Oblivious and Afraid

"You were with me and I wasn't going to let you get permanently harmed. So yes, very safe. Just as safe as you are now, if a bit more adventurous then." He smiled and finally put down his datapad, scooting himself to the left to get a little closer to Silfe, and put an arm around her. "You know I was thinking, you have a very stressful job and so do I, and we both have a lot of work to do. So why don't we try to have a date night like last night, say about once every week if we can? Some time when we both have the free time we can go see what interests us. Not saying every night has to be like last night, fun as it was. Can be just.. going to a movie or something, you know?" It was a little obvious Darlyn was, to say the least, eager to plan the next get together they had. Something about the way Silfe had come out of her shell to start this made him want to try, at the least, to take the initiative to continue it.

She scoffed. "You mean risking my heart with you isn't adventurous." She rolled her eyes expressively as he came and put his arm around her. Silfe naturally curled up with him as though it was the easiest thing in the world for her to do and he wasn't entirely new to her. He was of course, it just didn't feel like it. He was warm and gods he smelled good.

His request made her smile and look up into his eyes. It was sweet and affirming that he was as happy as she was to continue whatever this was turning into. She nodded, trying not to burst in happiness. He was wanting to get to know her and who she was with him. It wasn't just the night they had spent together he was looking forward to repeating, it was also the date itself in all its wonderful awkward 'getting to know you' parts. "Yes. That sounds," She paused, trying to get a hold of herself and smiling like an idiot. "really good. Really, really good." Silfe leaned forward and kissed him softly.

"Different adventurous. Dangerous kind of adventure. Not the safe kind where there's an obvious bad guy you can punch in the nose." He smiled when she so naturally curled up with him, resting his head a bit as she did so. New but, this felt normal enough for him. She felt nice, soft, and pleasant where she lay semi atop him, certainly atop his arm. He tucked a bit of hair out of her face when she looked up, though the little strand would only fall back when she nodded. It was cute, like a little bit of that riot she said his hair had was rubbing off on her. That and that goofy idiotic smile she had, really warmed his heart.

He kissed her back, just as softly as she kissed him, and moved to cuddle her a little bit closer. "Mmm... so you free today, or do I have to worry about you having business meetings to attend, Lady Sosuri?" A smile, the gentle tease of her status within the House of Lords.

She loved it when he touched her or touched her hair, even if it was to pointlessly move a bit of her hair out of her face. "Well, I won't be punching any noses today or attending business meetings. You see, this girl was smart when she planned to approach you about her interest... she made sure she had time to see how it would go. Thus, I have nothing on my schedule today at all except answering simple messages."

She leaned into him and brought up her datapad to read and scroll through the news. "What about you Minister? This was all very sudden for you. I am afraid my planning did not go so far as to arrange a day off for you. Am I to expect that you must return to work today and either leave me here all alone or send me on my way?"

[member="Darlyn Excron"]

"Well, I wouldn't be too against having a pretty thing like you to come back to. However, I don't think the world's going to explode if I have just one sick day, do you?" There was the mischief, the little angle he could take to have a bit of a relaxing day with her. "Of course that really depends on if you can stand to spend a day with me, probably void of much more excitement and filled with more time together than I dare say you've had with me. I'd hate to overload your ability to somehow withstand me after all."

She smiled and looked back up at him. It struck her anew how handsome she thought he was, with scruff and wild red hair. Beside him, she felt relaxed and happy... perhaps for the first time since she had returned home to Commenor. "Oh, I doubt if I will get bored. Besides, the last time we spent this much time together, people got shot and I got a head wound that knocked me out." She laughed and shook her head. "I could withstand you then so I am sure I can withstand you now."

"I remember waking up in your arms, being carried to the ship. I was SO woozy from hitting my head, but you were right. I was safe. I knew I was safe with you. Despite the fact you are a dangerous man, quite the fly by the seat of your pants kind of guy, I knew I was safe with you." Her hand came up to rest on his cheek and she kissed him softly. "I am going to bless the day I got the courage up to approach you."

"Handling excitement and boredom are two different challenges my dear Lady. The former is much easier than the latter, believe me. At least the former makes a good story." He quite liked how she looked now, away from the public, and media, and the things that stressed politicians. After watching his, effectively, sister Kay and her struggles with them, some of which may or may not be directly his fault, it was always a delight to see how one felt without that oppressive audience. He moved his other hand to just under Silfe's chin when she kissed him, slightly tipping it up to make it easier on himself.

"You know I just might bless it too. That or be very disappointed I made you wait so long, probably depends on the day." He adjusted his seat, gently doing his best to adjust for her as well, so his arm still around her didn't lose circulation. Not that it was a huge concern, he'd already determined her quite worth it after last night, or during last night, at some point. "Mmm... You know for once I can't wait to see the rumours that spread about me. The maids love to gossip after all, and as I've said I've never had an interest in anyone before you. Should be fun, get to be a right proper politician for once with scandalous rumours of a not-so-secret lover. Wonder if there will be any communities online heartbroken to see a devilishly dashing, distinguished, daring, and dangerous detective off in the arms of a lovely, levelheaded, loyal Lady like you? I'd assume you'd be leaving quite a heartbroken community somewhere, going off with a dangerous man."

