Oh, It's You Again

Gen narrowed her eyes and huffed. Circe was correct that the Rebel leader had been the one to initiate physical conflict, though Geneviève felt quite justified in it, all the same. One does not usually blackmail another person out of benevolence--especially a person with a galaxy filled with bounty hunters possibly in pursuit. This 'friendship' thing was just weird.

"Whatever," she hissed, rolling her eyes before ordering a glass of mistwater--in the bottle. There was no chance on Sullust that she was going to allow herself to be inebriated in the presence of her enemies, even if they swore they wished for good. "I think we both know I don't want to be 'friends'. So I hope you have something else to tell me that might not make this an entire waste of our time."

"Oh, but I do." She paused, smiling. "Demilitarization is a key source of revenue. Those micromines... You know, the old Imperial ones left on some of the ancient battlefields? I believe I've determined a way to safely disarm them and convert the antimatter into power. And I of course would love to showcase how it works."

Of course, she knew Gen didn't give a feth about it. She just wanted to talk business. Maybe flirt.

Now, this was actually an interesting bit of information--if it was true. "You're not serious," Gen uttered, peering into Circe's eyes as if she were trying to look into that insane brain of hers. "I don't think you're serious." Mines into antimatter power? There was a trace of doubt in Lasedri's tone, however. But why in the galaxy would Subach want to share any of this? There was a catch, no matter how one looked at this situation.

"I bet you'd love to showcase it--whatever it is you're really getting on about." Yeah, there were a hundred ulterior motives Gen could imagine right now.

"I actually am serious." She smiled. "Those micromines were from an old Imperial project. They were deployed en masse for a long time, but eventually were removed from service for being expensive." At least according to the Intel she once had. And as Subach had the capability to produce antimatter - and thus, Emeritus' facilities did as well - such could be replicated.

"Here's what I'm thinking we develop together. A variable use antimatter pellet of sorts. I don't know, something that can fit in a gun, power it, and be booby trapped by said gun's owner in the event that they get harmed." She paused, thinking of another use. "Or we could redevelop the micromine technology. Or we could do both."

"So..." Gen began, hands rising above the table and folding together--though her eyes continued to keep track of Circe's. "Why do you come to me if you've got this all figured out? Could just keep it to yourself--unless you're trying to screw with me."

Her hands released their grasp on each other, and her right hand lay on the tabletop, index finger tapping ominously. This [member="Enigma"] seemed to be trying to play a little game, and even if Gen agreed to whatever it was that she was proposing, there would be no chance that Gen was going to expose her back to this crazy.

"Peace offering?" Truthfully Circe was unsure as to why she had come to do this. She just felt it was important to get a certain person on her side. "So, hugs, or no? I'd really rather get some hugs going here if you, I dunno... will take those weapons you're hiding off you. I know you've got something up your sleeve to kill me with, so let's be truthful about this, okay?"

Gen rolled her eyes and raked her hand through her hair, exasperated with this person. Was she serious? Hugs? Hugs? "Not a chance.

"I'll agree to this economic partnership of sorts. But keep your body away from me." She had issues with people, sure. But only crazy people hug in these cases. Geneviève Lasedri was fairly certain that there was nothing crazy about herself.

"Fair enough." She smiled. "However, the question still remains. Do you want us to focus on antimatter power cells, antimatter micromines, or both?" Such was what she was waiting to hear an answer to.

"Also, I may have another concept you might be intrigued by."
