Oh, I Don't Know...

Lori raised a brow. [member="Arekk"] 's name was sure a mouthful. At least hers was more simple, not that she was giving it out right now though. Still, he had his own little greeting part which was in itself, pretty awesome.

She followed suit and took off her shoes, setting them aside. It was more of a habit than just following his lead. She took a look around, stepping into the living room first. "To the left? Thanks.
I'll check it out after I finish my soda. I don't want to accidently spill it on something."
Besides, Lori only ate or drank something in her room when she was sick. And right now she wasn't ill at all.

"You've got a neat place here. And look at the size of that holoscreen! I bet the sound is amazing..." Having neighbours so close wasn't much of a concept to her. Outside of being in close quarters on a ship, she had lived primarily on large estates.

"No worries. All I ask is that you're tidy and clean up after you eat."

Considering his apartment was in the more luxurious and expensive area of Ethos City, using the holoscreen with the best sound system at full volume was an option available at any time. One of the many perks of living the "good life", sort of speak.

"Wanna use it? Go ahead, I don't mind! I usually sleep or use my holocomputer when I'm around here, so you can do about anything."

His stomach grumbled as hunger peaked at this time of the day, no idea about Lori. Maybe she was hungry as him and he could prepare something to eat. Noodles, a bowl of delicious Bantha grill steak? Anything she could think of.

Lori was about to remark that she wasn't a boy, so of course she wasn't going to make a mess ir not clean up after herself. But [member="Arekk"] was a man, so...that wasn't really a good idea.

She gave him a mock salute. "Understood, sir!" She then broke out in a little fit of laughter that ended in a snort.

At the mention of letting her turn on the holoscreen, she used her thumb to plug the soda bottle and then lept over onto the couch and grabbed the remote, flicking it on. "Ohhh...this is going to be awesome! I hope that I can find a good action flick!" The last thing that she had wanted to see was anything depressing, like the news. Action movies were much better!

As Arekk's tummy grumbled, so did hers, almost as though they were in sync. She did her best to ignore it though, curling her legs up underneath herself as she drank more of her soda and started surfing through the channels. "What do you do for work? Must be something good to afford this kind of place."

"Nothing important. Don't drink your whole soda at once, you won't have an appetite after I serve us something."

It was nice to have some noise once again, the usual silence of his apartment became stale after a while. Having Lori was a relief of some sorts, her outgoing personality and somewhat high energy to do mundane things such as turning the TV was a welcome sight.

"There's a bunch of holoflicks to go through, really! Just go through them and pick something for us. I'll cook something in the meantime."

Cooking for Ar'ekk could mean very big meals that included vegetables, steak, a glass of wine for himself, a bag chips and some wet noodles similar to the ones cooked by Jovim from around the corner. She'd definitely like that.

Nothing important? And with the quick way that [member="Arekk"] changed the subject, she knew that he was hiding something. Should she pry? Lori decided that perhaps the better option was to wait until tomorrow.

"Yeah? What's on the menu for tonight? I'm STARVING." Well, not really starving. But she knew that she'd really start tp get hungry once the food started cooking.

Lori got herself comfortable even more so and began flipping through the channels. She came across some action flick, where a girl appeared to be taken hostage by some unsavoury fellows. "Ooooo...." She leaned in a little closer. One of these days she might be in that kind of situation, so she wanted to see a whole range of ideas on how to get out of it. Hopefully the girl in the film wasn't a complete ditz. But one never knows when they don't see it from the start.

So far Lori had been lucky. She had never been in any real danger yet.

"You will see soon. Just be patient, huh?"

Lori reminded him of Atefeh, his adoptive daughter. Remembering her just stung his heart and broke it into a thousand pieces one more time considering she had disappeared alongside Jyn, his girlfriend at the time, who sadly passed away a year ago when they both vanished out of the blue.

Too many what ifs, situations where he could've tried to know, where he could've saved them.

"Like those movies, huh? They're not that bad but I fall asleep most days, no time to catch up on holoflicks at all."

Food was almost ready, the table laid out with the appropiate cutlery and two glasses for them. Wine for the adult, soda for the girl.

"Patient? Ha! I'm a teenager. We're not known for patience." Or at least that was how she figured it anyways.

Lori had another sip of her soda, being careful not to spill it when she set it down. Then she grabbed a pillow and hugged it to her stomach as she watched. Of course she was curious about what [member="Arekk"] was cooking, but didn't peek. "Yeah. I love adventure films. Get that from my mom. Her life was full of adventure before she got boring. So I've been out training and looking for my own." And she was looking fir her Dad, as well as trying to find some kind of future for herself. She didn't want to be trapped like her Mom.

"I know that too well. I was a teenager too!"

Ugh, he sounded like an old man despite being in his mid-twenties. He padded to where the boiling pot of food was and held the spoon, carefully tasting the contents of it.

Ar'ekk savoured the taste, allowing it to rest on his tongue, allowing his taste buds and palate the maximum chance to sense the complexities and layers of flavour.

"Go and sit down, I'll serve us in a minute."

The tantalizing aroma of food being cooked and coming from the pot was mouth drooling, his stomach growled loudly as time moved on.

Lori laughed as [member="Arekk"] reminded her that he was young too. Frankly everyone was. Well, except for clones. They tended to age differently. She wondered if they had any real childhood at all as their life spans tended to be one-third of normal people. But it was hard to say.

She let go of the pillow and got to her feet as she was told to sit at the table. The soda bottle was snatched as she made her way to it and sat down. "Oh....that smells so yummy..." Lori still didn't know what it was that he was cooking. But more than likely she was going to have plenty of it. "Are you a chef? Is that how you make your riches?"

"I wish! But no, not really. I work freelance."

Meh. Still not the answer Lori was expecting from Ar'ekk but at least was something, a small glimpse into his private life that seemed so secret and mysterious. Not like he wanted to share his entire life to a teenage girl he had just met an hour ago but probably in due time when they've built a good friendship.

"Wet noodles, Bruallki and a lot more."

The bowl included other ingredients such as space carrots, Ojomian onions, Anzati snot garlic. Deltron spice wine for the adult and a light soda for Loreena. Once the meal was finished, the two of them wouldn't even be able to stand up without either burping or feeling too tired to do it.

Lori raised a brow as she sat down at the table. [member="Arekk"] worked freelance, did he? Usually that meant bounty hunting or mercenary work. At least that was her understanding. But as far as she knew, she had no bounties on her head, nor had she gotten herself into any kind of trouble to have anyone be sent to kill her. But did her Mom? Fortunately Lori kept her identity hidden, or so she figured, so it'd be difficult for others to know who she was.

That was what she hoped anyways. When exactly she was planning on going home, she wasn't so sure. Lori didn't even want to go back to her guardian either. She was still upset at being called out and put in her place in front of other people.

Lori brushed that all aside as the food was brought out. She grinned and licked her lips. "This looks so awesome!" She dug right in, taking in a hearty mouthful. Before she was finished chewing and swallowing, she spoke up. "I think you missed your calling...You're a great cook."