Obviously he was, joking around. But he did expect, once rumours and news came out, that she'd get letters suggesting she leave him. It was almost certainty what with the way the galaxy worked.

The maids. Silfe knew their private life wouldn't stay private for long. Though really it depended on who actually talked to the servants and who thought maid gossip beneath their notice. Silfe was the former, having found palace gossip to be helpful more often than not.

Silfe didn't feel as though she had some sort of virtue to protect so she didnt mind that others might come to know that she had spent the night. She did wish a little that it would be just their secret for a while but such was a common sacrifice for politicians. For what she did for Commenor, it was an easy sacrifice. No doubt she would receive many a letter and not all against Darlyn. Many of the people adored Bradshaw and would see her moving on negatively despite the fact he had been engaged and made a child with Jairdain.

"Oh no doubt I'll hear about it from anyone who feels they have enough of a voice to do so. And if I had a community waiting on me to be single where the hell have they been since I returned? Somehow I doubt I have left many hearts broken."

"Oh I'm sure Acuin has one now that they've gotten the privilege of having you there so often. Such proximity breeds closeness." He aimlessly began to play with her hair, just a bit. Twirling a few strands around a finger, like his brain needed something, anything to do with his hands. "Then again, perhaps it will be a day or two we can have in peace. I certainly expect our next date will be less secretive than this one thankfully was. Not that I mind letting the world know we're a thing, that is. Just that I might have to plan around some prying eyes."

He hummed, and let the quiet hang a little bit. It wasn't, awkward. Not for him at least. It was more, well it was more the peaceful kind, like when reading or watching something. It was a good quiet, and while Darlyn wasn't as visibly peaceful as he had been asleep, Silfe and her newfound sense of sensitivity to the Force would very much pick up that he was no less relaxed for it. "Mmm... I suppose you only have to go when you feel you need to go back to Acuin. Whenever you decide that may be."

The silence was comfortable and she felt goosebumps as he toyed with her hair. It had been quite some time since anyone had touched her, let alone touched her hair in this idle fondness. While she enjoyed the sensation, she let her mind ponder on his words for a long time. A thing. They were a thing, but what kind of thing would that be, she wondered. Were they a serious thing? Were they a dating casually thing? Were they serious because they had sex, or because she had been his first physically intimate partner, or not? She wondered if there should be labels on whatever this thing they were or if she should let it lie. Would he be annoyed at the question so early into their relationship... if one could call it that. One night of sex, however good or number partner did not make it a relationship.

Then too was that he was inviting her to stay until she needed to return to Acuin. Was he meaning like, for the weekend or if she didn't go home for a week, would she stay here and not her own personal quarters in the palace? Silfe did not want to move too fast and scare the man off right away. She took a breath and was about to ask several times before she finally had percolated on it enough to just bury the hatchet. "I have some questions for you Darlyn. You can say you don't know if you are unsure or don't have an answer right now, but I think I should ask anyway."

"This is the first intimate night you have ever had and I am wondering what you would consider our relationship to be at this moment?"

[member="Darlyn Excron"]

Silfe made many times clear that Darlyn very much let things come as they may, and so unlike her was not thinking fifty thousand questions on the situation. As far as he was concerned, the now mattered much more than thinking forward, at least until Silfe left to return to her estate in Acuin, assuming she had an estate. Which left his mind relatively uncluttered in his idle enjoyment of her hair, then her voice even as it surprised him. Questions, alright. He gave a small nod to let her know he was listening, as the first question was given.

What did he think their relationship was... oh that was a doosy. His hand slowed, and even stopped playing with her hair while he thought on it.

"I... don't really know Silfe. I want to say that I feel serious about it, because I want this to be something. But, I don't know. What would you consider it, you certainly have at least a little more experience, by your own admission. Are you also, unsure?" Maybe he wanted her to be certain. Maybe he wanted some reassurance he was alright to be unsure. He wasn't sure.

She thought about his answer for a long moment. It seemed perfectly acceptable to her. She had approached him, when he had not even contemplated the idea of a relationship with anyone, much less her. When his mind was opened to the possibility, he had decided to give it a shot and the result had been a wonderful date and a great night together. Did that suddenly make their relationship crystal clear and coldly cut? No. He was still adjusting to the idea even if they hadn't spoken much about the future. They were in the here and now and she liked that.

"I was not unsure when I kissed you after our training session. I don't know that I would call myself unsure now. I would call myself open to possibilities and no labels necessary at this time. I think it is okay to be unsure, especially you. You didn't think about this for a while before it happened, unlike me. And if you think about it, 24 hours is not much time to decide anything especially since our minds have been rather preoccupied in other ways than contemplation of relationship status."

"The only thing I really want right now is to enjoy my time with you, especially if you keep playing with my hair. Everything else is ... complication."
