it is she wants to do with herself, and often follows the path she believes is expected of her.
Born at what had been the height of Pel's career, Novik grew up watching her parents' marriage falling apart, but also saw the great passion they had for each other. As a child, Novik looked up to her brother, Bawrad, who always seemed to know what to do, and Bawrad lionized his father. And so, Novik followed suit, throwing herself into her studies, and alienating herself from what little contact with other children her age she had. She became engrossed in understanding the Force. From a young age, she noticed that her father was not giving her the same education he'd provided to her brother - Pel focused on more general abilities and studies with Novik, where he kept Bawrad close to him and his work. As a result, Novik has long had a sense that she is the 'second child,' which has only served to give her a greater sense of being lost. However, she understands that her father gives her a great deal of affection and attention, and wants to reciprocate, though she is unsure how. Unlike her brother, she is quite close to her mother, despite having few shared interests with her - Novik has more of a sense of being 'at home' with her. As the Empire of the Lost crumbled, Novik feels that there must be a place for her somewhere with bringing it back together, but the prospect of getting involved with something so much bigger than herself is a source of dread for her.
