Of Crystals and their Properties [Mara]

Close quarters was not an issue for the larger man. He was no stranger to space travel, though it was certain that it wasn't his forte. He much preferred the land and solid ground to the vastness of space and the infinite darkness littered by a sea of stars and gas. However, he had grown accustomed to space travel to a small degree, he had to if he wanted to continue on his current path as a Silver Jedi.

He settled in the bunk across from the Lady [member="Mara D'Lessio Merrill"] and offered a crooked smirk to her words. He let out a hefty sigh and settled deep into a sort of conscious sleep, a warriors sleep, as they began their long journey to her home.

Two weeks in a very small ship went about as well as you'd expect for a couple of friendly people who'd spent time in space. This wasn't to say they didn't have their share of awkward moments -- their bunks were inset in opposite walls of a corridor, for starters, and the sonic shower wasn't exactly large or reliable -- but you could blush your way past just about anything if necessary. And it really was necessary. Due in part to the time they pretty much had to spend together, and the fact that they got along, she couldn't help being aware that she quite liked his company. Also his butt.

On the other hand, she was, in a sense, in a position of responsibility here. Sure, he could break her over his knee and she barely came up to his sternum, and they were about the same age -- feth, he could be older -- but she was a Kilian Lord, a Force Master. And he was a Padawan. Such things just weren't done, unless you were a Republic Jedi, which Mara sure as feth wasn't. Paddy poking was frowned upon by anyone with half a brain, even if he wasn't her Padawan. Per se.

One could spend a lot of time thinking such things over the course of two weeks. Fortunately, they had a ton of other things to think about, like Force crystals. She knew more about Force crystals than virtually anyone, and Mani was a curious and thoughtful student, and her sample pack was exhaustive in its collection of research materials.

In due course, they touched down on a mountain plateau. She'd called ahead: a heavily fur-clad attendant held a trio of shaggy pulkas in ankle-deep snow. The trip to Castle Miriamele was a matter of a couple of hours through mountain passes and above deep crevices. The surefooted mounts would handle the trip easily, despite Mani's weight.
